Seeing Ronnie Chieng without his suit is crazy
That’s you bro
You can barely recognize him
As a fellow Chinese Vancouverite this is my first time I have heard of Andrea Jin but then again I don't follow standup comedy but I think its super cool to see her success and I am definitely gonna check out more of her stuff in support of my hometown girl.
Love when Ronny switched to mandarin chinese effortlessly with his co guest and that was straight out from singapore lingo
where did they speak chinese?
hahahah "f*ck podcasts!!" ~ronny in tigerbelly, ronny here 😂😂😂😂
"Psy is Korean 9/11." No I did not hear that... Lol 🤣
This was a great one. Dumb getting Ronny there via his wife, is testament to a little bit of perseverance paying off. Great, quickly produced, free and easy content haha. Shoutout to Bobby Lee.
The best Singaorean food is Malaysian food.
Very very true
Wooo!!! Amazing guests
Love Ronny, hes the best
i love his filipino engine hat
Damn this episode was good! I did not expect that voice from Dave, it was deep af!
I never realized how Alex at the end looks like a combination of David So and Ken Jeong.
And wearing Bobby’s clothes.
can't unsee it now
Great episode, not a single dull moment 🔥🔥🔥💜💜💜
Dumbs bit on Montreal is hilarious knowing it’s really not a bit tho 😂😂 great ep.
freakin love ronny and andrea!!!
Fun episode Dumb. Love Ronnie... one of the best asian American entertainers in the game. Love his charming personality. And also, its nice to see more of a personal side of Andrea since I don't check out her comedy.
this is such a funny cast
happy AAPI month! shoutout to chinese whispers doing the job

This is another problem central and south Americans have with us. Us claiming "America" as ours.
The whole continent is "America", not just the United States.
I don't think Canadians mind it though. They probably don't want to be thought as Americans.
As for noodles. . . It must be Chinese. They have hundreds kinds of noodle dishes, which is very good. If it’s Korea, I probably only know less than 5. Not to mention that they are heavily influenced by China.
Ronny Chieng 💥 crazy mad love 💥
Ronny absolutely KILLED in "Long Story Short"
36:59 - 37:11 “I give Ronny, his space.” (While working on the road). Super relatable criteria for living ‘The Dream’ as a creative working a solitary career path. Thx for all of your insights, Dumbfoundead pod fam.
take a shot for every "clip that"
scrolled down to look to see if anyone mentioned it... surprised there was only one. i thought the "clip that" running gag was mad funny😂
I think someone would die if they did that.
lmao steffies laugh was out of control this episode
The Chinese uncle next to Andrea wouldn’t shut up.
59:47 The best cringe at the end, in my opinion. No disrespect intended. I feel like I understand the sentiment and are laughing with you all. I am grateful for the cultural experiential range present in the room for this episode.
Andrea's literally the baddest female asian talent in the US ❤
20+ yrs we'll get along well. truth is geopolitics will decide the relationship on a personal level, but i have an idea of how that'll go so i'm sure it'll improve. i'll leave it there.
Ronnie Chieng is Malaysian
He's still ethnically Chinese
I'm wondering if they are baiting us to watch with that. It gets confusing because people also use Chinese to refer to background and ethnicity. like he is Chinese Malaysian. but then they put the CCP flag up there like he's straight from China.
I thought that he went to school in either Singapore or Australia.
He's Chinese-Malaysian
@@laurahouser2350 Yea I'm Chinese-Vietnamese. Seems like most of the Chinese outside of mainland China are anti-CCP. A lot of our ancestors left China because of communism.
Korean jja jang myun and stir-fried veggies and damooji.. the fried chicken or pork with sweet n sour sauce.. tang soo yook 🔥🔥🔥
Shout out to Montreal bagels thanks Dumbfounded !!! ❤
You need Bobo Lee here.
"The thing is is this"
"Can I just say something?"
Korean legend
Not easily amused with cultural chit chat, this exchange was great. Keeping in mind, they are all 3rd culture youth, speaking their experiences.
Ronnie needs to do more pods cause dude is hilarious. And Andrea sounds like the female version of Jason Chenny lol.
Maybe ask real Chinese and Korean that are born in America? 22:44 Yeah, Steffie, why is there a rift between East and South East Asians? Maybe bring on some American born Vietnamese, Thai, Pinoy, on the show and ask them? Also, Dumb is from the Bay, how does he not have any Chinese or Vietnamese friends?
Not all but a considerable portion/percentage of East Asians are known to look down & discriminate against Southeast Asians due to a variety of factors. It's more common back in the motherland in China/Taiwan/HongKong, Korea & Japan but these condescending sentiments & negative views still carry over into East Asians in the diaspora e.g. EastAsian-Americans/Australians/Canadians.
I'm an American Korean, and I don't have beef with other Asians. So I'm surprised about this controversy
They are taught to accept there should be a rift...Acturally None.
@@waynej11 who are they?
왜냐면, 중국인은 더럽고 냄새가 나요
Stef squatting and thinking was so cute and funny
We should all date and marry eachother more😂 we have different Asians in our family, and had multicultural babies, so we get along! We have to 😂
Weirdly, every Korean girl I know married a Chinese or white guy.
