    Dan - love the work. huge amount of effort went into this build and you have made it a do-anything , go anywhere rig. your attention to the details and making it reliable/useable, is first class. quality work. thanks for the detailed explanation.

    Very nice conversion on the 4x4 , & on the entire build ! Seems like it was a very well thought out build , & slightly over built for reliable daily use day in day out ! Thanks for the video .

    I just found one almost identical in my girlfriend’s new neighbors backyard. It’s a mid 60’s model 2WD step side. I’m gonna go ask them tomorrow if they’ll sell it. If they will it’s getting a complete makeover with a transfer case, manual 6 speed and an International DT-360 diesel engine as it should have.

    Your 66 pickup walk around caught my attention...I need to rebrake a 56 travell all with discs and a hydro power assist ...also want to convert to drop down pedals and hydraulic clutch for a 6bt....what do you offer?
    Also want to hang discs off the 66 d 44 and d60....thanks..!

    • @TheBinderBoneyard
      @TheBinderBoneyard  3 роки тому +1

      That's all custom stuff you'll need to fabricate from scratch. No other front axle will fit under there because spring spacing is very narrow. You'll need to build the front axle or cut spring hangers off and widen them.

    • @immortalbonsai6037
      @immortalbonsai6037 3 роки тому +1

      I have a few notes on the 56 travelall. I spent 4 years putting a 6.9 idi into the stock frame rails of a '56 s120. Front disc brakes were tough to piece together. Kept the stock axle housing but from the spindle shaft out came off of a chevy. Getting the spindle machined was the toughest part besides forking out the cash. I did indeed get drop down pedals and hydraulic clutch to work.

      @@immortalbonsai6037 thanks for jumping in...not sure yet if I'm moving axle spring pads or frame spring hanger locations...i`ll be moving the rig to a more favorable spot to do fabbing on it...current spot is too close to fire breathing scrub brush. The 56 has a 66 front d44 and rear d60 with the 6 on 6.5. I was concerned the originals would not hold up to the 6bt. Like to exchange info via email if possible?

      @TheBinderBoneyard  2 роки тому +2

      Use the 4x4 position on the frame and bolt the shocks to the axle. It's pretty straight forward.

    • @TheBinderBoneyard
      @TheBinderBoneyard  Рік тому

      It's all dependent on what we have to start with, options and updates. 40 to 60k would be a starting number...
