They never expected us to rise through the ashes. Again! And again! This sista is the lost treasure that shines so bright...it's blinding!
A perfect comment to describe the Queen.

So true and accurate.
My mom, son and I met MoNique at a Farmers Market and she is so nice! Like she speaks to you as if she actually see you! My son is 6 and he was so happy to meet her! My Mom is a huge fan! I never seen my Mom fan out over no celebrity but it was wonderful to meet MoNique! Such a genuine and beautiful person.
Monique is a legend and I will honor her my whole life. I appreciate a woman who is bold like me. She will never be replaced!
Gotta respect Sydney & Monique at the end of the day
Oh most definitely. They not taking whatever the industry throws at them lying down, they not taking it period. Same for David
FREEDOM- EMANCIPATION
Monique bucks the system and they don’t like that.✊🏿
She needs to leave hubby at home. He aint the talent
Cornerkick Media nah he’s a strong black man who rides for his strong black woman
1pimpafro He’s a no talent Mgr who tanked her career. No other clients. He doesn’t earn! Lives off her. Ruins any screen she is on. Making her call him daddy in public. Crazy! But pimps do prefer to hone in on lifelong abuse victims. And here we are. A decades talent talkin next to nobodies on a podcast. Small showtime fee. Alienating the problematic Black and YT greats. For what? Who is he? What he ever done but take advantage of her mental?
1pimpafro Sid is clearly Moniques son. She pays. He got in her head and created a role for his bum ass. Open marriage. We know he enjoys a little ... evvy now & then... ahh ahhh ahh ah ah-
She is a Harriet Tubman in 21 Centuries I'm THAT Sister Hood. living in BUFFALO Clearning Up my Neorighood. Everywhere i can
I love Monique! She is the symbol Black woman strength! ♥️🖤💚✊🏾
Sonya Young facts
And that's what their scared of
Sonya Young No, she’s unemployed! She ain’t got shit to do, so now she’s ready to be a mother and a wife? No TV or movie projects, no stand-up comedy dates. Here she is on an off-beat podcast with her unemployed husband ‘dropping knowledge’... That’s NOT strength, it’s DESPERATION to stay relevant, hoping somebody/anybody will notice and offer her a job or a way out of the deep hole she’s dug for herself! And Sidney, with NO job, NO income, state n federal back taxes due, young children at home, reassures her “it’s going to be ok”??
@@tonym1323 if the podcast so "offbeat " why watch it? Im just curious
Stephanie Parrott I’m curious too...how long can MoNique go on crying the same sad song before she decides to get on with her life? Every now and again when I come across an interview, I tune in for a few minutes to see if any lessons have been learned. The answer in 10yrs since ‘Precious’, an emphatic NO! She’s standing alone because others in entertainment know she’s full of shit...her cause was never about civil justice, it’s ALWAYS been about more money for Monique, at Sidney’s direction. And he screwed up her career, completely!
Oprah has shown us that Monique has always been right about her.
Facts
Yup and to bad a lot of us didn't have her back when she was trying to tell us
2 times
Oprah aint never said shit about Monique. It takes 2 to Feud. I will have to hear O side before I judge as someone that has had someone said shit about me the longest.. and know that If you still use Netflix you’re still not on Mo side
@@ayoayo7730 I am so sick of hearing about Monique's feud with O. Move the hell on. If Monique were that powerful, they why isn't she starting her own production company? WHY? She has wasted ten years talking about he same ish.
*Thank You David Banner* for bringing Mo on. She is a true Heroine, just as you are a true Hero. And to have Syd having her back like that and loving her like that is so heartwarming.
Best moment on this show: *When she said 'I was that Boss Bitch all day....and then I met a King'* And you had your powerful music playing over her strong words......I just lost it. Amazing.
Monique did more for black music in two seasons than Oprah did her whole career..
Troy Hughes this right here
@kaykay69 Yes! Were all on IT. IT is more important than the average ignorant person may think.
That's not true. All the money she donates to black colleges. You might not like Oprah don't take away what's put out there good and bad.
@@polmphoto-212 that is true
@@ParentalDiscretionIsAdvised I just meant in general. People like to put black people against one another. They wat to be on the right side of things or what they feel is right. I was just stating Oprah has done a lot love or hate her. No one can't take that away from her. It's like Cosby what he did for the advancement of black people can't be deny but all people remember today is what he's accused of. People take the pieces of someone's story to fit the narrative.
This woman AINT LIED NOT ONE DAMN TIME. I SOOO STAND WITH HER!!
So true David!! When you went to shame and discredit someone loud and publicly like you said use the same energy to apologize and make your wrong right publicly just as loud!!
I felt that when he said that
Yes! I totally agree! That's what is lacking nowadays.
Monique we love you and respect you for speaking your viewpoint with integrity. 🌅❤
Majority folks don’t think for there self’s, when this started I knew Monique and her husband spoke the truth... never understood the hate because she was one with husband, still don’t. Truth never wavers so now where seeing😘 peace and love
Stacy Malloy 😘
TRUTH💯💯💯
Ikr, her side made sense. The other if they had proof, they would have brought forward but they didn't.
I’m Glad to hear brothers and sisters speak up we all need to unite
B1 WOKE- UNITY IS POWER. #HARAMBE #REVOLUTION
‘...and then I met a king. And then I had to retire’.
That hit different. Yes Mo!
Monique husband is wise. He knows how to listen and speak eloquently
