What a bizarre, intriguing album. It really describes what a lonely winter is about.
Is it just me, or does anyone else can't stop listening to this album? I've been listening to it for 2 months, at least once a day. An inexplicably good album, with an incredible atmosphere.

And they just sit there, so it looks just like a big black spot
And so I often wake up at 5AM and go watch them for a few minutes, then I go back to sleep
And then... very often I'm having that dream
I dream that I wake up because, umm, ravens await for me on that tree and tell me to look for Raven's Tsar
Because he wants to see me
And so I dress up, I get out on my street and walk ahead for a while
And then I see a big, big spotlight
Only that, ummm... it sends darkness instead of light
I walk towards it and all of a sudden I find myself in a forest, in the middle of a night
Ummm I walk slowly amongst the trees, I wander
And all of the sudden I see Raven's Tsar
And he's just walking, slowly, with the hands behind his back
Uhh (Sighs) He's got a body of a human, well he's slightly hunched
And he's got a raven's mask on his face
And I know he wanted to see me
And I know he wanted to see me, but I'm afraid to leave my hiding, so I just stare as he walks away
And so I just stand there like a mo**n, not sure what to do with myself
Aaand after a while I hear wailing
Ummm I realise that I'm surrounded by some ghosts of, wailing - from pain, not sure - children
So I run away from there
And I run through the forest
And eventually I get to a large, beautiful field (meadow), in the middle of which stands a palace
But at the border of the forest and the field
The same ravens that told me to look for the Tsar
They sit on the carcass of some man
So I want to go to the palace
But they say I've got to die before I enter
I tell them it's not my time, but they insist
I keep saying with a smile on my face - "it's not the time yet, not the time yet..."

What an amazing album. But that song, in particular is just mindblowing. Gives me a vibe of April Rain - One is glad to be of service, but much, much darker.

Zadzwoni po śmieciarkę i wtedy cię dotkną, podniosą i wywiozą za miasto. Przełamiesz ciemność! Za miastem, za ścianą jest zupełnie inaczej. Nie ma nieba i nie ma domów. Tak naprawdę to jeszcze tam nie byłem, ale wiele słyszałem. Teraz gromadzę zapasy na wyprawę. Mam dżem i dużo chleba, ale jedzenie to nie wszystko. Zbieram do puszki śrubki i sprężynki od długopisów. Mam też szklaną kulkę ze świderkiem w środku i rolkę czarnego papieru. Z tego powstanie mój pojazd, kiedy odpowiednio połączę to wszystko drucikiem. I codziennie chodzę po mieście, i wymacuję stopami nowe słowa o odpowiednich połączeniach i zapisuję je w zeszycie. Też rysuję. A właściwie one robią się same, a co się narysuje, to zaraz robię. Już mam trójkąt z drutu. W jednym rogu śrubka, w drugim grubsza śrubka z łebkiem w drugą stronę, a w trzecim oczko na szklaną śrubkę ze świderkiem. Kiedy ją tam włożę, wystartuję. Ale konstrukcja jest jeszcze niekompletna. Nie mam wszystkich potrzebnych danych. Dlatego codziennie rano wychodzę i szukam ich na chodniku i na różnych chodnikach w mieście, a potem wracam i zapisuję wszystko w moim zeszycie."

Zrolować niebo z chmurami jak niepotrzebną mapę i wtedy się okaże. Wtedy wszystko będzie jasne i tak jak chcę - od drugiej strony. Za miastem."
Piotrek mówi: „Jak zawsze, jak wracam, i dziś czeka na mnie pod oknem krzesło. Przestawię je na środek, na dywanik. Tu mój drewniany koń, moje laboratorium. Czeka na mnie, a ja przychodzę. Najpierw do ściany, do drzwi. Wyjmuję z komody szklaną śrubkę ze świderkiem w środku. Potem siadam: nogi razem, a ręce na kolanach. I czekam na niego, na niego - tego, co przychodzi. I ment Mgła.Its a new black metal genre for me.
It's a nifty strategy. If they released something like this as Mgła, fans would complain about the change in direction. If they released three times as many albums in the style of Mgła, fans would get burned out.
@@timewave02012 its also smart on a business standpoint. They keep all the profit from publishing and royalties as well since there's no label cutting in. Why expect a label to push your brand when you're already making a killing on your own made hype.

I dont know how this happens but Darkside has always surrounded himself with great musicians. Every project he has ever taken part is unique in its own way and has completely different drumming style.

