I’m hoping to get into security forces. I’m talking with my recruiter and she’s trying to sell me mechanical jobs. Not buying it. Taking the practice asvab, she said the soonest I’d be able to leave (going to basic wise) is October. Wish me luck
@@ivendre I ended up signing up under CE, (pavement and construction) which was the worst job in relation to my personal interests. Security forces at the base i enlisted at was overmanned and there was no way I’d get it at that time. I ended up going to basic in April instead of October, there was a lot of drag time that caused me to go to college part time with all of the uncertainty that my recruiter put me through. I eventually ended up cross training into personnel for the diversity opportunity. I’d still be able to work with security forces and a few other units so that’s fun.
These troops are mostly weekend-ers (quarterly drills). 219th SFS is part of the NDANG. Full time SF work is typically shifts from 8 up to 12 hours depending on the schedule chosen by squadron leadership.
I'm glad I found this video because my shipping date is August 10 & I'm doing security forces.
