As a person working in the creative industry i am okay with the aspect ratio of the game if used for a stylistic presentation. Aspect ratios matter how content is perceived and i like them trying this in game design... Let's see how it looks and feels
oh yeah absoloutely. but it kinda goes against the open nature of PC and people expect to adjust all kinds of settings.

Marketing is very highly correlated with sales, but it is also super expensive, so this is most likely just Xbox releasing this to unalive.
Its very hard to market a tech demo.

Was the game compiled in UE5.4? Hows parallel cpu utilization in the renderer?
I honestly like the mystery in the lack of marketing, no overhyped shit storm coming then.
I trust ninja theory, and all the fans that are hyped about the game are hyped because of the last fantastic game, rather than hyped up by some cinematic trailer that can misconstrue the game massively due to corpo buttholes that want to make it out to be bigger and greater than is possible.
Thought you guys would have mention the concern why no review codes have been given out or at least allowed to be discussed or shown if they did...

The press and content creators got their review copy two days ago. There is an embargo so they won't be able to upload their review until an hour before the game is released

Hellblade 1 had amazing graphics/performance on xbox series x. They could just keep game looking the same for performance mode and give us 60 fps, no one cares about good graphics while game is unplayable.
I agree. 30fps is coming back on consoles in a big way. I recently decided to buy a PC because there's no way I'm going back to 30fps or 60fps720p.
I've got the i5 12600k and the 10GB 3080. I should have a nice enough 4K experience with some tweaking I would have thought.

@VittorioBaldini1997 I'm not expecting to max the game out at 4K, 60fps, but my CPU is the same CPU recommended for 4K, 60. I can't imagine I'd have a hard time if I use DLSS and turn some settings down. Failing that, I'll run it at 1440p. I intend to play this game on my sofa with a controller instead of at my desk with a keyboard and mouse (I use a 55" LG OLED as my monitor on my desk but I have my sofa right behind my chair so I can game both ways) so the viewing distance will be a bit further away and the clarity shouldn't be much different.
VRAM container @ 8GB, but for 1440p rez and down... Welp, series S is what I need to see specs for and how they optimize it.
I've read in the forums that the first game is extremely good. I haven't played it yet because I wasn't sure if this was grossly demented. Some reported this is actually about mental illness. I'll wait for the reviews. My next big must have title is Black Myth Wukong.
I enjoyed it and would recommend. Pretty linear / on rails so there weren't too many points where you wondered where to go next. I'd suggest playing that first to get a proper intro to the main character.
Definitely give the first game a shot. It's not everyone, though. If it resonates with you, it will blow your socks off. But if you don't feel hooked within the first hour or so, you probably never will. It's not a long game (~7 hours) - but it is pretty heavy and it can be exhausting, because it is all about Senua's mental health.
Underrated game. Many are put off by the slow game play but I'm glad I was patient with this one because it pays off. It's more of an experience than a traditional game, so if you think of it like that and let yourself be immersed it's amazing. It's about what you see and hear, playing on myths with psychological elements.

I think its 30fps guys. Check out Alan Wake 2 on rtx 3080 in 1440p with ray tracing of course. You will get around 30fps there as well.

I have yet to play the first one. I want to play it before this one but now I'm not in a hurry because my RX 7800 XT will burn with these requirements. I'm on 1440p.

@@Dezzyyx The requirements didn't say FPS target. I assume the chart is for 30FPS which means the game isn't easy to run. Probably push cards to the limit.
I do hope ultrawide monitors won't still have the black bars. We'll see, I am excited about this and hope it turns out great.
Black bars will cause OLED burn in.That would be an instant uninstall if this is so,for me.

Though 60 fps should be the norm for current generation consoles, this and The Matrix Awakens demo's graphics make 30 fps at least justifiable
The resolution was low and the scale of the game isn't big enough to justify it. At least Starfield has a big scale, remembers what happened in the world, and is on a potato engine.
"scale" and resolution aren't the only factors that affect framerate target. It's a little more nuanced than that.

I'm getting tired of seeing so many developers using unreal for their titles. I get it, they look absolutely fantastic, but most of the time they always launch with issues and if you look at what most people own for gpu's on steam, most people could barely start these titles without crazy sacrifices to overall quality. I have a 6800 and already feel like I have to upgrade soon. For each their own I guess..

To be completely blunt you shouldn't go for AMD right now because their reconstruction technique is terrible and every single modern game, especially UE5, relies on reconstruction to achieve both playable framerates and acceptable image quality, with "acceptable" becoming "great" if you have DLSS, so don't go for AMD until they get their shit together.
@@steel5897 I've had AMD for a while now and haven't had issues for what I want at all until recently. For my system a 3080 was far too expensive and a 3070 is weaker in most other titles. I'll pass for now.
@@Chazikiss1 I'm hoping FSR 3.1 delivers on the image quality front. Until then your best bet is using TAAU which isn't bad in UE5 titles, or XeSS on the handful of games that support it.
I'm stuck on a 3070 myself and the VRAM limitations are starting to affect me, but also the 40 series is too expensive for too small a jump so I'm also waiting for the right upgrade opportunity.

It's a game pass game so nobody gets their hopes up. The only game that surprised me on game pass was Lies of P.
Really just hope it just isn't a stuttering mess, UE5 has just not been great from what I've played so far in that regard.

@@NL0Gwenster Playing devil's advocate, The Evil Within used a shitty shader which effectively acted as a JPEG in front of the graphics to simulate the black bars, so all pixels were being utilized even when displaying the area as black. Now that's bad.

Native 1440p on a Native 1440p - 240hz monitor is the way to go with RTX 4090. Unfortunately many bought into the 4K hype and refuse to acknowledge this. No need for upscaling gimmicks / frame gen, just a prestine Native image (on 1440p Native Display) with no negative impact to input lag or visual artifacts and 90 FPS+.
Regardless, PC has FAR more powerful CPU's vs. the 3.5 GHz Zen 2 in the consoles. So 60 FPS isn't likely going to be an issue on PC. Doubt "frame gen" will be required for 60 FPS on all put the most anemic of CPU's.

You know that Xbox would be making the port of the game too. And by 60fps, do you mean 4K 60. Which is nearly impossible with this game’s graphical fidelity. Or do you mean a graphics option for lower resolution with dynamic scaling, which is something that would naturally come to all platforms if a port were to be made.

Sadly I think this game is going to do poorly. Non-existent marketing, hard to run at 60+fps, niche-type game (mental illness, cinematic, not much to the gameplay, likely short). I'm interested but the average person probably isn't. It's a shame because the tech behind this game is incredible and the first game was unique.
It's a relatively inexpensive game with a small team. GTA6 has literally 50x the team size, so it doesn't need to do GTA6 numbers. The first game only sold a million and was considered a big success. A huge marketing campaign would only increase the number needed to be successful.
Gayblade 2 will be the biggest flop this year.