This album keeps popping up in my feed, almost daily, and I listen every single time! That intro is sooo good I can’t help it
I like how part of Hauntologist's band logo has that Mgła font there, and it is very creative they did that. The music just brings a familiarity of Mgła's musical eeriness and then brings it into a new direction which I really like. Just got the album yesterday, and I am really going to enjoy this as the AOTY 2024.
I know Mgła will be releasing their new albums this year which I'm looking forward to.
Great music. Solidifies my conviction that anything No Solace labelled has its smoothly articulate way around dynamics. Also the lyrics - moving, definitely worth the read on their own, constitutes poetry.

Such a welcome addition to the mgła/kriegs catalogue, which is already near-perfect. I get the impression they are really testing the sonic waters with this one and enjoying the process, can't wait to hear more. I also appreciate the fact that the instrumentation is a bit more understated while still being technically impeccable, unlike on kriegs which seems really showy by comparison, to the point of being distracting. Hauntologist gets the balance just right.

There is a big tree near my house.
And every day about 5 AM dozens of crows come here and sit at that
tree, which makes it look almost like a huge black smear.
I tend to wake up at around 5 AM, so I go watch
them for a while, and return to bed after a few minutes.
And I often have a dream of this kind:
In my dream, I wake up because of ravens that wait at that tree for me to come,
and they order me to look for the tzar of ravens because he wants to see me.
So I dress up and walk out to my street. I walk like this for some time, and,
suddenly, I see some huge, massive spotlight... only it emits darkness instead of light.
I head towards it, and, suddenly, I’m in the woods
And so I walk among the trees, and, all at once, I see the tzar of ravens.
He strolls right there... slowly, holding his hands
on his back. He has a human-like body, slightly hunched,
and he wears a raven mask on his face. I know
he wanted to see me but I am too scared to leave my cover,
thus I only stare at him walking away. And so
I stand there like an idiot not knowing what to do,
and after a moment I can hear some moaning.
I realize that I am surrounded by ghosts wailing of sorrow,
I don’t know, of pain? Children, maybe?
So I run away from that place,
I run through the woods until I finally reach a huge beautiful glade
in the middle of which stands a palace.
Yet, at the line between the forest and that glade, the same ravens that ordered me to look
for the tzar sit on the corpse of a man.
I want to go to the castle but they tell me that in order to enter I
need to die first. So I tell them it is not the time yet but they insist.
And I repeat over and over again
"It is not the time yet...
It is not the time..."

Przepiekny Album ❤ i nie möwie tylko o bohaterze Darkside tylko po calosci. Swietna liryka i muzyka ma tä calosc i moc ktöra ogarnia calosc tej mrocznej zeczywistosci. Piekna nagrywka tych wspanialych twörcöw. Jest blisko do outarza smierci ale tez by obejsc sie bez konsekwencji wiary. Bo jest pieknosciä uzycia instrumentu. Pozdrawiam i polecam tä plyte dla kazdego cos nowego. 🎉
Tak, śliczny jest ten album, taki fajny i wspaniale cudowny, przepięknie wartościowo niesamowity ;) Jedź na front, tam masz outasz śmierci na każdym metrze. Jest tam tak pięknie i uroczo, że może nawet z kości wybudujesz sobie domek, a ze skóry trupów daszek można zrobić. Coś pięknego. Takie to cudowne. ❤❤ Polecają nawet zgniłe ciało w tekstach - doskonałe do zalepiania dziur w ścianach. Hmmm, jak pięknie.
Mi tu chodzi tylko o muzyke bo sam jestem muzykiem Album jest perfekcyjnie zrobiony a Ty mi tu po majtach jedziesz. Muzycy majä wlasne zdanie nie liczäc innych uznanie to mojezdanie i nie zmienie. Swietny album i final,.pozdrawiam cie i zycze sukcesu 🎉@@KveldUlfSatan

When I had similar view from window I also had depressive tendencies and hide over music like a kid behind mommy's dress. Now it's just a dark past.
So glad this album found me here, a rare treasure I'm not letting go of. Flawless armospheres which perfectly build then release into a deeply honest and raw catharis i havent heard in years, vaguely reminesant of Katatonia's 'brave muder day' and Godspeedyou!blackemperor through a black metal lense, with phenomenal drumming and an equally gifted vocalist...so what, is this some sort of supergroup or something? Thankyou so much for this, absolutely pefect, an instant classic !

Not what I espected as a whole after listening Ozymandian a hundred times BUT it's such a great record. I feel tendencies from out of what black metal offers usually and I gotta say that I love it. Congrats guys, it's great!
