@redshadowswolf7406if they made them fairly easy to search that could be fine. Either way though you probably don’t want to include more than 2 if you can only do it once a game
@@ChazBlanks I'd say make it more like Prism Star, no limit on how many but one copy of each. I find that such a good idea and it would encourage more creative deckbuilding.
I say mega evolutions should be added in a way with a combination of how breaks work. For example, it should add onto whatever ex it evolves to. With a similar effect and the added spirit links to prevent turn ends, but it should apply the relicanth ability/break effects where you can use the previous ex attacks. For example, if we got Mega Gardevoir ex, evolved from the SV Gardevoir ex. You can use its ability, its 190 damage attack, and whatever is on the Mega evolution pokemon.
I love that idea! Breaks look kinda ugly, but I love the idea. It would be fun to see Megas and Break return at the same time, so I could try them both. lol As a new player, those mechanics seem really fun.
@essurio Overall, the megas should be semi similar to how it was when they were in the game. I loved the addition where they had the japanese text of their attack around the pokemon. I played during this time and it was a blast to learn. I didnt like the look of the breaks, but they became meta relevent with Yanmega and Geninja. I think it can work well with this meta if the hp increased by only 30-50 to balance out attacks, and only be applied to those who had mega evolutions in x and y
I wonder what will happen in 2026 for the TCG because we are more than likely not going to have gen 10 sets yet. Will next year be a 4th year of SV? Does that mean going forward each era has 4 years of sets compared to 3 nomally
30th anniversary of Pokémon in 2026. I would expect some celebrations type set to be the main highlight of that year. So that might be why we have a longer SV era time will tell
@@Knsy The problem is when will that set be? Will prob get the trainer Pokemon recap set in Jan 2026 and maybe two special/anverseis sets in mid 2026 as a send off. Because Gen 10 has to come out next year with Gen 10 TCG most likely in Feb/March of 2027
My idea for the Mega Evolution Mechanic revamp: When you play a Mega Evolution card to evolve on of your Poke'mon in play, add the bottom card of your deck to your prize cards face down, then shuffle those prize cards. Justification: I'm assuming that Mega Evolutions are going to be so busted there has to be a downside to playing them, kind of like paying an additional cost for them. So a player has to decide whether he wants to Mega Evolve or not, if he does, he needs to take an additional prize card to win the game. Like if he evolves 1 mega, he needs to take 7 prizes. Similarly, if he mega evolves 3 megas in a game, he needs to take a total of 9 prizes. [This calculation is made on the assumption that Megas are going to give up only 2 prize cards and not 3 (I think Pokemon learned from their mistake of tag teams and Vmax and wont repeat that shit again) So your opponent only need to KO 3 megas in a game to win. Players may end up needing to KO 4 or even 5 megas if both players are mega evolving their pokemon]. OR They can just make a minor twist to the original Mega Evolution Rule, instead of ending the turn, they can just make it so that the Pokemon that Mega evolved cannot attack for the turn. This is like Summoning sickness which many MTG players will be familiar with. This does mean that your other pokemon can still atttack. This revamp, I think will make for interesting deck builds since you need to slot in single prize, non-mega rule box pokemon along with your mega lines to make it a competitively viable deck.
At the very beginning of the scarlet and Violet set, I was making some custom cards. I made some mega pokemon that would evolve from Pokemon ex, but the mega Pokemon would bring back the “EX” just for a little bit of flare. They all had 1 powerful attack, they gained about 80hp compared to their ex pre-evolution, and still had the end you turn rule, but for the spirit link cards, I added to those where the mega Pokemon would gain an ability that was printed onto the spirit link card. For example, the gyarados spirit said something like: “your turn does not end if the Pokemon this card is attached to becomes M Gyarados EX. The M gyarados EX this card is attached to gains the ability of this card. Wicked Wave: If this Pokemon has 10 or more damage counters on it, its attacks do 100 more damage.” Anyway, I hope they do something like that, or make it a “level up” mechanic like Pokemon break and Pokemon Lv x where they keep the traits of their previous stage.
Megas will prob have to work like the originals since no one is prob going to play stage 4’s . We will also prob get a lot more items and support mons towards Megas like Noctowl and maybe reprinting mega turbo And I think only Abomasnow, Bannete, and Medicham don’t get a mega card since Absol got a premium collection. XY and SUMO had a lot of cancelled products for some reason
As the biggest fan of Mega Evolutions (not the mechanic) I am very excited for this! Also, a little correction, We have THREE months, NOT FOUR for rotation to come into effect. In fact, the rotation takes place on March 27th for the Live, the online client, so that's even less than 3 months. Play your Vstars and Vmaxes whiles you still can.
