In my opinion also the composite models are nice, despite the thing that AUTOart make them really expensive, and the thing that makes me unhappy is that if it’s all plastic, it should be less expensive😔
Hi Yikang, yes I exactly agree with you the price is the main point as it does not live up to the quality, if AUTOart made these models cheaper and more affordable they would be more popular but because they are the same price as AUTOart signature models but nowhere near the same detail it’s annoying, please subscribe for more videos to come soon 👍
Hi, yes absolutely they feel so so cheap and really light compared to the old signature series models. The detail is okay and they look good but the detail inside and out is not on par with the signature series. I won’t be buying another composite model I’m trying to get some more signature models. Thanks for watching more videos to come soon. Cheers
I'm thinking the actual problem is in the head. Composite is much lighter and this makes it feel cheaper. But the details can be even much finer than with metal. But of course details and functions are made by the manufacturer of the model. So I don't think it is so much of a step down. But of course I am thinking that models made of composite material has to be cheaper than metal.
Hi BFD Drives, yes that's is a good point the details on these new composite models are good and overall it is a good model to collect, but for me i think it's not the same as the old autoart models in terms of the overall weight of the model and the finer the details that are present in the best autoart models like the zonda r and bugatti models. Also the composite models aren't cheaper than the old diecast models my 918 cost £211 and the new huayra bc costs over £300 i think which is more than the signature series models. I think the price of these composite models is the main problem if autoart lowered the price than i would collect them but its way overpriced now. I would rather buy the old signature series models rather than the new composite models. Please subsribe for more videos to come soon. Thanks.
Composite has a lot of advantages: -It's easier to put paint on it, and thus most if not all models have "clean" paint. (bubbles in the casting for example) -No corrosion over time. -Easier to manufacture, and thus, the details can be even more accurate and realistic than with die-cast metal. -It's more flexible, thus, harder to break, even though it's very light. -Compared to resin models, it has movable parts. And... it's cheaper, it's the reason why AutoART decided to go with it rather than resin or die-cast metal. The problem is... AutoART did not decrease their prices, but rather, improved their profits, and that's what's pissing people off, and with good reason. I have bought many composite AutoART models, and they all look fantastic, the Regera, the Chiron, the EB110, the LFA... And I will still keep buying them. But they will never hold that "special" place that AutoART Signature models have in them. They are die-cast perfections. Even the AutoART Milleniums were already close to that perfection and again, for the same price as AutoART is selling their composite models right now. The Regera for example, I bought it because it was the best close-to-real-life model I could find and also in that amazing Horizon Blue color, but it's nowhere near worth 399€... About 280€ at best. I bought it at ck-modelcars. However, I bought the Chiron for 269€ and the EB110 for 239€, and at those prices, while still a bit too high (sub 200€ would've been ideal), it's a lot more sensible. But I bought these at escala-18. So sometimes, it depends where you buy them from. Old AutoART Signature models went for between 300-400€ in the past, but they were well worth their price. Some were even cheaper than that. Shame I wasn't into collecting them back then, and I also didn't have the money for them either.
Having have a few autoart’s in both diecast and “composite” or just plastic, whatever the heck it’s made of, I don’t have any issues with the comps. Yes, much lighter, they have little magnets for the hoods, trunks and doors, but I find the detail to be just as good. I just hate how they’re prices are soaring so I’ve been trying other companies and to be quite honest, I’m stupidly impressed with their details for (in some cases) less than half the price of autoart. They have carpet, floor mats, seatbelts, rear wheels actually turn the driveshafts and spring loaded hinges on the hoods! They’re also diecast metal. ;)
Hi yep I agree I have not had any issues with the AUTOart composite models and they are fairly detailed but it’s when you compare them to the old AUTOart signature models where you can see the small difference in details that make the models better 👍
which brands have you been buying? I stopped buying Autoart once they went composite. I have the AE86 all 3 versions and the composite version was just disappointing. If I'm paying a premium I want something good.
Why is the weight so important? What is the issue with the material other than weight? You keep saying that the old one is better but why is it better what is these details? Surely as long as composite is durable and the finish of the body is smooth.
Hi Phil, the weight is not important aesthetically diecast metal is heavier than composite materials but the composite models tends to be more expensive than there diecast metals models which i feel is too high for the overall level of details. The quality of materials used is better on the signatures series (e.g. badges, shut lines, interior details, exclusivity) the composite models are not bad models but from my experience far from autoart's best models - its an interesting topic?
