Is this like a powerful CB radio? Is the one you're getting mounted in your car the same, basic thing but more powerful? From reading a bit on the Rocky Talkie website, it seems like it's just a step down from a HAM license. Is that right?
Yeah to my knowledge GMRS and FRS are a lot more popular these days. The one that I’m installing in my vehicle is 15watts I believe, so it’s quite a bit more powerful. And yeah the GMRS license is very easy, no test cheap fee and I believe it’s good for around 10 years.
