But I am looking into another run and some options there That should happen sometime this year. This particular knife was made by Kubey as was everything up to this point. But my newest knife that is in production now the Fractus was made by Kansept. Thanks for the kind words. I really like how it came out and I agree with you on the value. That is my number one goal. Absolutely. I believe it was MetalComplex whose review video of the Brian Brown Yeager M that came with a thumbnail that said something like “Sorry for showing you this cool knife you can’t get”. It was sold out everywhere. I put my email in to be notified on KnifeJoy’s exclusive (4 variations). Less than 30 minutes later I got the notification and jumped on it, and now I have a Yeager M in Damasteel. Never saw another come back in stock, so I got REALLY lucky. But it’s a great way to keep tabs on sold out knives.
I love how Tempest Knives are centered around ergonomics. You can definitely tell K.C. is a knife guy and has a certain design aesthetic. I searched long and hard on the secondary market for a Tempest Microburst and I was very pleased to acquire one. Kubey does a great job with the execution.

I was just on KnifesFast live stream and he said there going to do another run of those knifes, yay, just picked up a AD15 scorpion lock and a SR1 what a beast of a knife really they both are wicked
I need some help on this one: as soon as I apply enough pressure to either the flipper or hole to open the knife, there is a loud "click." Then, a fraction of a second later, the knife flips open and the lock engages. I can only guess this initial "click" has to do with the detent ball popping out of the detent hole. It doesn't effect action, but it's really annoying! I've disassembled the knife, cleaned everything, but it's worse if anything. I like this knife, but this "double click" (what I described, followed by lock engagement) makes me choose a different knife to carry.
Hmmm that's an interesting observation indeed. I paused and reversed MC opening it over and over in the video and I must say that I'm not really hearing exactly what you're describing with your issue. To answer your question, yes, as with any liner, frame, or compression lock knife (knife that operates with a standard detent ball & hole) the first initial *click* when opening the blade is the detent ball breaking away from the blade hole that it pockets into while in the closed position. But usually if there is a noticeable audible sound, it gets mixed into the sound of the back of the blade making forceful contact with its stop pin. What I mean by that is the action of it opening by flipping/flicking is so quick/immediate that the sound you'd get from the detent ball breaking away would just be blended into the **thwack** when the blade hits the stop pin. Therefore just usually making an overall uniformed noise since the second action sound follows in unison with the detent break away. How does yours sound compared to the one MC has in the video? Sorry for the lengthy response, and hope this helps with the initial question.

On mine, it's VERY obvious and loud (hence a "double click" every time it opens). The weird thing is, never seen this issue before on any other knife (and I have several liner locks and frame locks, including some from the OEM of this one).

This is a great knife and one of the best knives I purchased last year. It's a great design by KC and Kubey did a great job on the build.
