I actually like the thickness. Gives it some good wrist presence and I didn't think it sat too tall on Peter's wrist.

I absolutely love this watch mate! Already pre ordered mine, got the original 103 which ill be looking to offload now, but thats how I know this watch wears extremely well, the height is very deceptive. Honestly wears like a 14mm, no issue at all. Love the case back and the fact that I can take it surfing or dress it up, super excited

Thanks for a closer look at this lovely watch. It got me more excited. It was sold immediately after announced and put a down payment to reserved mine. Can't wait. If no delays, it should be arriving anywhere between September through October.
What will be my 3rd Sinn.. well, technically 2nd. I owned one 104 2x, it was essentially the same white dial 104i. I sold, then near immediately rebought a new another.
This 103 looks to be a special piece. I believe it may be first Sinn pilot watch to have both a ceramic bezel as well as applied indices.. not to mention the 60 year celebration.
The only downside of this piece is that it is a limited edition. 😭😭😭
That is one gorgeous time piece anyone would be very lucky to have this beautiful piece in their collection hard to find any faults with this one fantastic review my friend 👍

I love my 104 but as a bracelet guy I must say, compared to the rest of the watch the bracelets are a bit of let down. not the same build quality and finish as the rest.
@@IDKline Date at 6 is my preferred design. However date and day at 6, standing on top of each other together with the hands result in a windmill!! Not HOT!
God imagine if this would have a handwound Sellita movement with a close caseback, it would be so much thinner and way more wearable.
I know it's expensive but I know it's worth every penny.

Despite being on the thick side even for a chronograph but the design is timeless, and the quality is always there as for many german made watches.
You are steping up the game bringing such high quality and well made time pieces, also i prefer if you bring some affordable alternatives to the table as well.

This is a stunning watch but the domed sapphire crystal on the bottom is pointless to me. SW movement is good and easy to service but for the overall cost of the watch is expensive for what you're getting. No bracelet? And I prefer no screw down pushers. I suppose the limited edition is why the price is high.

Hi Peter, what a stunning beautiful chrono and I am a sucker for chronos which make up over 40 percent of my rotation. You are absolutely correct about German quality in everything that they produce. There is no such thing as "good enough " in their mindset.
28,800 VPH is a plus but 17mm thickness is too much for me

Amazing timepiece, luv Sinn chronos. This reverse Panda hits all the marks for dress or casual wear. Do they have a bracelet version?
I’m on Watchbuys (the lone US dealer) mail list because I have a Sinn chrono from them. I remember the email showing that it came with two leather straps. My personal approach would be to just get the two straps and then buy a separate bracelet for $300 if you wanted the bracelet that much. If you do buy it, I’ll surely be jealous…

Nice review! 👍 i ordered mine yesterday and cant wait to get it... have to wait 9 weeks though... i think if the 17mm are to thick for me i will order a steel caseback from sinn which brings it 2mm down... the it is still around 15mm but it will wear more like your measured 13.6mm visually 😉

i have neither money nor means (no AD in my country) to get this, but that is seriously beautiful. its already almost impossible to earn enough money to get this, but u just had to make it limited. smh
Dear Peter, thank you for your outstanding review. I've been looking at Sinn watches, and have my heart set on the U50. That said, this watch is gorgeous, just a brilliant piece. Yeah, the movement dictates the case thickness here, but in saying that it still wears very well and will probably fly off the shelves like hotcakes...

Double dome is interesting. Seems like it would be love it or hate it on first try. Looks very nice though.
Beautiful timepiece ! Absolutely top notch German engineered watch. The dimensions are nice considering the thickness of the movement, domed crystal. Absolutely love the piece. If this Sinn doesn’t get snagged I will getting one of Sinn’s many tanks available. Have to slim the collection down with this.

