instead of having 2 lava source for each side and 1 water source in the middle, you can have 2 water source in the side and 1 lava in the middle, it will be cheaper because you can make infinite water source, we can be saving $1000 each layer.
And as @ROBLEON2 mentioned, we can also put 1 observer in middle.
but over all, better than previous farm :>

you can also only buy 2 observers an put them in the middle block and save $200 and have power on the 2nd layer and $100 on observers instead of $400 saving you $300 per layer.

just use a pillar of observers and you can hook the bottom observer to a sticky piston to turn the machine on and off to save item limit

instead of making slabs you can make pillars instead which sell for more and the setup cost less and takes up less footprint also water costs 500 and instead of buying three water to make an infinite well but the cobble farm twice and you have extra lava although you will need to buy one empty bucket at 400 to transfer three water to the well then you can just put it back two observers in the middle stacked strip and rebuild the extra cobble farms on the top

it is a good setup however there is a better setup costing less and you can build pretty much the same except only using one observer per layer instead of putting two on the outside edges of the build place them in the middle stacked you only need one per layer saving 1k on the 1st layer and 2 k for the next layer, much cheaper and build faster of the start, also you can save on water and lava by placing the lava in the middle and build a well next to it a four by four costs 3 buckets of water to fill it and you can collect unlimited water free again cutting the cost of the build and saving time in the process however that does not work for lava only water, the rest of the build is exactly the same however you can build it two layers at a time quicker if i had the equipment to do it would of made a video about it, maybe i will in the future

A lever is manual,so it takes away your finger energy,so i recommend 2 observers having the side that can detect changes facing each other,but lever(manual as i said in this comment)is worth it!

hey man im sorry for this, but you can stack observers if you didn't know if you place the first facing upward's and one on top facing downward's to mate 2 flors plus place it between the pick mine things to only spend 200$.
