Looks like a decent little set, ideal to whack behind the dash for a occasional play especially with that crazy modified frequency coverage. Enjoyed that video this morning Fred.. thanks
As always another good review. If a few folks wanted to have a neighborhood wide way to talk with a easy to build dipole you could use it, even on some unused freq, no one else might be monitoring .
Frid in the shed my hobbies are painting pictures 🖼 and listening to shortwave and ssb I have 5 shortwave receivers and iam thinking about getting my ham license my friend
Seems good Mr Fred but not sure on the heat issue, I have the 2023 Thunderpole T-800 and about the same size, works fine and doesn't even get warm. Regards from Sheffield
hi buddy, the new law has a big loophole in it. It says it's illegal to hold a "device" with a screen whilst driving. But when you look further, a "device" is defined as anything except for a two way radio. This is a two way radio. Your phone is also a two way radio. I wouldn't want to stand up in front of the beak and test this law, but it's going to be interesting when someone does.
I have a question,.....I have just ordered this radio....loved your video btw......I'm also a guy from the 70s and early 80s....but forgot about our radios,.......Can,....or could you please explain to me the bands that are in there?......I mean CB,....E .... L,....N......probably you know what I mean,......have been searching everywhere.......cheers, if you could help me with that......I'm in the Netherlands btw....I know it's all cb, but I don't get the programming on that,......have been searching their whebsite as well,....but that didn't help
Hi. Welcome back. A lot has changed. Loads of advice videos on this channel if you search. This might help to start. ua-cam.com/video/ex4wfWM1Tvs/v-deo.html
Hi fred new to your channel and must say its great thanks . I'm hoping to get a set up for my car but have small budget was thinking ctr 2000h but its only fm am not ssb am l going to be able to contact any of you guys it can be expanded to cover 25-30mgs so would I be able to use the 305 ... thank stu.
Does anyone know if you can use a Cat-7 extension wire to have more length between the transceiver chassis and the remote head/mic. In commercial radio usually you can hide the transceiver under the rear seats and just run a head cable to the dash. Id like to something similar with this… just dont know if its possible. Any input would he appreciated 👍
Hmm, some people have whats known as "friends" and thats GREAT NEWS that the band is quiet. Makes owning one now even better. You can chat with your FRIENDS and not be bothered by morons crowding the frequency, and with the mod finding a quiet channel will be no problem at all. Fm on a discrete channel and using dcs or ctcss, and you will have uninterrupted comms.
Frid in the shed I learn lot from you about cbs radios with AM FM ssb my friend 😊😊😊😊
Frid in the shed your Radioddity cs-47 one hander cb radio is awesome my friend 👏 😊😊😊
Thanks as always Greg.

Great little rig Fred!

Great tip!
I am surprised it didn't come with a fan mounted on it. It would help keep it cool. good video
Frid in the shed your utube videos are awesome my friend 👏 😀 😊😊😮
Frid in the shed I am 60 yers old i was born in 1963 my friend 🎉🎉🎉😮😊😊
I am just a few years behind you Greg.
Nice review! I bought one last week. fantastic radio.
I was surprised how loud the speaker was. Ive modded mine for extra power and now running around 9 watts FM.
What i find CTCSS really good for is stopping artificial interference opening the squelch.

A lot of features for a radio of that size! Would be great for a mountain dx set, especially with power mod 😊
Agreed!
i like it doesnt take much room to mount
Really enjoy your videos keep up the good work 537
Grab that Mic with a numb hand , key up as the Stranger! And you want to get into someones receiver. Well done , TY 73
Should have a better Mic connection. One that screws on rather then the plasitic phone type clip connection ....they brake other wise

Driving and holding something with a screen will get you in trouble with the law now, it applies to anything, it's not just mobile phones.
Prob why the radio comes with VOX feature.

it looks nearly the same as a Crystal 80 channel uhf cb radio - db477d

DONT CUT THE WIRE !! When moving the jumper from 1-2 to 2-3 it opens the frequency band with plus greater power output.
Thanks Chris 🙂
The box heating up would worry me if put in glovebox
Yeah having used it on air it needs to mounted in the open.

Hi Stu. The 305 channel is CH30 on the Euro block. Most radios cover EU channels now. Still not that many SSB radios made. :-(
@@CB-RADIO-UK thanks for your reply so working on that i would be able to get a copy on the 305 with the crt 2000h or at least hear you guys .

put a small fan to blow over that little rig. it will last longer.
Whi will you talk to? The band is dead. I left my sdr scanning it last night for hours. Not a peep
Depends on your area. See here. ua-cam.com/video/remkn2-d2E0/v-deo.html
