- This month we got to check off a bucket list item… touring a beautifully restored home designed by renowned architect Cliff May! Situated on Metz Street in Long Beach, right in the heart of Rancho Estates, one of Cliff May’s largest (and definitely most well maintained) tracts in the world.
Come along with us while we tour the home and have an enlightening conversation with the property’s listing agent, Doug Kramer of SoCal Modern, who lives in the neighborhood himself and is, safe to say, obsessed with all things Cliff May. He’s sold hundreds of them and is a wealth of knowledge on the man’s history and style. Such a fun conversation! Thanks for joining us Doug! I have viewed, in person and on the internet, hundreds of homes ranging from >1,000,000.00 to < 50,000,000.00 and there have been only a handful that I'd feel I was "at home" in - and most of them were MCM designed homes. I just love them. This one is perfect.
It really was beautifully done ❤️❤️
Beautiful cabinets!! Who did those? Thank you
Well, I thought it was good. Thanks for the tour!

Maybe another recession will happen. We are second owners our CM and got it for $500K in 2011.
You paid $500k for a Cliff May? Were crying happy tears for you 💙 never let it go
Several CM house owners bought from 2011 to 2013 in Ranchos in the 500s and low 600s.

Stop talking over this black shirt guy...
Thanks for watching 😁
Another cliff may kitchen destroyed. Big disgrace.
The owners this developer bought the home from had gotten rid of all the hallmark features of a Cliff May; the developer did a good job of restoring much of the character. The windows in particular!
Cliff May was not an architect. He had neither training nor license.
Thank you kind internet person!
He was awarded an honorary license by the AIA.
Nor was anyone that built the coliseum. It wasn’t a thing until the late 1600’s.
The guy in the pink shirt is so annoying.
Thanks for watching 😁
