I honestly was shocked when tiger claw's arm was chopped. Jaw open and everything! I'm still not over how shredder took his eye but now THIS? I honestly hate that this had to happen because they wanted to be consistent with the comics. I friggin LOVE tiger claw he's one of my favorite villians. Poor cat man! Shame on you Nickelodeon.Otherwise this episode was EPIC & I loved it. Drunk splinter, Rocksteady's beatboxing, alopex all of it.
honestly, I really like Alopex & how the people working on the show made her Tiger Claw's sister as opposed to just making her a simple rival; I feel that adds more depth to their relationship. The fight with drunk Splinter was hilarious but when Tiger Claw lost his arm...that actually made me grab my own arm. this was a fantastic episode & I can't wait to see the return of the Super Shredder and for Kavaxas to make his appearance
What's next? Karai ripping out Super Shedder's green mutant heart "Temple of Doom" style?

Anyone else catch the slight tinge of jealousy from April when Casey mentioned the time he was "poisoned" by Karai? I didn't even think he mentioned it to anyone. XD
This was probably my favorite episode yet xDD Besides 'The Power Inside Her' of course. From the drunk Splinter to the whole Tiger Claw backstory and dismemberment lol, A-mazing! I'm happy TMNT 2012 decided to take a much mature approach on this episode :3 Let's hope it keeps going that way. And we get a little confession from Casey that he enjoyed being poisoned by Karai in a previous episode :P
and Raph made another joke after Tiger Claw's arm was cut off..."he wont be able to clap anymore!" lol *crude humor*

Aloplex HAS to be a reference in everything but name to Ninjara from the Archie comics, and her character in the Nick show, makes me think that's even more the case, and has gone full circle
Alopex is an actual character from the IDW comics, but yeah, given the look of Ninjara from the Archie comics, it looks like it might have been a bit of a blend between the two characters. Wouldn't shock me if it was originally going to be Ninjara but couldn't because of Archie name licensing. I heard of a similar situation with Ray Fillet.

So Ray Fillet was owned by Archie? I figured he was owned by Playmates or something since I believe his figure came out before the Archie version.

Yes what I was trying to actually say was what you said, that IDW probably was going to insert Ninjara into their canon but couldn't get the naming rights so had to make an ersatz version, and now with the Nick show, it looks like even more the case, if we're just hypothesizing
Andre "Black Nerd" just doing a little bit of research, it appears that her creators actually retained copyright of her, and that Archie themselves do not, and this would seem the reason to have created Aloplex in the IDW continuity

Minae did such an awesome job as Alopex. Really hope we see Alopex again, she's such a great character. I totally didn't notice Alopex wearing Tiger Claw's tail around her waist until you mentioned it!

The ending of this episode was SOOOOOO GOOD! I think we can all agree that was incredible. The fact that Nickelodeon showed that level of violence on a kids show and the fact that when this character said "next time we cross paths, there will be no mercy" she actually fucking meant it!
YES! My girl got the Respect she Deserved! Granted, the one nitpick I have is her having super speed, even though I know foxes can be fast hunters! BUT, I came out hoping for more episodes of her! That's a good thing!
Yeah, it's cool to see an IDW comic original show up in the animated series. Just shows how the show tries to incorporate elements from all variations of TMNT.

You may have notice that I'm sorta in love with the character of Alopex, so that's why I'm glad her fan-favorite status is slowly but surely paying off and I hope it continues in the near future! What if I told Ya She was the reason I got into TMNT roughly two years ago thanks to the cover of the IDW comic series in issue #40!

Personally after watching the episode yesterday morning, I though there was going to be blood from Tony the Tig....I mean Tiger Claw's arm. Guess Nick sensor suits said "yea, we have to draw the line somewhere".
I really like this episode. Casey Jones seems to have a little crush on karai. Also i wonder how awesome Casey would be as fighter if splinter teached in him the way of ninja if you think about everything he has done is self taught, sure he spared with the turtles a bunch but they don't teach him any moves it is all self taught and he is able to fight ninjas, mutants, robots, and aliens, think how awesome he be if he was taught in the way of ninjsu.

