THIS IS THE STUFF LYONEL
Abed!
A GOT level episode and best episode of the series to date! That little smile from Emma D'arcy as Rhaenyra at the very end, almost welcoming war before becoming resolute in her next move, now that she can feel justified in her position. Amazing stuff.
TRASH. ABSOLUTE TRASH.
GOT season 8 level episode.
BRILLIANT episode tonight!!! Rhaenyra is a true queen. She did everything in her power to prevent bloodshed and war. Now its WAR 🔥🔥🔥🔥 #HouseOfTheDragon
You got it! Some people seems confused about her.
Rhaenyra wins a pyrric victory in the book I haven't gotten to that chapter just yet tho
What a rollercoaster of an ep🎉 started dank, got sick, suddenly radical then ended lit with a hint of bodacius🎉
Ulf the White entering the pub = Nic Cage driving down Hollywood Boulevard in Valley Girl.
Ultimately Viserys's wishes are irrelevant. Even back in episode 2, Rhaenys said the men of the realm would never accept Rhaenrya. Otto and the council would have put Aegon on the throne regardless.
It's interesting that Alicent realizes she might be wrong, but in the end it doesn't matter.
That’s some hard copium you’re smoking
Rhanerya has half the realm as it is. If Allicent didn't fuck her over, she'd easily have the realm.
This was another amazing episode. Glad Emma and Olivia got to have a scene together
lol
I applaud the shows creators for each episode surpassing my prior hatred for alicent and crispen.
they make Cersei appear rational and level headed.
These episodes is fantastic
my favorite episode along with season 1 finale 😊😊
loved this episode
Begins at 3:04
God bless
The argument that people had that a “misunderstanding” of Alicent of Viserys words started the war was always wrong. In episode 9 Otto and the rest of the council were ready to userp the Throne even without what Alicent told them. It’s important to Alicent, to what she tells herself it’s what’s right or wrong of her cause. However it wouldn’t have affected the rest, Aegon KNOWS he’s a fraud but he’s only going to dig in harder now and so will everyone else who supports them because they’re supporting him because they didn’t want a woman not because they truly believed Viserys changed his mind.
To war then? Aemond might need to see the smith to get a bigger sword...

grover elmo and kermit tully have me shook
orange on orange is crazy never seen that before.
Rhaena’s dragon egg is supposed to be pink and she never got to say bye to her grandmother 🙃
Rhaenys referenced saying goodbye to rhaena during her scene with Corlys at driftmark . She likely met with her privately offscreen prior to leaving the castle
Loved this episode
I'm so glad we started this with a "Holy Shit" because thats all I could say for the back end of the episode
I wish Chris was with Mallory and Joanna when they do a deep dive into the episode with book spoilers. They would have to explain who and what they're talking about because he hasn't read the books. When he's not there they have a lot of fun but it's hard to follow their banter
They would also have to shorten the deep dive by two hours.
Couldn’t agree more. Love most of Mal, but Chris keeps her on the rails. Reducing 35% of the giggling would be a godsend
Rhaenrya may not killed Alicent and her kids but she also couldn't save Alicent's grandson from Daemon. He is yet another dragon Rhaenrya can't control.
Just like alicent couldn’t save Rheanyra son from Aemond
I find these recaps a much better listen than the Deep Dives...there is waaay too much useless banter when Chris isn't there. It's a shame because I used to L O V E the Binge Mode coverage of GOT with Mallory and Jason. It's just not the same for me. I've tried and tried to do the Deep Dives and I always turn it off after 30 minutes or so.
It's great that they make such an effort in humanizing these characters. The books may have made them amazing and out of this world, but if dragons are real - we should take precautions and avoid using them. But from here on it will just be blood, this episode made them look sheep so we get some empathy and hurt us more when they slaughter them. Even Alicent realizing there could be a mistake, Otto will have Aegon II king no matter what. The writers did great inputs to the show❤
The mysterious woman was Melisandre
I think this meeting and communication between Rhaenyra and Alicent is just the first. What a story it would be if these two, at the center and the heart of this conflict, start working out a way to end it (with some type of compromise or alliance or marriage or something). Yet all the while the world burns around them as neighbors battle and kill one another in their names. As Alicent said, it’s simply too late.
They won’t. She can’t turn round now and say to her son, “oh, sorry, I misinterpreted what your dad said on his death bed”!
CR was good this episode just wanted to comment since I was critical before
They should do this show live
Remember also.... The blacksmith in this season.... It was a blacksmith that smuggled Gendry out of King's landing in game of thrones.
Not what his role will be here
Yo yo yo
❤you trio ARE MAGICAL ❤THANKYOU 🥰🤟🏾🩶⚘️🪻🌻🌺💙
Be red currant they meant wine, no?
Daemon Souls
I see a lot of dislike for this ep….but I think it was a filler just get the 2nd half of season ready 🔥🐉🔥🐉🔥🐉🔥
Wait wait but what about the eggs, were those Dany's eggs?
