This mare has yet to run "full out" .... her ears are always pricked and she is just loping along, right into the winner's circle. I cry every time I watch her run. I am so grateful to have been alive when this mare was running. How special she is and how glad her owners brought her back again this year. She loves racing and we all love to watch her. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.
ruffianruiz, I think you're opinion is pretty spot on. I'm old enough that I got to see the great Ruffian race as well. She truly was remarkable. She was a front runner that set blistering fraction's. But like you said, Zenyatta just has the desire to run down and go by whatever horse lay in her path. She uses her size and stride length to her maximum potential. She's just one of those rare thoroughbred's that refuses to lose.
RA is a great horse but if you look at this WOW! Zenyatta is the QUEEN! Alot of people say she's just a poly horse but just look at her one race on dirt. That was awesome.
That BC Classic performance was just amazing. It’s all well and good being last and coming around the whole field in mares races, but to take on the best Colts in the world and come from last to first off the bend shows what an amazing burst of speed she had. Honestly don’t think I’ve seen many horses with that burst of speed at the end of a 10 furlong race. She made world class horses look average the way she won that race
Who is better? Who cares? We are blessed with 2 of the best race horses of all time! I am just happy to see these 2 amazing athletes racing at the same time, we all win!
What an exceptionally well educated TB. Not many can use their backs the way she does. The faux Spanish Walk in the mounting yard is the perfect warm-up exercise. Credit must go to whoever started her under saddle & the exercise rider, who knows "balance is key" to a large horse. In every race Zenyatta travels on her near lead all the way, until the final turn. Then she rounds the bend, straightens, changes of lead; Fresh muscles & from there the race is over. CONGRATULATIONS TO HER TEAM.
In my over 40 years as a racing fan, I've never seen a horse with a turn of foot as explosive as Zenyatta's - neither male nor female. Simply the most spectacular runner I have ever seen. Even on her bad days, she overcomes adversity to be first at the finish line. Mike Smith said it best, she's not just "Horse of the Year," but "Horse of the Decade."
Thanks so much for posting! It's great to have all these races in one vid! She's simply amazing - I can't even count the number of times I've watched her Classic win. She just blows me away.
I love the comment on Zenyatta's 2nd race in this clip. Her allowance win at Hollywood Park when David Flores was still riding her. The announcer say's "Zenyatta is making a mockery of this field." David Flores looked like he could've been sitting back in the saddle giving himself a manicure, and Zenyatta would've went right on by herself. LOL.
Wow, this is vid is great. The best Zen video around. Great quality, too. Goes to favorites. P.S. Wont even bother to start commenting about her, Rachel and other horses. Its all over! Great video. Great horse. Should be neither over nor underrated.
Zenyatta ran with a DIABOLICAL sense of timing. Love this gal. She'd careen down the backstretch, firing when she pleased, as she pleased. She and Mike Smith were a pairing for the ages.
Most of the truly great thoroughbred's that history acknowledges were either blazing front runners or very effective stalkers that just exploded from 4 or 5 length's off the pace to go on and win. It's almost unheard of for a horse that's such a deep closer to be explosive enough to consistently run down and blow on by field's the way that Zenyatta has her whole career. I've just never seen a horse that when her jockey ask her to go just eat's up so much ground in such a short time as her.
Props to TVG for putting together an excellent montage of all 14 of her lifetime wins. A fitting tribute to such a wonderful champion who, IMO, will be sorely missed on the race track.
She is just awesome. I love this girl.....I can't believe that she will not race again. She brings such strength and ability to each of her races. I will miss her and her "dancing feet". Instead of the breeding shed, she should be on "Dancing with the Stars" , LOL.
Great video. Every race is almost exactly the same. From last to first in the blink of an eye. I've never seen a thoroughbred cover so much ground in such short of time. She's great!!!
I love watching this video. Just her natural ability and that huge closing stride that she has is really something to watch. I don't know if Zenyatta could have beaten all the great's that are talked about, but I certainly think she could have held her own with them. Her closing kick, and most of all, her sheer desire to win would have made sure of that. JMO.