I love how this series is going. We have in depth characters, story arcs for them to make them interesting, a good soundtrack so far, the action while being limited by the budget is still damn used at it's fullest, and animation still looks slick. And currently we are getting a bit of the edge from 2003 now, which I AM SO SURPRISED because of the current conceived idea on what these networks think kids wants to watch (CN should just be called Teen Titans Go Network at this point). But so far this has been the greatest Nickelodeon series thus far.

Through most of the episode I thought she was supposed to be Ninjara from the Archie Turtle comics. Anyway, great video Andre!
In the IDW comics that originally featured alopex she had white fur because the setting was in the middle of the forest during winter, and in the show the reason she has orange fur, this is because foxes change colours depending on the season.
Personally I ship Alotex and Raphael more than Raphael and Mona Lisa.
There's a line in the episode where Raph mentions that Alopex is a good fighter "but she's no Mona Lisa." Foreshadowing?

I think it's meant to be a reference to Umeko/Ninjara from Archies series, who is a red fox. But that's what I believe, they could of named her Umeko, but I guess due Alopex's popularity in comic, but besides that, I don't know.
Tiger Claw losing an arm is super crazy (hope he gets a new robo-arm), but for me, Master Splinter using the Drunken boxing technique, including drinking sake! first Rock lee from naruto, than Master Roshi from Dragon Ball (original not Z) and now master splinter. crazy stuff.

It's not the only time that TMNT was dark and mature with strong violence. Remember the 2003 series was very brutal just like the Mirage comic.
Anyone else notice the truck driver that the turtles got into an accident with? After the turtles drive away, he looks at his can and throws it away. You can get drunk and fight your ninja children but don't drink and drive.

You forgot to mention on how they address the whole Alopex and Mona Lisa thing, since they are Raph's girlfriends on the Nick series and IDW comics, at the end of the episode, Raph says "Alopex, is really something! Chompy. But she's no Mona Lisa."
I was screaming of joy watching this episode.......ALOPEX, omgggg TMNT 2012 you are THE BEST TMNT SHOW EVER, I been waiting to see this character make her debut in animated form for so long, since season 1 I been begging for her to be including in this show, and my dream come true and SHE IS AWESOMEEEEEEE!! (man that last bit of the episode was DARKKKK) love this episode, officially my favorite of this season.

Nickelodeon is so much different now that it allows this kind of stuff on their shows. Back when Invader Zim was first airing they wouldn't let Jhonen Vasquez kill any of the characters on the show.

Tigerclaw was one of my favourite villains in TMNT 2012 I could remember watching this episode and the first episode he appeared in when he first went up against Splinter I thought that they were going the draw and end up with Splinter defeating him and Karai not shooting the dart because she came around and accepted Splinter as her true farther.
That's not Splinter being drunk what he is using is a real type of fight call "Drunken style" (This is not a joke) it is used to make your opponent lower their guard.
Hence my reference to Drunken Master... I get what it's from.... But Splinter was drinking SOMETHING...
regarding drunk Splinter. there are martial arts forms that emulate the fluid movements of intoxication, drunken fist is one example. maybe that's what they were trying to infer? The fact he was drinking out of a gourd makes it seem like an elixer that simulates drunkeness. the movie Big trouble in little China shows an enhancement potion in a gourd.
The name Alopex comes from an inaccurate taxonomy for the Arctic Fox (at least according to Wikipedia). Changing her species kills the intended pun. Or whatever you'd call it.
Makes me laugh how they still can't show any blood on the show though. You know that arm stump be splirting the red stuff everywhere. It's a shame we can't get a special Ciro cut, like a directors edit. "This is the actual episode... and here's footage from what I wanted you to see and Nickelodeon said no."

That name Alopex, it's just freaking awesome!
I don't understand how they can still call her Alopex, they changed both her backstory and her imagine so much.

This was a great episode! Shocking that Tiger Claw's arm got cut off by Alopex, and I was cracking up at Rocksteady rapping!
I love how the laser shot only goes about as fast as a person running and not actual light speed.
I wonder if we're gonna see that owl and whatever snail/clam we saw in that flashback, again.