G'day mate! Is this another exciting thing that comes out of Germany? 😁 The analoge with the Mercedes AMG is fitting and like the AMG, not everyone can handle a watch like this. It's a toolwatch albeit one that exudes luxury. Love the polished chamfers around the subdials. Beautiful footage as always! Cheers mate! 👍

Still waiting for mine, but, at least I am confirmed to get one. In the mean time, considering strap options. The leather ones it comes with are nice, especially the dark green one. Naturally, this watch style wears best on a 2-piece leather strap of some sort.
However, I did purchase a matching 103 H-Link Bracelet. I'm a bracelet guy and must have a bracelet option in the mix. It will get overall a bit heftier. But, I think it could balance out the weight of the watch nicely, also.
I think the watch is a strap monster. It would look great on a NATO. However, because the watch is on the thicker side, I'd be reluctant to actually use one on it. May ride a bit too high off wrist, even if single-pass. Idk? I guess I can try with the ones I have to see if it works or not before committing to buying some particular NATO straps I had in mind that would look good, but may not actually wear as well.
Anybody with a similar 103 wear on a NATO? What are your thoughts and experience of it if you have?

Classy watch not sure if I could afford to get this one serviced but if you can afford an AMG you can afford it.

Sorry it’s just too thick. The movement’s low power reserve is now oddly outdated and poor for anything this century. Hamilton is probably a better mid tier chronograph. But I still love my Sinn556a.

Reminds me of Autavia, that is 2mm thinner and was still too think for my taste unfortunately cuz love the look.

Great review of this Sinn. They are spectacular however that thickness ruins this piece for me. In addition, over here in the UK the suppliers are very poor & Sinn didn't anticipate the demand for the U50 so whilst it took orders & money they couldn't deliver.
It would be also nice bring Nomos Glashutte to the channel Peter. Are glashutte made watchs on other Tier? Love to hear what you think.

The negative thing about the watch, its limited. So I bought the Guinand Flieger Chrono GMT. Made in Frankfurt. 😉

What is the use for a 12h bezel, even if you are a pilot? I'd prefer a divetime or countdown bezel. I use them regularly on my watches.

Great vid Peter once again, but alas I'm not a fan of this watch at all, and most German watches in general,mind you the Glashutte you reviewed was an exception and I ordered one after seeing your vid.I do have a Sinn 240ST which I would never have bought for myself either but was bought for me as a gift and it has proven to be a real corker of a watch and one which I wear more often than others.On the matter of the Mercedes ....I would never have taken you for a guy who liked hairdressers cars......only joking cobber and have a great day.

Beautiful… very similar in appearance to the classic Heuer Autavia, which is my favourite watch. I agree on German manufacture - I own a Damasko DS67 which is beyond tough. The thickness disappears when you put it on your wrist. Thanks Peter!

I know you touch about the thickness already but I can stop being scared of its thickness. After a few years, how does it stand? Does it still feel good on the wrist and is thickness still ok after the honeymoon period?

Hmmm, I like the caseback buuut....do I wanna pay 2/3gs more for a Sinn that is more luxuary than tool,? especially as it looks so similar to the 103's but shiny......Isn't it a bit like the opposite of what Sinn usually do? It sort of has a Brietling feel?

It is an attractive dial, albeit very generic and reminiscent of so many other watches. But if unique is not your thing then you cannot go wrong with this one. Many have commented on the unnecessary thickness of this watch 17mm, this must be intentional because nothing warrants that thickness. Little posted on the movement , from the screenshot looks like ETA or Selita clone, unfortunately lever chronograph and not a column wheel. Unfortunately no decoration on the movement besides painted screws, why was this blue paint necessary or why this movement displayed under glass is unclear.
Would be nice if bracelet had solid end links with curved connection to the case, instead of straight pins that leave a gap. Drilled lugs would not hurt either.

Nice but given the Navitimer design they released, I find this is not s better watch…
I'm a huge Sinn fan. The quality in person is so solid. They make true prescision tools. This one has more bling factor than some, but you could put that pup through the wringer and it would be just fine. My only gripe with Sinn is that because of the proprietary technology, only the factory in Germany can to the full range of service and repairs. There's supposed to be a US rep who can do some things, but it's all a bit of a pain, and time consuming. But hey, you can't have everything. Thanks for another great video.