As a Taiwanese, I like Korean style ZJM better. It has more ingredients. Ramen in Japan is called Chinese noodle but outside Japan we all call it Japanese ramen.
그렇습니다 대만인은 중국인이 아닙니다.
Weird, cause Korean-Chinese mixed couples are probably the most common ethnic mixing among Asians in the US. Stephanie Soo for example is Korean and shes married to a Chinese dude. Just nobody notices cause most Americans can’t tell Koreans and Chinese people apart. I find Chinese-Americans and Korean-Americans look much more similar to each other than a Korean or Chinese from the motherland
yea, that's because you're white. I love the whitesplaining.
Stephanie soo isn't korea lol
And there are so many Chinese abroad people from korea that claiming they're korean American.
My Korean friends younger sister was dating a Chinese dude and his grandma said she'd commit suicide if they got married 😂😂😂😂😂
@@hlcapa wth are you talking about, what is stephanie soo if she isn't korean
This podcast was awesome, hope it goes over 1M views.
This episode was hilarious 😂😂😂
Psy still has it going on. Great episode! ☮️
What's wrong with Steffie trying to drag Japanese and other SEA and EA people into conversation while Ronnie tried to focus on Korean and Chinese? I do think that Steffie tried to defend Korean and she really thought she's better than Chinese. When Ronnie said his most favorite food were Singaporean and Malaysian food, she looked condescending.
According to Ronny he dressed to phone this in.
Dave came in to introduce chaos.
Algorithm needs to tweak. Needed this recommend me this earlier.
21:34 Ronny's expression 😂
Isn’t Dumb born in Argentina? He might be on their AAPI list - Asian Argentines. 😂
Ronny must hate pods cause hes awesome on them
not even passed 10 seconds, someone laugh snorts lmao
Lol. I know there's a lot of pho (Vietnamese noodles) r owned by Koreans.
I love that yall were debating about AAPI and nobody was born in US
came here for ronny, fell in love with steffie😍
I'm sitting here screaming at the screen, It's because of the Waaar!!! The Chinese helped out the North, and that's why Korea is divided into 2, so if you're South Korean, you would hate the Chinese. That's for the older generation though. Young people shouldn't be hating each other for what our grand parents did. If my Chinese grandma can forgive the Japanese for World War 2, and she was blady tortured, then we can all move on today.
Btw, this episode was awesome. Blady hilarious.
This would be Beef season 2!
Can’t imagine ronnie without a suit 😭🥲 I always presumed Ronnie made love with his suit on
jjajangmyeon will squash and settle this beef 🤤
Jajangmyeon is CHINESE cuisine. Not Korean. Go make and eat your own food!
Stephie this new look is it 😍
i love it every time when Andrea be like "WTF" 🤣
SINGAPORE REPRESENT 🇸🇬 what up!
The guy is Malaysian Chinese.
@@sara.cbc92Ha. You're so wrong.
@@Dionicys he literally said he's Malaysian.
@@sara.cbc92 let him claim Ronny like our other neighbor.. 😂
The Korean girl Stephanie looked familiar to me. At the end she said something about Korean girls dating Chinese guys, and then I remembered I randomly met her somewhere at a bar in LA about 10 years ago when she was dating this tall Taiwanese guy at the time when she worked in real estate. Totally random. lol. She is beautiful.
ok, that's a random comment. how can you tell it's her when most Koreans look alike.
@@sara.cbc92 i recognize her full name and I know lots of Koreans having lived in the LA area my whole life
대만인은 중국인이 아닙니다
Andrea didn’t grow up with Koreans cause she’s in Vancouver. But Canada has like the 4th largest Korean population in the world. If she grew up in Toronto, there are two Ktowns in Toronto. But one of the two ktowns has a pretty big Chinese population too. And they moved to ktown specifically cause they like Korean food and Hmart etc…lol so definitely a ton of interaction in Canada between Koreans and Chinese. Just not in Vancouver
I thought I'd never say this but I'm starting to look forward to Fun with Dumb more than Tigerbelly. Been a listener of Tigerbelly since the very beginning and the dvdasa days too. Something about Tigerbelly is just so dull now
Get China Mac on
Yeah boii Malaysia Represent!! 🇲🇾 😆🥳👏
40:32
Sorry to Ronnie.
炒粿條 is everywhere you can find 潮州 and 福建 people which is kind of everywhere.
I don't think he understands how wide spread our people are.
My guess is he is connected to his mother mother tougue. Because old school Chinese immigrants don't speak Mandarin or Cantonese...
Oh there is definitely a divide between China and Korea, hell there is even a divide between Northern and Southern China ... lol
All Bagels are boiled first.... thats what makes them bagels
Ronnie Chieng..!!! #Malaysia Represent 👍
28:08
When is Steffie gonna start her own UA-cam channel?
I saw a fight in Ktown Manhattan (outside Maru lounge) between Korean and Chinese once. every Korean guystanding around along that block ran over to engage. beef going on for sure.