Admire her strength and candor and her husband for standing by his queen and she, him. Respect!
Kudos to David Banner - always a REAL ONE too!!!!!!!!💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is "real" black media at it's finest. You're Legends and Icons, Monique and David Banner. 💯💯❤❤💥💥 Thank you!!
This interview speaks to her integrity. You can't buy that!!!!
Wow, didn't even know David Banner had a podcast
Welcome!
koilk wit his fine ass... I love southern men!
Love Monique. Glad she shared her perspective of what went down. Blessings always to her.
When you don't bend or play by the rules and think for yourself folk get mad! I love it!!! Keep goin Mo!! 😍
This is the most positive and intellectual podcast I’ve ever seen or heard
Wayyyyy better than the Biased Breakfast Club...
BIASED ASF!
PHAT 1984 I just wish he would stop with the background music and sound effects
Real recognize...I guess fake don't 🤷
90% of The Breakfast Club videos are "The Rumor Report"
I love Monique. I don't even know any sista's like her. I'm still waiting to run across this kind of woman. She straight-up black power! If we ever put together a army she should definitely be on the council.. she stay banging for the black woman but most of them don't even got her back. That's wild 🤔
the power of self loathing is wild frfr.
We are out here. We are. It takes a secure man and a secure woman to accept that type of light, fire and power. When she found a real king, she not only let her guard down to accept him - he allowed her strength to deepen and heighten at the same time; he wasn't intimidated. That builds love, trust and respect on a solid rock of friendship. They are down for each other no matter what!
JUST BEAUTIFUL!!!!!
Loved what Sidney said about his Grandmother and Black women as a whole; he really gets it.👌🏽
That's a whole 'nother level of understanding.........
That's evolvement.💯
@B.S. MBA what black "kangs" do you speak of who punch their women? or you chose to clearly ignore this obvious example set by sidney n how he reveres his queen? these matters are clearly not yours to speak on.
@B.S. MBA
You are a white troll. Stay out of black folks business.
@B.S. MBA
Spoken like a true white troll. Be gone
Monique’s mentality is a revolution in itself. She won’t accept shorts of any sort. As we become as brave as her this system will have to bow. #salute
Love that she had an opportunity to talk! And after this I see her husband differently!
U saw him in a negative light before?
He always let her speak, that is what I respect the most about him.
I RESPECT Monique for speaking on what's happening to her mind. She isn't disrespectful, she is matter of fact.
Huh
Mona Mona I made myself very clear
I didnt understand the matter of fact part prior to last statement before that.
The moment David asked for Monique's counsel, her who message gave me chills I swear! David dropped that dope ass beat behind those prolific words and it just sent chills through my whole body!! Thanks King and Queen for those gems! Peace and Blessings to ya'll keep this up David, LOVE!
As of Baltimore Ian I thank you David Banner for showing love and allowing Monique and Sidney to have the floor to share the full truth. I'm disappointed that her fellow Queens of Comedy didn't even go to bat for her or try to interviene.
Monique interview starts at 6:15
I wish I seen this before watching all that mess 😭
Thank you 😊❤️
Thank you.
Moe put Miguel on her show before he was known. I didn't understand her fight at first, but as time went on I got it.
B.O.B also!
Esperanza Spalding too! I definitely salute her.
Interviews are better and better every time. Loving the progress of this podcast. Great interview!!! Monique andd her husband support each other with so much pure love. Gotta respect that ✊🏾
The way she loves and speaks about her husband #Respect some black men wish for that type of Queen .
That is why Black women have yet to reach the top 10 list of highest paid actresses. They are settling . There is no way that Whoopi should be afraid to ask for what she is truly worth!!!
@@dj5000cds when you change your last name from johnson to goldberg that should tell you her mentality.
Wasn’t Halle Berry on the top 10 list consecutively at some point..
" and then I met a King" 😮 goosebumps 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹 if she didn't just speak life and meaning into the atmosphere Wow!
20:56 when David Banner drop the beat and Moniq starts dropping some Diamonds 💎 priceless! Everybody need that session! 🔥
Monique is absolutely phenomenal!!! This Queen is so far ahead of her time; but at a moment in time when WE need her most !!!
20:58 would be a crazy intro to a song...MY GOODNESS
1619 -2019 our 400 years are up ...let's get it my people ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
Would be dope if Banner did a podcast mixtape with all the songs he was fooling around with. I would buy it
You are 100% correct but keep in mind the real calendar is the Enoch calendar. Our new year began March 24th...these White Elite: Jewish Greek Roman Spanish Arab Chinese but mainly European MFs have been lying to us way too long. Truth is setting us free and giving us a confidence level like no other....the wool over our eyes have been lifted!!!!
Word! if your weight ain’t up you gone perish💜💛💯
It's time for us to start our own economy.
@@MidwestBrotha wooooow smh ...
Sid spoke truth to power. Women in most senses feel when it's time for us to grow businesses, have an opinion we are not heard.
I find that we are not supported as much or the man is jealous of our success.
Mrs. Monique and Mr. Sidney all I see is spiritual evolvement here. They both spoke the story of many black men and women from our typical black perspective ! So much humility engulfed unwavering strength! Black beautiful spiritual raw happiness as one. I'm proud you belong to"US" 💜💜💜

