There is nothing more satisfying than going to a custom hydraulic shop and asking how much will it cost and their reply is " how much you got" I have a feeling your channel is going to take off like a rocket as soon as the algorithm catches up.
Ain't that the truth haha. I appreciate you, thank you very much!!
Legend in the making i say!!
Yeah this guy has knowledge and personality, not to mention good taste in the jams he is layering over his speed filming
Can’t STAND working on drum brakes. No matter how strong you feel, a quick battle with those brake shoe springs will make you feel like a wuss. Impressed with your patience in getting them done.
Well, lucky me!! I was wondering what I was going to do tonight. Imagine my joy to find a fresh episode of Nock Ranch ready and waiting for me. YAY!!
Love the channel and the old truck!!
Thanks pally! Appreciate you
The star of the show is Mia I thought this was her car. Hope all is well Nocksville Good luck with the old Mercedes
Better safe than sorry on a maiden voyage. The love and affection scene made me lol. The Case is gonna get all hot and bothered by the International getting attention. Keep up the good work, appreciate the longer video in my humble opinion.
Thanks for the feedback! Yep, better safe than sorry
I own an old Series III Land Rover with the same oil filter setup. The only method I’ve discovered for pre-oiling the filter is by placing it in a bucket of new oil before installing it in the canister. I’m not sure if it has any real benefits, but it makes me happy.
At least gets it started! I'll give that a shot next time
Nice work. I can't believe you didn't take her out for a spin!
I mayyyy have given her a down n back on my street...haha! Full drive next Sunday!
Thanks for another awesome video can’t wait for next week to see how far u have gotten on the truck 😊
Thank you! First drive will be out on Sunday!
Do you have a habitat for humanity around your area? That’s a great place to find tools, you could pick up some brake pliers, adjusting spoons, and retainer spring turner driver pretty cheap. I hit the flea markets too.
When i bought my 94’ f250 IDI and it kept stalling because of a fuel leak, my dad would say all it needed was some love and affection and to know i cared for it so it would run good…$1.3k and some hugs later it runs great
Haha that's all they need!
nice video! excited to see her rolling down the street.
Woo!
Love your videos bud! I always look forward to them. You have quickly become one of my favorite people to watch. On the oiled rear bearings I always dump some gear oil through the bearing and roll it around some. I unfortunately get to do drum brakes on a regular basis since I have a trucking company lol. I'm not a huge fan either but you get used to them.
Appreciate you Colton. Thanks for the tip!
Making good progress. Always enjoy your videos
Thanks pal!
The joy of working on orphan vehicles is developing the skill to find & modify parts for other vehicles to make them work on your application.
1/2 joy, 1/2 curse. Always worth it though!
@@NockRanch Yep,, always had a soft spot for the Intenational Pickups, they were a favorite of my dad when I was a kid. The family car was an early 60's Travelall, and his drive to work vehicle was an 1100 pickup (the half ton version). If and when you decide to repair the eyebrows over the headlights, Fitzee's Fabrication here on YT has done several series on recreating unobtainable sheet metal parts.
Looking good buddy. keep it going. Really enjoy your channel
Thanks pal!
Just my two cents but Hobo Fright (Harbour Freight) has a set of brake tools for $14 USD. I'm sure you have lots of places to put your money but when i used to do brake work, i had one specialized lever for removing/installing return springs and another plastic handled jobby for removing the hold down springs. They worked slick. Cheers!
Just a classic case of "do I really need them?", then you get them and wonder why it took you so long haha
@@NockRanch Indeed!
Hey mic I noticed when you were putting your brake shoes on that you didn't lube your brake shoe contact points on your backing plate , there are six on each backing plate all it takes is a little dab of white lithium grease on each one , it prevents the shoes from wearing into your backing plate and keeps them from squeaking when they rub together 👍👍 By the way I have 11yrs experience at Midas doing brakes
Good point. I'll do this!
I've worked on cars for years and I never pre filled an oil filter, Never had a problem.
Zackly. How many garages that perform oil changes pre-fill filters and have you ever actually witnessed any issues when not pre-filling. Not that there is any issue with pre-filling afaik. Cheers from Eastern Canada. 🇨🇦
@@bradcrossman5068 Hello From South Bend Indiana 👍
Awesome video! Thank you and thank you for great content.
Thank you!
Subscribed today after watching for a few months. Love the chill style, please don't change that. Have you looked at doing some rust conversion on the undercarriage? Skyco Ospho is easy to apply.
Thanks for tagging along! And yes, I live and die by that stuff! I put it on my trailer in the "accidentally painted my trailer purple" video haha
Tough looking Truck has a Cool look.
Appreciate the comments. Thanks pal!
@@NockRanch your welcome just trying to help 👍
Great work...greetings from Costa Rica...Pura Vida🤘🤘🤘
Howdy!!