Probably not but maybe
Director said they were - though that was likely a lack of knowledge on her part about lore than actual new canon
@@MarcusGLovesWatches Where does she say that?
@@JonSnowxx as reported by Forbes
Those are Daenerys' eggs," the episode’s director Geeta Vasant Patel told Mashable. "All of us who work on this show are big Game of Thrones fans, so it was very exciting to shoot that scene."
@@MarcusGLovesWatches Oh I see the Mashable article, thank you! Well GRRM has said before, the show is the show, the books are the books. It doesn't all have to be exactly the same!
Why don't you mention Oscar Tully just as much a muppet as the others
I loved last weeks episode but I thought this was exceptionally boring. I loved Shogun and that was nothing but people talking in rooms, these characters are not compelling enough to carry a slow Episode like this and I thought the Rhaenyra/Alicent scene was silly. I'm very close to giving up on this show, I just don't care. I actually enjoy listening to you guys talk about it more than I enjoy watching it
Alicante is the person who put this entire war in motion by misinterpreting the words of a dying, delusional man. Her poor judgemen impacts her decision-making ability as well as her assessment of other people's character, e.g. Ser Kristen Kole.
Alicante is a city in eastern Spain.
I know what makes HOD and GOT so amazing is the storytelling and not as much of the action but thru 3 episodes this season has been has been an absolute snooze fest with them relying on startling endings to keep us on our toes which does work but not enough
I love how people just completely forgot what Game of Thrones was.
Welcome back to political drama.
Biden v Trump Westoros edition. No good choices to lead.
Masterpiece of an episode 1...
And then 2 of the worst GoT related episodes ever, including the "she kind of forgot" and "let's capture a zombie with the Suicide Squad" atrocity of late GoT.
What's this trash? Who is writing this p o s?
Wow, you weren’t a fan of episode 2? I thought it was fantastic and easily my favorite of these first three. Yesterday’s episode was a bit weak IMO, but I’m not yet feeling pessimistic about the rest of the season, but very surprised you thought episode two was a bad episode.
The first two episode was good, but this one was a dull episode. The writers are trying to hard to keep the focus on Rheanyra & Allicent when at this point the focus should be more on the kids rallying their troops. I better see Jace take more of a leadership role for the rest of the season like he does in the books at this point, because he is one of the most interesting member of team black. And now I'm worry they might downplayed his role in the war. 💯😤
The showrunners are slowplaying this show to the point of tedium. Half of season 2 is basically over. Get on with it.
Get on with what?
This isn’t the series for you, bud.
Go watch an action movie.
@@yaredmussie4086 Fire and Blood.
@@Redjack10 I cant believe I watched 8 seasons of GoT and 1.5 seasons HoTD before you came along with such a brilliant suggestion. What a waste of time that could've been spent catching up on the Fast and the Furious films.
@@verkpunk We all make mistakes. Recognizing them is the key to avoiding them in the future. I commend you on this first step.
Absolutely no way this was someone’s favorite episode. And to claim the writing is cracking is crazy. Just jumping around to a lot of places that didn’t matter and for some reason Allicant has any power at all is baffling she had 2 fing kings Gaurds as the mother and dowager
"Favorite" is subjective. He didn't say "best".
After the attack on Jahaerys, it makes sense for additional security. Plus who else would they guard? Jahaerys is dead. Aegon has 3 kingsguard. Cole is occupied. Two with Alicent isn't unreasonable.
@@havok6280 idk maybe be the actual queen and her kid that’s still alive and not the queen mother who holds no actual office of power
@messytenzo6838 Helaena has less power than Alicent. Alicent at least sits on the small council. Jahaera is a girl. If she has a claim to the throne, Aegon's claim is weakened. He claims the throne because Rhaenrya is a woman. If his daughter is his heir he looks like a hypocrite.
Again recall that Cole is Lord Commander. Who do you think he would want protected in his absence?
That said, why aren't you mad Rhaenrya didn't send one of her Queensguard with her sons to the Vale???
@@havok6280 her not sending one is also bad wringing, and Cole wouldn’t get to just appoint two to the former queen without bringing up questions. Also it’s not about being heir it’s about Helaena absolutely should have more power as queen and mother to former heir and the only reason she doesn’t is so the show can keep a actor ppl like on and just never explain why she still has any power
@@messytenzo6838how is it bad writing when Rhaenrya old has two Queensguard left? It's simple logistics.
Helaena has no power because no one takes her seriously. She's not Alicent. She's not Cersei. How exactly would she exercise power? Like I said, she isn't on the council.
Also, the Kingsguard protect the king and his heirs. That's why Rhaegar had 3 at the Tower of Joy. It wasn't to protect Lyanna, it was to protect Jon. Women just don't matter.
House of Dragons season 2 is terrible. It’s a snooze fest. There are few if any likeable characters. No one to really root for. The dialogue is dull. No comic relief, like we had in GOT.