Ive thought about this a lot, because im INSANELY excited for Z-A and i think it would be really cool for megas to come back to the tcg I kind of hope we dont go to basic EX's again, i think it would be kind of weird to switch the dominant 2 prizer archetype in the middle of a set series, and i think theyd be a little too similar to V's and Vmax's/Vstars. I would LOVE to see *lowercase* ex megas to play off of what's been established in scarlet and violet, whether they evolve from ex or non ex pokemon. some other people have mentioned being mechanically similar to breaks, and i want to throw LV.X's into the ring for mechanical similarities, i just think it would be so cool to see stage 3-esque pokemon again 😊 In terms of differences to previous megas, i think it would be nice if there could be just a general purpose "mega stone" tool card, rather than a spirit link for each individual mega pokemon (or none at all for some of them!) idk how it would affect balancing between megas (maybe they could intentionally omit certain spirit links for notably stronger mega pokemon), or maybe they would change how megas work entirely! im just really excited to see how they handle it, i think it'll be super exciting to play with, especially since i missed megas the first time around
Personally, I think it would be cool if they evolved from ex's like before, except they are not all basic. However, instead of spirit links, I think it would be cool to have only one Mega per deck.
I was looking through my bulk trainer cards yesterday and saw all the old spirit links and mega turbos and was thinking it would be really cool if they brought megas back. That would be crazy if they actually did.
I think the t tar is really good cause it’s easy to find rare candy now and it shuts off their ace spec option until they can boss, but you still got to have a lot of value
I think the average HP of Megas evolving from Basics will be 290-300.. The average health now is 230. Add a Maximum Belt and we get 280. 290 is barely out of that range. Megas got a 40 to 50 HP boost from evolving back then and I'd imagine that they'd up that to 60-70
super tiny nitpick but fairy was reclassified as psychic when it was removed during SSh so both of mega garde's types would be psychic if it was printed now
F block is very controversial Being the last block of the Pokémon overcreeped format, since tagteams until now thats all the powercreep we've gotten with 280 hp basics to 300 vmaxes to 280 hp vstars to the stage 2 300
I am curious as to how they would do Mega's in the tcg this time, would they still make it end your turn, maybe they would do them different. I hope so, one thing i didn't like about megas was having to play spirit link tools just you wouldn't end your turn when using the mega evolutions.
I think Megas should be like BREAKS that you put on an ex but a full card not turned sideaays (If it's a basic, the mega would be a stage 1, and so on). The turn should not end. It should have a Mega power, which would be like VSTAR where it's a once per game power (Ability or Attack)
I have a feeling megas will have some sort of once per game ability/attack like gx or vstar powers, they add a lot of variety of attacks and abilities that are really strong and really useful, after rotation will be the first tike since sun and moon base we dont have a once per game attack/abolity
Wait if mega are gonna be evo from ex’s, then how will stage 1/2 ex mega will work ? I mean sure I got it for basic Pokemon, mega will work like a stage 1, for stage 1 Pokemon mega will work like a stage 2, but what about 2 Pokemon ? Will we get a stage 3 now ? If then how much hp will it have ? How strong will its attack be ? So many question, so little answers
0 chance of happening because they like to push the 2 prize mechanic of every generation but... I'd like Megas to be evolutions of regular non rule box pokemon like break/lv x so theres more variety in prize maps.
If they have filed for names like Brave and Symphony - Are we looking at Mega Zygyarde and Mega Meloetta? Secondly if they did do mega the same does that make Jamming Tower super OP? Like you can Mega but your turns still ends?
I'm keen for the rotation, but I feel like there is such a disparate HP creep currently (looking back on before F etc). Like it makes 1 prize decks feel like less and less viable since I love them so much
Personally my read on Mega Evolution for the TCG would be having them keep the amount of HP the Pokémon they’re evolving from and changing their type (if the Pokémon’s type changed upon mega evolution like Charizard X for example) As terms for the rule I’d say keep it to just the normal evolution rule unless they decide to reprint spirit links and allowing them access to the Pokémon’s previous attacks and abilities plus one more of either attack or ability from the Mega. Overall I’m really excited for Megas to return in game and for the card game but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was part of a rotation set or something
Im still dreaming theyre going to make either an unlimited mode for live or if they made an X&Y only standard mode that would be even better. X&Y was peak tcg.
