*I vote Asia for sure. Build a new base there. The panic is getting out of control.
Plus from a RP perspective it makes sense. Between the two its the larger population center, so you'd be helping the most people.
It also makes the most sense in my opinion, it has the most landmass.
Just one suggestion for loadout change:
I never see much reason to give machine gunners a secondary weapon as I find that MG’ers tend to be quite far from most enemies on most missions. Thus, if enemies close to pistol range on an MG’er and you don’t have enough TUs to blast them with the MG, something has probably gone so horribly wrong that having a backup pistol is not going to help much.
Hence, I’d suggest dumping that pistol and its spare magazine in favour of either more MG ammo (allowing more use of the MG to demolish obstacles) or some combination of grenades (providing a useful alternative to the MG). Or, at the very least, dump the spare magazine for the pistol (how likely is an MG’er to burn through the 15-rounds already in the pistol, especially on such a timed mission?).
Given the 6-turn limit until Cleaner reinforcements, I think the flexibility of taking extra grenades would probably be the way to go, simply because the likelihood of burning through the MG ammo already carried (1+2 reloads) is probably unlikely.

Dont worry about that MARS "face rocket", i today was playing Xenonauts 1 to ost on my channel and u know what? I used plasma grenade to desteroy a wall but i forgot there was farmer hiding in a corner and just turned him into red mist lmao. Cause brain locked on that part of a wall instead of searching for a new path to avoid hitting civilian haha

I agree with a Taiwanese base with level three radar or an eastern Soviet base with a secondary Pacific base north of Australia.

So right now I would build a training room for the Cube and hire soldiers up to the living capacity or training capacity (which ever is lower) because right now if an alien ship found that base that is millions of dollars and one or two months time to construct it down the drain. Than go into Asia if it is feasible. However if Warden armor is available than get a few sets of those as wining the ground war is just as important as the research or air war.

Also, I would personally not feel terribly comfortable using some random burning oil on the ground as cover, but to each their own I guess. (I know, smoke is defensive. Still not real cover)

I feel like aircraft cannons are usually belt-fed and loaded all at once, not just loading in one shell at a time. That's kinda weird, though I suppose it's also how every other weapon loads and also how XCOM did it and it'd be annoying to make this one gun type reload differently than everything else
I just saw a short on loading rounds into multi role fighters by the USAF but couldn’t find it. So here is a full video of them arming a fighter.

Shouldn't you build full accelerated weapons for everybody before you build a new base? If you already have that covered, get the base on Taiwan! (Just out of principle) With three radars it should be able to cover mainland china, Siberia and Australia.

Love the videos but I have to say this again: When you read long text, you speak waaaay too fast. It's almost unintelligible. The only way I can follow is to get up from the couch and get so close to the screen so I can read the text too. Or I just accept a minute of gibberish flowing in my ears... The funny thing is that you read slowly if the text is short or if you seem to think it's more important. I scan through text and skip parts as well but I wouldn't do that if I was performing a reading of the text for other people, which is essentially what you are doing.
So can I ask you again to slow down a bit with the text? Else you can also just skip it entirely. If anyone wants to read they can pause the video...
That is BS. Weapons who shoot rockets have a minimum arming distance.
To prevent exactly that. The Devs should fix that.
Same is for Grenades that get launched.
Or just don't be stupid and double check your lines of fire. Skill issue.