Zendayatta loved to beat boys on horse race! She loved to be on spotlight; she loved taking selfies; she loved to.shake it before horse race started; zendayatta had already passed away from racing she was living in a farm; their was an accident that had occured she felt backwards died instantly on spot; she leaves behind 2;ponies! Inam watching this video on November/ Autumn 2024! Holidays Are Approaching?😢😢😮😢
It's already been announced and been new's on every horse racing web-site that Zenyatta is definitely going to race in 2010. Shireffs said her first start will likely be the San Margeritta Handicap at Santa Anita on March 13th as a tuneup. Then, most likely the Apple Blossom Handicap at Oaklawn on April 1st. Other possible's are the Human Distaff at Churchill Downs. They said their long term goal is to run her again in the 2010 B.C. Classic at Churchill Downs.
sweet video... my fav races 1first race, 3 encino II not even picture when they turn for home lol, clement hirsh8, vanity11, clement hirsh 12 won so much money that day,and of course my bday the breeders cup win was ridiculous from outta nowhere...Zenyatta 17/17 one of best horse all time in my opinion that vanity handicap last week too was all afterburners i love they way z just chills and kicks it full on stretch and blows past all
I just saw Zenyatta's Del Mar Race 9 victory on Television Games Network (I'm hooked on that network even though I don't gamble). She has definitely become one of the best horses I've ever seen.
I love this mare. She always gives me a thrill (and a heart attack!) when I see her race. I can't wait til the Breeder's Cup. I think the real question is if Zenyatta can defeat Blame.
Just look at how she dwarfs the other horses. Especially in her Maiden. She's a once-in-a-generation monster. She's definitely a top 20, if not top 10, all time.
Haha, you're awesome! And clearly a respectful person with common sense. I think one thing some fans don't understand is that when they attack others who disagree, they are actually creating a negative association with their horse. These animals are so gorgeous, talented, rare and deserving of praise, and it's just so unfortunate that the negativity/stupidity gets in the way of the appreciation and enjoyment of them. Thanks again for defending a Rachel fan...you're alright in my book ;-)
When you're now 16 for 16 lifetime, and now mentioned in the same conversation with the immortal Citation, and the legendary Cigar, you know that you have truly become one of racing's all-time greats. Except that Zenyatta stands alone of the three as still being undefeated. God blessed this mare with so much size, and physical strength that it really has made her unbeatable. No other filly or mare will ever do it, Rachel included. And I'm not sure there's a colt out there that can either. TJMO.
To the day I die I will never love a horse as much as her, she will give us two beautiful foals, Queen Z's Legacy, and Queen Z's Perfection. I simply adore her and her owners, Michele.
What a G1 distaff race that would be. Ruffian and Lady's Secret setting the pace, Rachel Alexandra stalking a close third and Zarkava and Zenyatta waiting to pounce on them in the stretch.
@kadir1982, me too. I live about 90 minutes from Churchill Downs, and plan on being at Churchill Downs for the Breeders Cup this year. I can't wait, because it will likely be Zenyatta's final race, Goldikova's final race, and they'll be talent a-plenty on display in Louisville that weekend.
This information comes off of the Horseracingnation web-site. Both Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta just turned in 6 furlong breezes. Rachel Alexandra breezed 6 furlongs over a fast main track at Louisiana Downs in 1:14.00 flat. Zenyatta breezed 6 furlongs over the Hollywood Park main track in 1:13.20. For future Apple Blossom Invitational handicappers, make of those times what you will.
@CPProductions13, Best female thoroughbred ever, that's for sure. But being old enough to have seen Secretariat win the Triple Crown in 1973, I still rate him as the greatest I ever saw, and I'm a HUGE Zenyatta fan!!! Secretariat ran 12 furlongs in the 73' Belmont Stakes in 2:24 flat. And won by 31 lengths. This horse was a machine. When a track or world record is broken, it's usually by 1/5, maybe 2/5 of a second. Secretariat took 2-2/5 seconds off of the record that day, which still stands.
@wantonranger....I appreciate the way you worded your comment. I am rooting for Rachel but have tremendous respect for Zenyatta. It's nice to see a Zenyatta fan state their opinion in such a classy way. There are a lot of Jeanne Dixon's here who think they can predict the future, but with two horses as talented as Rachel and Zen, underestimating either is...as you said....foolish. May they both run well and stay sound. Take care!
Zen reminds me of a filly version of the mighty Forego. Seemingly beat but a thunderous stretch drive to get up in time. There may always be comparisons to RA and who was better but I just appreciate the beauty of excellence both those great fillies exhibited.
