Sounds like you have a bad OS. You may need to do a recovery.

i need your help I have a MacBook Air A1932 when I press command R it goes to a spining globe i then connect it to my wifi it loads then go to the apple logo and load until complete then stays there.. what else can be done when I press other key combinations a flashing folder appears
How long did you give the computer when the Apple Logo appeared? It can take some time.

So many “smart people out there” selling garbage , I am also greatful for such a simple video
I tried cmd r and I hold it until the Apple logo came up. And then the start up indicator symbol is going to the left and the uploading symbol showing me that it is going to start up, but it stops after more less 70%. For how long should I wait until there is no point to wait anymore? Can it take more than 1 hour? It seems like there is nothing happening? That the uploading get locked at 70%.
What was the mac doing prior?

I have a MacBook Air, I got it in august of 2020 for school. I wanted to change my admin password because it didn’t work after I installed the Big Sur update. Called Apple 5 times, they had me erase the Macintosh HD drive thing, and now my computer is ruined. I keep getting internet recovery,
I needed a separate drive to install the update, which was macOS Catalina, but after it finished, it says the security doesn’t allow a external hard drive. I don’t know how to fix it, and Apple can’t seem to find a solution

Hi I have problem as my MacBook 2017 recently had the black screen of death and now resets always into Recovery Assistant.
It works thru HDMI on tv in recovery assistant but after resetting password and restarting it goes to screen that doesn't show up on tv and no keys are lit while you can hear the computer is running. I'm at a lost as restarting SMC or PRAM brings up recovery assistant on tv but nothing after restarting.
Sounds like you will need to reinstall the OS with these methods.

I called apple support because all of a sudden after entering the login password, my mac got stuck on full progress bar. He didn’t tell me to erase the and reinstall the macOS. He just told me to reinstall and now I see that my problem is not solved. Maybe I should erase the hard drive and reinstall he software.

hello i have tried this several times while in recovery mode why cant i click the utilities option?
I did click on R and command and when the apple logo shows I stop. The problem is that it kind of freezes at this stage. It does not load. It stops at this stage and never load (not even allowing me to reset the mac - I have a 2015 macbook pro A1502) any suggestions? Thank you in advance! It also turns on normally but blocks at boosting.

Hi HelpCloud team, I formatted my MacBook Air 2019 because its was running odd and slow. Thing is I’m able to see the disks at the side bar (disk utility menu), and they aren’t showing any issues once “first aid” is ran, however, when I try to reinstall Catalina (Reinstall macOS menu) it sending me the error “downloading installer information to the target volumen failed”. I have been struggling with this problem for a while, hopefully you can help me on this.

What if reinstalling macos or repairs don’t work because of the volume mismatch error. So many people have this issue but no videos on it? Is it just unfixable or?

When I try to create disk image in disk utility from recovery I get error 49168 resource not available. Any idea how to fix this?

I found, in a dumpster, an iMac 27" A1312. I got to the OS utility, selected the "Reinstall" option, it has Mac OS Sierra. How long can a reinstall take? How do you set up a wireless mouse (Apple type)?

Of course I restored from a backup after upgrading to catalina and downgraded back to sierra due to software incompatability. Interestingly, I didn't do it fully correctly so my recovery partition is now a catalina recovery as opposed to sierra recovery. Should I be concerned about that? What won't work with my mac?

If I use alt/option + command + R the progress bar starts to load and then the computer shuts itself down. When I use Shift + Option + Command + R it starts to load and then the computer shuts itself down as well. When I do Command + R the progress bar appears but even after several hours of “loading” it never opens up disk utility. I’ve had a ton of Macs but I’ve never had the issue where no matter what I try Disc Utility will never load. Any help would be very much appreciated =)

I was having the File with the Question mark popping up. Tried repairing the disc and it didn't work so I used an external hard drive to reinstall OS X. I wasn't able to backup my files beforehand though. Wondering if there's still a way to recover the files I had that were on the startup disk that I'm having issues with.
If you used the same drive, those files are probably overwritten.

OS X Base system is the recovery, once you get into reset my mac, you should be able to use that as a recovery.

You may need to format it into a usable drive. Open disk utility and check if you see it in there.

Plug in a different keyboard. If it is a normal keyboard, try holding control + r. That should read as "command+R" on the mac
I tried to factory restore my Mid-2011 iMac and now I just get a white blank screen and it won't let me do anything. Apple says there is nothing I can do. The computer worked just fine but it was filled so I wanted to resent it. I have an Early 2015 Macbook Pro that I was planning on doing the Factory Rest with too but now I am afraid to after what happened to my Mac. Great video by the way!! Howe can I use internet recovery without using my Apple ID? I get all the way to installing Maverick OS X and it asks for my Apple ID but does not allow me to use the Apple ID/password I put in.

Help needed. After power outage I have the flashing folder, I started in recovery mode and found the HDD has been corrupted and shows as unformatted. I tried to use Terminal to download “Testdisk” but it didn’t work.
Can I create a USB or CD boot volume with testdisk on it or some other software to recover my patitions. Thanks👍

No, no help. The disk utility does not show disk when selected, so I can’t run any repair. I don’t work on mac, only Windows PC’s. So a little out of my depth.
The mac shows the Seagate 1TB drive in recovery mode at the top left, details show that SMART has failed and the disk is unformatted, and I think this is the reason it doesn’t display when select. I want to recover files I have on it, then replace it. Thanks

I’m having some major issues with my Mac it’s in a constant restart loop after I login it starts loading the desktop icons and opening my Calendar and Mail and then it shuts off. I’ve done disk utility maintenance on the Macintosh HD drive multiple times thinking that would help. What doing any three of these options in this video cause me to lose data?

Hi. I have a mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13 inch, it won’t show my usb installer nor my ssd when I power on and option key, But when I do internet recovery mode (command R / option + command R) I see my ssd( new clean ssd) and my usb install drive.
The issue with internet recovery is that the Mac OS won’t finish downloading it just stops at any random times, sometimes it’s 2 minutes left, or 10 minutes etc..
This is so frustrating please help 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
