1) I wonder if the reason for this mystery could be to hide who his real mother is. I know, it's fairly common to have players who claim to be younger than they really are, but claiming to be the son of a woman who died years prior? Maybe, the identity of his real mother could cause some problems, and they'd rather keep this a paradox instead of opening a can of worms 2) This could also explain why so many players are casually getting "injured" during international breaks. I mean, how many of those injuries actually took place on the pitch? You usually read news like "X player injured in training" and, while they're plausible, sometimes it makes no sense, especially since they don't even tell you what happened exactly (like "a player tackled him badly" or "he fell on his back") 3) I'm not so sure about the "Brazil was offered the chance of an easy draw and a future World Cup". First of all, the 2002 World Cup had other match scandals, so adding "they favoured Brazil" is just rubbing salt on the wound. Secondly, why would they only get that World Cup 16 years later? Unless there's something like "they already planned on giving Germany the 2006 World Cup and FIFA *really* wanted the 2010 one to be in Africa" 4) This does seem like a bizarre, exaggerated story.