That's Koreans for you. They have a hive mentality and need 10 guys vs 1 Chinese to call it fair.
Alex is just like the hippy David So with a cap
So fun.
Wow, Ronnie out angled you in that thumbnail.
"f*ck podcasts" awkward.. LOL
the katana is definitely japanese, but the metallurgy and swordswmithing techniques came from korea.
Also the pain staking labor needed to make it; is because the iron ore is shit and rare in Japan. They aren't that special aside from how much effort they take. They're really good at hacking unarmored peasants but aren't that great as a weapon of war. Wars were fought with spears and bows just like in China/Korea. Swords were prestige things.
Clown comment. Koreans had no swordsmiths on the level of the Japanese. This is evident from you guys getting owned by Japan during the Imjin war. Beseiged by samurai infantry and begging China for help.
all bagels are boiled.
00:53:23 is what u came for
xiexie.
Steffie is different now. I can’t tell if she’s a hater lowkey or less of friend of Jonnie now. Why does she show up?? I used to adore her sm. Or the flip side Jonnie has been known not to be a great friend and you just can sense it through the interaction recently. The jabs or jokes are coming off as real feelings. Am I tripping? I’ve been watching for years. I’ve picked up on change
i watched 10 minutes in realizing they’re not going to talk about noodles ..
Divide was there cause during the Korean War the Chinese, eventually followed by the Soviets funded/backed North Korea to invade South Korea.
That peninsula was one country. It physically divided family such that they'd never be able to see each other again.
It's very sad history
Now if you're saying you were too young to have been a part of that, that's what the Japanese are saying to the rest of Asia but everyone seems to accept the hate that way. lol
Bit of hypocrisy
Having said that, if we're talking about Asian Americans, we're constantly bashed over the head from racism and we're even lumped in together constantly and treated the same so we tend to huddle together despite Asia being a huge continent with an extremely wide range of cultures, languages, and people... I've been called Chinese as a kid and when i told them i wasn't, they're dad basically said "same thing"... it's not upsetting cause there's anything wrong with being Chinese, it's upsetting cause they won't even recognize my heritage, history, culture, etc... this was in the South at a private school. The other folks were clearly white...
Funny AF
40:45
why was it muted at 10 minutes
Andrea Jin just dropping truth bombs left and right.
🙂🤩😂😅😬😄😂😆😶🙂🥸🤣🙂🤭😂😀🤯😶😊 Range of emojis white fans have while listening to Dumbfounded.
I have no talent, but VENMO me money because I am all about entitlement. 😂😂😂
Dumb what brand hat are you wearing?
You can’t replicate Singaporean or Malaysian food? Hmmm. Not sure about that take, but okay.
i am not here to discriminate anyone but there is sonething called China’s Northeast project that makes china and korea having some kind of tension
Lol, you have been brainwashed by the Korean government. There's no such thing as North East Project. It's pure propaganda to appease Korean nationalists. There's however Korea's attempt to appropriate, steal and revise China's history and cultures.
Samoans up in here
Samoans are the best!!

Well... The Korean vs Chinese thing... There is like a lot of history there back in the mother lands...
Obviously, Koreans (can) think they are better than Chinese since China was communist and super poor.
Historically, China has try to invade Korea many many many times. Perhaps threaten by the strength by the Korean kingdoms.
I mean Manchuria was not that big and they end up conquering China.
From the Chinese prospective, they basically think they own Korea.
They used to use Chinese characters. They used to offer tributes to China. Their Kings get titles from the Chinese empires.
And of course, during WW2, many Koreans fought for the Japanese imperial army.
Probably a lot of them are pretty brutal regardless if they are Korean or Japanese.
I think in some ways some of the Koreans might have been more brutal to show their worthiness, loyalty and maybe just plain getting ahead.
I also can see (a little) why they need to be so brutal. There are just so so many Chinese. I am sure the Manchurians might have similar fears when they invaded China.
Then of course, there is the Korean war where the country is split.
I mean if we think korea is a powerhouse now.
Think what it might look like if north and south a united under a democratic government.
Now to even more recent (ish) history.
We all kind of know a lot of Chinese people are not the most cultured people. Maybe think how Europeans look at loud Americans, but maybe 3x, 4x 10x worst...
Then on the Korean side when it comes to international sports, it doesn't seem like cheating is a problem for them as long as their team wins.
Which maybe kind of speaks for the broader culture. You can say they are "united" or always having a united front. You can also say they blindly protect their own even when they are in the wrong.
I think that kind of sums it up a little. Maybe others can pile onto this.
The Korean thing is archery. 🏹
Which you adopted from Mongolians.
@@arok.tibetan you gotta learn from the best 😅
Koreans didn't invent archery. Infact you guys invented nothing.
I don't know whats going on here but all i know is koreans have really come up the past couple years
Damn this Baik woman is so hot and pretty
Anywhere there is known there is a divide, anywhere where there isn't enough Asians, there is more unity
Thaad has everything to do with America. Who do you think gave Korea the missiles and told them where to put them?
💛
