@@Need4Built I did my wife's Q7 last year. Replaced a piston and intake valves. No swap just a rebuild. I'm hoping to get away with just intake valves on this one but I won't injure until the motor is out. I'm pumped that it's a manual
123k isn't that many miles. I had 3 Audi 200 20v turbos (still have one). You can rack up the miles on those things. The 20v avant has approximately (odometer officially broke at 264k miles about 16 or 17 years ago) 450k or more miles. It's been a daily and I put loads of mileage on it. Now rust is becoming a concern (rockers are pretty rough). Still runs like a champ though! Your s4 is capable of way higher mileage of maintained properly. It's a great car!

I bought a 2013 B8.5 Audi S5 early last year with a 172000 miles, was in perfect condition, engine and trans was maintained. Just bought all stage 3 parts.
Thanks for reaching out man! What’s your budget? I would say a stage 1 Ecu/Tcu tune first. Then intake, turbo inlet, intercooler. If you have access to e85, you can do stage 1+ with a hpfp. Lots more torque/power overall.

Wow, so uninformed. This engine has timing issues. Noticeable on Cold Start. Water pump/thermostat requires regular attention. 1st suggestion… massive intercooler upgrade. Well done on the transmission issues of the DSG.
I really don't want to be going into deep details as I'm trying to keep the audience entertained but more importantly you're correct about the timing issues etc. All other maintanance including waterpump, thermostat, pcv, and things I haven't done on camera were done right before i bought the car which i verified. I have yet to check the timing chain stretch on camera but if i have to pull the motor that just makes for more fun content! Cooling is coming up very soon!

It has a very noticeable timing chain rattle for no more than 2 second on cold start. idk if its the tensioner or the timing chain becoming loose but should I be concerned? I've been told that a small rattle is nothing to be worried about as long as it stops within a few seconds after starting, and I am wondering if that is valid?

My stage 1 tune (to keep it more daily friendly) laucnhes as fast to 60 as my buddys 2007 gallardo. Its such an impressive car.

2012 and up apperntly have fixed all the dsg issues is that correct ?
build date of 06/2013 and up don't have the same mechatronic issues as the b8's
