pro tip: don't build too many layers i recommend 15 or 10 because after this it will still be too slow so you will need to make a wheat farm/tree farm to get to the next life easier
something id recommend is after your compacter put a brick maker to make it a marble brick which when turned to stairs is worth around $40 instead of $16 then everything's price just keeps increasing( no hate amazing starter farm ty for that just a little suggestion)

i placed brick after every compactor i got 15 rows up I make only 2.2k per sec I check I don't have 1 row working 1 row is not big deal Might have placed sth wrong
way to use less water and lava: when u finished all ur layers put water and lava on the hightest layer, it will spread down and work anyways (i didint test this yet but atleast try!)
