- If you run a Harmony or other central control based remote system, you'll want to make sure CEC is still turned off. Here's what you also need to do in your Harmony setup to get your Power Off command working again!
NOTE: you must be using Bluetooth control NOT ir.
How to pair your Apple TV 4 or 4k using Bluetooth
In order to pair your Apple TV with the Harmony Hub, you need to add the device by searching manually.
Add new Entertainment Device:
- Manufacturer: Harmony Pro
- Model: bt Apple TV 5
2. Add your ‘Watch Apple TV’ activity, including any other devices involved in the activity, e.g. your TV, your AV Receiver.
3. From the Home screen of Harmony Hub, press the ☰ button in the top left
4. Tap Harmony Setup, Add/Edit Devices & Activities, Activities, Select your Watch Apple TV activity
5. Tap Connectivity
6. Using your original Apple TV remote, go to Settings, Remotes and Devices, Bluetooth on the Apple TV
7. Pair with ‘Logitech Keyboard’

THANK YOU!! This worked! I missed the part in the info section about connecting as bt Apple TV 5 rather than Make: Apple Model: Apple TV 4K gen 2/3 so I was getting frustrated that the added select command wasn't working. My Denon and TV would turn off, but then the tv would turn back on and it would show the ATV, even when the Denon was off. That part is probably because I have some sort of video bypass enabled, but that's what made me realize it wasn't turning off right and led me down this rabbit hole. I'm coming from years and years of firestick TV use, which integrated much easier into Harmony. But the ATV is WAY better... it's so much snappier and I think the picture is better too. Anyway, thank you!
Thank you for this video. Even though I was following these instructions to the letter, my Apple TV was not shutting off. I wound up making a change to the second "Select" setting. Instead of a "1S" delay I made it "3S" and now my Apple TV turns off with my Harmony remote.

Oh man. I still can’t get it to work.
My original shut down sequence is:
AppleTV4K [Harmony Beta Test]: Power Off
Panasonic Tv: Power Off
AVR: Power Off
For me to get this to work, I think I need to delete the above ATV4K Power Off step (which I can’t), & replace it with a ‘Power’ button command (but the power button doesn’t exist in the Harmony device menu for the ATV4K) & then have a ‘Select’ button added after it.
You are using the old driver. Remove it, readd with the current v5 not beta.

This doesn’t seem to work for me. Home doesn’t bring up the “power off menu” and then select just selects the first app.

What gen Apple TV do you have and how do I get the harmony beta for Apple TV to work ?
This one is a 1st but they are all the same for the operation and harmony. When you add the device in harmony just put in Apple TV it’s there. It’s just the Bluetooth connection

I set everything up like you said but it doesn't work for me. The power button on the Apple TV flashes 3 times but it doesn't turn off!
I even have the three commands under Power ON, Home, Delay and Select.
Under Power OFF I have Home, Delay, Select and a second Select.
What am I doing wrong ? Could you help me, please ?

You need to use Bluetooth not ir control.

You may just be able to add it new, add it to the existing activity then just delete the old one, if you don’t want to just start fresh. Either is easy.
