@@Karlhto You don’t need an actual mixer these days in the chain. I would just recommend an audio interface straight into your computer-for Mac, maybe a Universal Audio Apollo. It comes with its own virtual mixer (console) software to manage your vocal chain the way you see fit.
@@logicaleyefx not really. If you know how to EQ and master the sound in post and to record properly, a 30 dollar mic will do you fine and most people will not be able to tell the difference from an expensive one. Mics don't fix lack of skill
@@logicaleyefx The harmonics are called formants with voices and the difference is tiny once you realize that most tracks are compressed due to the file format and the sampling rate. As I said, I doesn't matter as most platforms and distros compress the files and most people listen on cheap headphones, not being able to hear those, although there, but very subtle differences. You can tweak formants and edit them, it's not that hard once you read into it.
The sound reminds me of a Lewitt LCT 540 and the Lewitt has less self noise and only cost 700 bucks. Plus the Lewitt and the Sony both use 67 styled capsules. IJS
@@JuanNungaray oh I see, you’re one of those guys that thinks a piece of gear sounds better because it’s expensive. 😆🤣😂 It’s 2023 my guy, “mic modeling” is an actual thing.
Rooms with super high ceilings are great for recording/mixing. Just need really thorough acoustic treatment. I'd love to see more of your studio build downstairs as I am also currently building my studio but in a detached garage. That mic is the holy grail for urban/hip-hop/rap vocals. 🔥
I'd do anything to have a set up just like this one day - I will be able to get this! Even excluding the mic. I haven't been able to record in so long man
I still love Neumann mics the best of all and they are thousands cheaper than that Sony C800G, but everyone has their own preference for mics it's all to your taste of what you like!!!! Rock on Cap!!!!! cheers 👍🏼✌🏼🙏🏻💪🏼
Bro, I have a Sony c800g as well. If you had 1 million dollar microphone it won't improve your singing. Please have anybody sing besides you. Its all fun bro, keep making your music.
Yeah ima just continue screaming like a demon on my mxl 770. What would be tier step up from that 😂 Edit. Bro is goals now instead of wrapping a vette round a pole @ 200mph
In that room the sm7b sounds better to my ear. Sounds a lot fuller but the sony sounds like it has more detail. But because of the living room it picks up everything. When your studio done I'm sure the sony will sound miles better in a treated room.
That mic sounds so clean. Crazy how you can hear the noise floor drop with that mic vs the sm7b
Thats cause 7bs are specifically gain hungry though
Thats not a good thing
Yes, imagine a condenser mic sounding cleaner than a dynamic one. Witchcraft!
I've owned one for over 20 years ... great mic with the correct pre and compressor
Mf sound good as fuck going str8 in look like
Suggestions?
@@giorgioguerrini16 Sony C800g > BAE 1073 or any 1073 type preamp > Tubetech Cl1b or Teletronix LA-2A compressor
@@FunkyCHAcolatehey I looked up the equipment u named. Thanks, also what mixer do u suggest for them?

It does sound crispy. Nice buy man!
This is a learning lesson. Buying an expensive mic will not make you a better singer.
defined needs to work on his singing. Pitch is all over the place.
😂 He be alright with a little Melodyne.

the song still was enjoyable af though thats all that matters
Bro I got exited watching this. It sounds good.
🔥🔥🔥
Sounds hella clean 🧼
Big bag!!! For that mic
Where did you find a place with one in stock? Every place I've been looking is "OUT OF STOCK", and that includes Sweetwater.
Definitely need vocal lessons
The high end is next level on that mic, but this video is a good demonstration of room treatment and the benefit of dynamic mics.
Are these still made or did you buy a used one?

I know drake uses it lol iiiite
Microphone sounds like it has plugins built into it.
Ahaha!
Yes I had one, and I always wondered if it had a built in exciter and compressor

your voice sounded instantly sexier and manlier with the new mic
Even if can't sing this mic shapes your voice I can't imagine what would actually happen when mixing take place
Congrats on the new mic bro, it sounds incredible
I wash someway shocked realizing that c800g sounds better to me than Sm7b in “bad treated” room

10 THOUSAND DOLLAR MIC…. no sound treatment 🤦🏼♂️
*plugs in 10k mic and goes: a~~ah aaah aah*

that thing is pretty crisp and expensive sounding when you switched from the Sm7B lol!!!! wow 👍🏼🎤💎

he's clearly fucking around but that was hilarious to hear him audibly shit on the track lmfao
not that much of a difference compared to the other jawn

I still got that Kaotica eyeball. Just copped a warm audio version of this mic. I will add some mods but ain't nothing like the real thing
But you can def tell the difference
My voice would sound good on that mic 🤓
This dope to see
your room would be great for recording drums and orchestral instruments!
Congrats to the new investment 💯
best mic in the market 😍😍
also are you treating the audio in post for the comparisons? the sony has more body but seems resonant in the low mids from your room setup
the only difference that could notice was the sony was a bit more bassy and that was it !
Rooms great for recording with high ceilings higher the better
What interface are you using ? & what pre amp 👀👀🎈🎈
not a 10K difference but obviously better.
where did you buy it? I'm planning to buy one
.
Did you have a high pass filter on? the bass sounds so rich and smooth
One day I’ll buy mine until than I’ll keep using my ML 1 with the emulation 😅😅
Great mic too!
There go Sammy G with no hair and a great beard again
Great mic , thousand times better than sm7b
Hooooboooi 15k in that package baybee