I wasn't gonna say anything, but since you brought it up, I did happen to notice that you are, indeed, about 20% short all right! Possibly next time you visit your local Medieval Torture Room aka Gym>you could hop on the rack and get the Hooded Torture Master to give it some really hard cranks! That should solve your issue! Oh, and You're Welcome, BTW!
hey hey hey... *average*
Cool thanks 👍😊
Hey I been watching your videos since you bought the bobcat. I appreciate you sharing I don’t watch alot of videos but I do enjoy watching your channel. Keep doing what you’re doing brother your channel will explode….🎉
Awesome to hear. I appreciate you watching when you can!
Maybe some super duty axles in the future? Would make a sweet video....
Definitely a thought!
Yes sir grease the bearings or gear oil ...jack the axle one side then the other just for good measure
Smart!
Congrats on the 5k and thank you for an enjoyable and humorous vid! You are certainly a black belt in meme usage and i truly enjoy the lounge music interludes. Carry on!!
I try my best. Thanks pally!
Rear wheel cylinders might as well say $70 a piece, Also through parts Geek.
cool
Eventually because of the unavailable status of them drums and who knows whatever else in that Dana differential, id consider swapping it with more recent 3/4 ton..it'll do you a favor bringing disc brakes with it. Ofcourse later, soon as you see how the thing holds up.. cheers from Toledo
Might have to! Cheers!
Great!
Part's Geek has front and rear Drums back one's $67.97 a piece
You got me blushin’ bro, incense, candles, and wine!????
Pump that piston and suck those bubbles
hahah just goofin' off!
Great videos! New fan here and a KMU co-worker. Lol
Well that’s gotta be Stockard. You’ve got some cool toys pal! Thanks for watching.
@@NockRanchmy cover’s blown!🤣🤣
@@The-Junkologist ha! I appreciate ya being here pal. Thanks!
Do the front fenders fix the holes in them 👍🏻
Just gotta find a truck to pull parts from!
The international is coming along nicely, can't wait to see it cruising down the road.
It's going to be a great video next Sunday!
Wine 🍷 Candle 🕯️ No Flowers 🌹 lmao 🤣
Hey I found a 1968 international 1200 pickup salvage iron garage on UA-cam has it not in good shape you might want to go to his channel and look at it and talk to him about it
Cool, thanks!
Have you contacted Anything Scout?
No, but I'll check them out!
Or a ford 9.75 out of a f150 then you could have disc brakes
Why not machine the rear drums?
You can pack those rear bearings with grease. Won’t hurt a thing.
Good thought, and maybe I will...They've just been so rusty for so long, the thinner parts of the drums are brittle. Meat n potatoes of them are good enough to get by, but not worth investment yet!
Get the wife to help
love the cool spotlight!
She works too! Wild
Master Cylinder - to T . . .to T = No proportional valving. All breaking equal to all wheels. Truck with most of the weight up front and an empty bed will be sketchy with nothing in the bed and rear wheels wants to lock up easier (think rain). Mind you . . I get it. You need the pure basics to see what else could halt the process. BUT. . . Since you were working with custom fab due to unobtainium. . . I cannot understand why not install a T fitting for the front lines down on the frame nice and clean, and a new line from the master cylinder down to a T that feeds front and back all hard line? For the life of me I cannot see a single reason for soft lines in that setup. What you have will work. But damn that collection of hardware for the front . . .in the Cleveland salt and snow .. and well that truck and all that steel at 45 to 55 mph and something go wrong and you use a tesla to slow down could be bad news. Just mechanic to mechanic. Love your videos. Please do the carb on the wife's car again. We miss her!
Would a truck this age even have proportional braking from the factory?
@@coltonkruse2313 Not sure . . .but it is not about factory when it comes to safety with the idiots that drive our roads these days.
@@SirPoopyPants yeah you aren't wrong about that. Funny all the small safety stuff you forget about when you work on vehicles 40-50 years newer than this truck.
No proportioning valves back then, but not a bad idea! Might have to go back and put one in eventually.
@@NockRanch - I can only say that when you look at this truck. . its ALL metal. Mass, weight. Stopping that mass when it is moving is actually more than normal (in todays plastic parts and thin metal era). New drum brakes all around will get the job done. It's not like your racing it on a track. Your work is solid. It will work perfectly fine. At 50+ I can only say my experience is that when I do that job, I then think "brake system is all new (unspoken - finished)" and stop thinking about it. I have seen what salt does. I know why they have the proportional valves and what it does. And I have had the need for a change of underwear when I need those brakes and either the noise of locked up tires (bad) or the sudden hard to hit the floor feeling of the system failure right before the loud impact sounds (worse). Lesson of life here? You can do a lot of things less than perfect on a vehicle. But Brakes. . . no.