As much as I love and respect Zenyatta, and as often as I rewatch all of her races except the last one, there's still nothing to beat Personal Ensign's BC win.
LMAO!! I love win #3. Those poor horses were working their asses off trying to get ahead of one another and then Zenyatta strides out of NOWHERE and makes it look like a piece of cake!!!
Kudos to Zenyatta's camp for racing her wisely (lightly), keeping her sound and happy for the duration of her career. I hate to see her go, but would rather see her go out sound than to see the inevitable problems start cropping up with her as she ages. I wish we'd gotten to see her with RA, and wish she'd run against males earlier, but it's like a romance story, part of the good stuff is wondering what might have been. Adds to the legend so to speak. We need something to speculate about!
You know guys...I have loved every second of Zenyatta on and off the track..it has been a dream come true, but I have to honestly say that if she comes back and gets hurt or in the worst nightmare has to be put down..it would be the end of horse racing for me. I was devastated when Barbaro got hurt and the only reason I survived that was because Zenyatta came along.
Zenyatta was the little version of secretariat imo. Both came from behind, both dominated their rivals. The greatest male race horse in history and possibly one of the greatest mares of our history
Yes they are! Also Zarkava, Europe's HOY last year; Goldikova, two time BC Miler (going for third next year!) and Europe's Champ Older Horse; Vodka, winner of the Japan Derby and the Japan Cup and Japan's reigning HOY!
@treysfull I meant to say Rachel will be more fresh, but that could hinder her in some ways, and Zen might be more fit to race, but she didn't get a nice winter break, she hasn't rested in a while. We'll see on race day :D they are both amazing horses.
continued_______________ As I was saying Jess Jackson might not show, 5 million is a lot, but he isn't hurting for money at all. Zenyatta's kick is just unbeatable in my opinion. Zenyatta is the best horse to come along in a long time. Regardless of how the vote goes we know she is the true horse of the year. You can't be the best unless you go against the best in the classic. Zenyatta did all that was ever asked of her. The handlers of Rachel could have run her in the classic, they didn't because they doubted that she could win. I agree with their decision. Zenyatta was too strong for anyone to beat her.
That last win still brings tears to my eyes.. She was the best I've ever seen! And I'm from Johannesburg, South Africa.
very touching winning!!

One and Only Zenyatta; for ever i think in all probabilities.

Never seen Frankel then ?
Zenyatta is sooo tall and has 'legs for days!' She makes it look so effortless. Awesome filly!!
Winx and zenyatta ..what a race that would be
What a thrill to see them all the stretch runs and watch her win every time. She is as special as can be! Thanks for posting.
17 for 17!!! She's incredible! The greatest mare of all time! She definitely proved it in the Vanity today.
Look at those ears.... you can tell her speed is just effortless and she loved it.
I Luv this horse called Zenyatta! I still get that same chill everytime I watch the Classic. She is a Gift From God! Thank You.
A best horse ever !!! I am very happy to witness the horse of the lifetime.
Thanks so much for posting! It's great to have all these races in one vid! She's simply amazing - I can't even count the number of times I've watched her Classic win. She just blows me away.
Thank you so much!!! I love her!! Today's victory 17 was INCREDIBLE!!!
That career was a wild ride! Loved every minute. Another 15 or 20 yards she wins going away!!! She 2as awesome!!
Amazing! She is one of my favorite race horses.
Leaving a mark while living is the greatest wealth in the world.
another beautiful perfect horse
this horse is amazing!
she is amazing and has heart. i don't think you've even seen her go all out yet. she just does what she has to do to win.
I love the comment on Zenyatta's 2nd race in this clip. Her allowance win at Hollywood Park when David Flores was still riding her. The announcer say's "Zenyatta is making a mockery of this field." "Here is a future superstar." I bet when he said that he had no idea exactly how right he would end up being =D
The most exciting horse to ever race! Loved watching her.
The outside lane queen! Freaking amazing. Beautiful

“How do you describe perfection? Why try! Let’s just watch her run!!”
Zenyatta is one of the greatest of all time. What a HORSE!

We love you!
wow, the classic-14th race-still gives me the tingles!
Great video. Every race is almost exactly the same. From last to first in the blink of an eye. I've never seen a thoroughbred cover so much ground in such short of time. She's great!!!
Now that's what I call play of the game
Faconator LMAO
I could watch that classic win over and over! Such an amazing horse!