So proud of you David... I've watched your work since you started and I'm amazed at how God works through you.
bruh mo'nique was snapping 🔥🔥🔥 .. strait hot fire that was some real shit she was saying
It was good Mo’Nique talked about the price of celebrity in regards to children. They don’t care about the big house and basketball court if mom is never at home.
At this point, I wish she would start putting her energy in developing her own and/or pairing up with black folks who want to do such as well and keep doing her thing that way because Hollywood is Hollywood, and that ain't changing unless we own it. Period.
I absolutely love this!!! Thank you so much for being there for our people, my husband and I watch your POD Casts often and we appreciate you so much in our community! Big ups to you My Brother!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🌌🌌👊🏾
Some people go through the struggle for the people, but the people struggle to support that person that's for The People!!!
“How’s dare you?!” I felt that.
4 real, she had me crying!
Leslie from Saturday Night Live... she is standing on her own. She has had such a hard time because being a big black woman. Leslie is so so funny... but, SNL didn't appreciate her.
Yes she is. Hilarious 😂. Love her
@@vikeyshamurray7553 SHE NOT THAT FUNNY ALL DOES IS MADE UGLY FACES
I wasn't ready for this!!! 💯💯💯💯
I love the fact that David highlighted the part of the interview where Monique spoke about what makes her smile everyday. Trust me that was a power message that ALL WOMEN need to hear. LOVE YOU MO'NIQUE N DON'T YOU EVER STOP!!!
The masses are so used to being mislead, when the true and real leader(s) appear it cause them to have to use their minds to think for a change. That is frightening so they crucify the true (get them out of sight) in order to keep the false. Monique still believes in all of it because it is not an act, she and her king are the real deal. So are you Mr. Banner! Thank you for a great interview!
AQ AQ Factz 💯💯💯💯
This was such a Genuine conversation. I appreciate it
This was Great interview! Thanks Mr. David Banner. This how you do an interview allowing her speak and not just focus on what she "said" in past. The questions were awesome!!👏👏 love you asked her and talked about family and kids!!
One thing about Her she NEVER changed her story. I believe her when she 1st said it because when i was younger and lived in Chicago my family watch opera and i dnt recall her having not many of us on show and when she did it was to bash them unless it was someone in the industry like Sidney Poitier or Late Beautiful Maya Angelou or Late Great Toni Morrison. But the average African American humm nope..
There is no equal to a strong black couple who stand for the same thing!
Please say Black Woman, and Black People. Not people of color, we are not the same.
Wtf you mean black man, black person?
He mean, say black people instead of the browns- Hispanics or the yellows -asians, which are other people of color.
Johnny Williams That God for people like you.
Black people needs to stop being said too. It's a misnomer and makes you outside of the law. You are Moors/Muurs. Know thyself
@@jacobbey1465 I know who I am, and you sound foolish.

