As a book reader it’s been fun seeing them flesh out some of the not so clear sections of the book; also the focus on character development over spectacle this season has given deeper feeling when characters do fuck up or ultimately die

We’re in a world now where giving the middle ground negative take nabs more traffic than the positive ones do. So here goes. If your instant reaction to this movie is sitting around a 6 then maybe we’ve got Big Picture ideas pouring into the fandom of the Midnight Boys. We don’t need that taking itself so seriously vibe here. Where nothing will ever be good enough. Movies killing it and it’s a fun ride and a love letter to the Fox superhero era. This take isn’t spelling good for future pods on this cast thats supposed to be about culture and superhero movie content. Don’t take yourselves so seriously! The Big Picture Midnight Boys Ringerverse Crossover wasn’t needed and Amanda still wanted to be here less than I did by the end of it. 🍎

One thing I hate that the show did was not give certain Targs like Rhaenys and Aemma different color hair like the books. In the books Rhaenys has Black hair because she's half Barathoen and Aemmas hair is blonde but it's not completely platinum blonde because she has Arryn blood.

Charles 2nd point is completely wrong, all those bastards that became Dragon riders in the show are close to the bloodline. Being a bastard doesn't change your proximity to the bloodline it just removes you from the line of succession. The only major mistake with the dragons was parading the head of one through the streets like it was a prized Stag they hunted in the woods

That’s about as warm as a certain kind of father gets. I definitely read it as an almost touching scene between father and son.

As much as I appreciated the spectacle of the dragon claiming I say this with an open mind and heart I don't really have any sort of feelings/emotion for Olf or Hugh. I felt more emotion with the Stark kids got their Dire wolves.

I disagree that Jace is a bastard - technically sure. But as far as the realm is concerned - Laenor is his father and he and rhaenyra were legally married when Jace and co were born…. But yeah it was a sad difficult scene. I didn’t take it as racism but more as superiority