She's a super freak! Thank you for this video, I never get tired of watching her.
Zenyatta is Secretariat but mare style!
Agree shes the female version. 👏👏👏👏👏👏💚💚💚
I love watching this video. Just her natural ability and that huge closing stride that she has is really something to watch. ZENYATTA es única.
¡Vayan agrandando el video con sus victorias!.
Suerte para mañana.La épica y la leyenda se llaman ZENYATTA.
I just saw Zenyatta's Del Mar Race 9 victory on Television Games Network (I'm hooked on that network even though I don't gamble). She has definitely become one of the best horses I've ever seen.
just awesome - good to watch when you need a smile
- job well done by these owners letting her grow up first
wow, he takes her on the outside and she out performs them all!!!!! I LOVE THIS HORSE AND RIDER COMBO BRILLIANT!
I love this mare. She always gives me a thrill (and a heart attack!) when I see her race. I can't wait til the Breeder's Cup. I think the real question is if Zenyatta can defeat Blame.
if you watch each race, every horse that came 2nd to zenyatta ran one hell of a race
That Clement Hirsch G1 was absolutely MIND BLOWING.
Just look at how she dwarfs the other horses. Especially in her Maiden. She's a once-in-a-generation monster. She's definitely a top 20, if not top 10, all time.
Just imagine if she had taken the short way around. Simply the best.
I looked her up, looks awesome! Hope she will race in the AB! Would be exciting btw her and Zen.

Zenyatta needed to see the horses in front of her. That is why she always came wide.
racing room)
Zenyatta was incredible! :D she deserves Horse Of The Year more than anyone :)
Those immortal words
"Here comes Zenyatta"
Nothing more need be said.
HOLY CROW THIS HORSE IS AMAZING!
When you're now 16 for 16 lifetime, and now mentioned in the same conversation with the immortal Citation, and the legendary Cigar, you know that you have truly become one of racing's all-time greats. Look at how correct Vic was on Zenyatta's second race saying, "Here's a future superstar!"
@gjnice21 good call. its amazing at the distances she closes...makes the field look like pylons.
@CPProductions13, Best female thoroughbred ever, that's for sure. She is AMAZING! Makes it look so easy!
@wantonranger....I appreciate the way you worded your comment. I am rooting for Rachel but have tremendous respect for Zenyatta. As much as I love and respect Zenyatta, and as often as I rewatch all of her races except the last one, there's still nothing to beat Personal Ensign's BC win.
16-0 now. Awesome, amazing girl. i love her.
Un regalo de Dios Zenyatta y Mike Smith, que belleza estas carreras de esta gran campeona.
Zenyatta was the little version of secretariat imo. Both came from behind, both dominated their rivals. The greatest male race horse in history and possibly one of the greatest mares of our history
2010 may be her year! Last year Curlin, this year RA, I hope Sheriffs takes her around more. I know she can do it!
*Pass into the Iris*
pass into the ass
I’m not the only one that thought this was an overwatch video XD
Zenyatta has a HUGE personality and Ego if that makes any sense and she seems to get really pissed if other horses try to beat her. lol
What a horse.
Yes they are!
Also Zarkava, Europe's HOY last year;
Goldikova, two time BC Miler (going for third next year!) and Europe's Champ Older Horse;
Vodka, winner of the Japan Derby and the Japan Cup and Japan's reigning HOY!
@treysfull
I meant to say Rachel will be more fresh, but that could hinder her in some ways, and Zen might be more fit to race, but she didn't get a nice winter break, she hasn't rested in a while.
We'll see on race day :D they are both amazing horses.
Great horse!
continued_______________
As I was saying
Jess Jackson might not show, 5 million is a lot, but he isn't hurting for money at all.
Zenyatta's kick is just unbeatable in my opinion. They are both sensational.
The interesting thing is, RA burned out pretty early in the season ( very understandable for her tough campaign, but she did tire nonetheless) and Zen has been great and perky, but she hasn't rested in a long time. This could help or hinder them both.
We'll see.
the race is on!
Sheeees BACK - Big to run in 2010, Look out Citation/Cigar.
Para mí...simplemente una yegua extraordinaria, sin límites, es y será la mejor yegua REMATADORA del mundo!!!!👏🇻🇪🏆🏆🏆🏆💗🌷✨
What a beauty!

what a great mare!!! Does anyone know what she went off as when she broke her madien??