This is real life not some drama shit
It's possible but she is going to have to create it.
@@modeninenaira2217 damn can someone just say they want to see her in movie???

“Tell me about the “schooling” you were going to give… 😂😂😂😂 I know thats right Monique.
This conversation is so deep on so many levels!! Thank you David Banner Podcast! I needed 2 hear this! Love David & his team, always loved Monique & Sydney!!
Charlemagne didn’t speak up for her... but David banner did
@ 37:00 is Real Talk! Thats the thing my mother missed out on, chasing the bag ie workaholic. My husband is the same way too! Yes,Missing out on the children golden years is Real
Oh thank you so much... I didn't have to watch this whole thing.!
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Keep standing and shining King and Queen! The exchange between husband and wife in this episode was EVERYTHING! So glad to see us studying, loving and thanking each other instead of the negative norm! As an indie author my biggest fan base are prisoners (black males). It amazes me that they cared so much about a book, let alone MY book.
I love and will forever stick by Mo'Nique
I'm tired of having to sacrifice for everything.
That's life fam.
I know right it's like black people have to work twice as hard to get where we need to be in this world while other races get things handed to them because their skin isn't black smh.

Her husband really gets it. He described the perfect way a man can truly support a powerful woman. He supports her and she honors him for it. People don't understand that.
The Rona rap was good

Loved this show family. I thank brother Banner and Queen mother Monique for the HISTORIC, candid , genuine energy. Thank you both for being true voices..
Thank you for the show with Queen Monique, but I don’t agree with shaming the producer with the 🧤 and 😷. We don’t know enough about this Covid-19 to play experts. I don’t know the producers stance, but I do know that the elderly are susceptible. It’s not about just protecting yourself, but it is also about protecting the vulnerable.
So true. We don't know the girlfriends health status. Protect who you can. Still I love David banner.
😂😂
Relaaxxxxx.... It's our brand humor
Tupac calls it “thug life” and I call it heroic. Thanks God for this sister and her lifelong partner. Our Freedom Fighters are the people we need to celebrate and protect at all costs.
The shade from Monique; “ most mogul B*****s are lonely B*****s” throwing shade at Oprah!!!!!
bmich H why does she think Oprah is lonely? Is it because Oprah’s not in an open marriage? Or still trying to deal with the effects and guilt of abandoning a child who is not 30. Lonely because she has a career that’s not built on whining and crying? Monique is a con artist. And that’s why she isn’t moving forward. Still running in pace on the treadmill
This could be anyone. I've seen some lonely boss bit@hes
And I'm here for it....Monique is right

The breakfast club I remember man I was battling in that comment section for Monique and her husband... Man our people just didn't see it then but man I cut off my netflix account and everything for Monique... I always believed in what Mo and her husband was telling us. I am glad that our people see it now but like David said Monique's career was on the line and they sacrificed and stood against all odds for not just her career but also for other black women.
She's right. Eventually, we all have to STAND UP for ourselves and walk through that door by yourself!! AND YES, IT IS SCARY BUT GOD IS WALKING RIGHT BY OUR SIDE. BELIEVE AND HAVE FAITH.
I have to say this I've learned many things from being allowed to view parts of Mo'Nique's life one thing she has taught me is I'm not a fan I'm a sister and you can't and don't have to love everyone the world says you should a still be whole She made me SAY it my truth and not be ashamed or feel bad for telling my truth and also to stand up boldly for the person I love because only you really know when you know who really loves you back Mo'Nique salute the sister in my head and my heart blessings to you and your family I appreciate you
