I had the circular strawberry holder and the next season it just shattered into pieces because it was made from a not UV resistant plastic. Nice idea, but it must be made from a more robust material.
I have irrigated my entire garden and veggie patch with 13mm tubing and all the accessories & nozzles from Temu. It’s under half the cost compared to garden centres. Very happy 😊
Finally! A video on products that Aussies can actually access. Well presented, great information. I'm excited!
2:40 Back in another lifetime, we'd punch a small hole in the top, flip the bottle and bury it halfway in the ground. We did this when we grew our special herbs in the bush so we didn't have to keep carting water every day.
The reason the weather station is turning off after 5 minutes is probably due to the powerbank rather than the device itself. If the device isn't drawing enough power through the USB then the powerbank won't detect anything charging and turn itself off. Try it on a USB power adapter instead and see if it stays on.
I am surprised that you've teamed up with Temu. It's very tempting to purchase things so cheaply. However, they rely on cheap and forced labour, exploitative working conditions, and other issues, including data breaches. They refuse to be transparent about these practices. Many people, including myself, refuse to purchase through them for these reasons. I would also prefer to source items through small business, if available.
@@craigmoss2981I like to believe people do the best they can with the knowledge they have, but you can’t tell me with SO much publicity and knowledge that people don’t know what a horrifically bad company Temu is
I imagine the price of silicone seedling trays will come down as the product catches on. Silicone muffin tins are relatively inexpensive; you could make drainage holes in them with a woodburning tool. They're a bit shallow, though.
Thank you for this review. Never considered Temu worthwhile but you’ve changed my mind! Love the soaker hose idea as watering system are not possible here on tank water. But something I can control, attach or turn off is gold!,,,
I love those flat soaker hoses. I use them around trees and bushes for reforesting after a wildfire. They are easy to lay out, you can make them as long as you want, and they will work under an inch of soil if you want to bury them. They're more flexible than the permeable rubber soakers, and so far they have never sprung a leak, unlike every rubber soaker I have. I prefer the light gray version that absorb less hot sun, but they're hard to find and more expensive. But I have tons of wood chips, so it's easy enough to cover up the black ones. I'm just lazy, and I have a lot of watering to do.

Great video. I use a soil blocker. Same size as the one you bought. I make my own soil block mix. 3 parts Coco coir, 1 part coarse sand and two parts well rotted compost that been sifted. Great results with this.
Temu has really good mushroom grow supplies . Grain/ substrate bags, filter disc, injection ports, petri dishes, replacement scapels, syringes. I mean, that's pretty much everything you need right there .
5:58 For some commerical (wholesale) garden settings they actually use trays that are pretty small for seed starting. They use 512, 384, 288, 144, or 51 trays for starting a lot of flowers and herbs. 51 strips are common for peppers and tomatoes. There are some plants they use 3.5" pots for (think bigger seeds like cucumbers and zucchini). So it makes sense that you might not like those deeper trays, all the trays I mentioned are much shorter! I'm not sure if they make any of those in silicone since they are typically used in a commerical setting but it might be worth looking into if you want something shorter for seed starting! I know they make some reusable ones in certain sizes but they are much less common than the plastic ones unfortunately.

If you truly want to support your subscribers, consider sharing your recommendations subtly within your regular videos rather than dedicating entire videos to them. So glad I watched this video because it will save me money. I have a soaker hose set up in my garden with cut hose in between for my raised beds. Last year to help me because my garden got taken over while I was pregnant my dad burned the weeds in and around the bed not knowing that I had a watering systems set up. So I've been trying to replace things when I can. Thank you! Definitely would love to see follow ups on these products later too

Ohhh, I've watched a few of your videos and always find them informative, clear, and relevant. Now that I see you have a dog too makes them even more watchable 😃
That aquaponic tank is maximum 15L - really too small for any fish. You _could_ fit one betta (it will probably eat your shrimp) or a few nano fish (the smallest rasbora varieties, medaka, or mountain minnows.) Cherry shrimp will need a heater unless you're keeping the tank indoors and your inside temperature is maintained above 20°C. Same for betta fish or rasboras or, in your case, guppies. Rice fish and mountain minnows will tolerate temperate climate weather swings where it gets colder at night, so they would be the option I'd go for if you really pressed me on this but the tank is honestly too small for most fish. Better to get a larger tank and suspend some hydro baskets from the top of it.
Love videos like this where products are trialled out. The spike + bottle watering product was great. Was just about to purchase the terracotta version but I don't think it will do the job as well. Great to compare.
Something I found handy with the plastic closhes was put some of the copper tape (also from Temu) around the top to prevent the snails and slugs climbing in.
I found last summer that when I switched from a drip/sprinkler system to overhead misters (except for the tomatoes/peppers/tomatillos) my plants loved it! I think they liked the even soil saturation. I was also able to use fewer misters than the sprinklers so it is using less water.
Very helpful video! I have 3 weeks worth of window shopping sitting in my Temu cart, and some are the products you reviewed. I like the idea of the terra cotta devices for watering, because I have extremely porous ground gravel for soil. Water tends to fall too quickly down below root level. The problem is, as you discovered, they're a bit fragile. I cannot imagine pushing one of those spikes into the ground. I'd have to dig a hole for each one of them.
My soaker hoses only lasted a few weeks. If you try to connect multiple hoses to each other, then there's a pressure issue. I thought it was a simple solution to drip but I'll definitely be putting in a real drip system this spring.
Some expandafoam in the handle of your edger will keep the creepy crawlies out. I saw some decent sized silicone ice cube trays at Kmart the other day, melt a little drainage hole in the bottom & they’d make a good seedling tray for $1.75. Think I might have to go check out temu now…
I have brought so much for out in the garden, got a 50 meter watering system then seen the soaker hose I wondered how good it would be tomato stacks are my favourite.
Keen for that soaker hose for my fruit trees (my garden beds are already irrigated with seeping hose which has its issues but does the job). Also interested in the bottle drippers, I currently use the terracotta spike option for my pots.
I love the Temu seed trays thar have silicone at the bottom to help with releasing the seedlings and the automatic watering system that attaches to a bucket of water for watering my pot plants.

The soaker hose is definitely interesting, I'm looking for something to connect to my barrel on the hill for natural pressure watering. Gonna take a look at it! The best thing I have in my garden is solar watering, but it is a pretty expensive solution, so I would not be able to use it everywhere.

Why would you give them your bank details? You use your credit card for Temu purchases, and you card company gives you excellent protection against fraudulent use.
thanks for the product tips. I've had good results with soaker hose but it is expensive to set up and did perish after 18months. Have looked at Temu drip hose but will definitely grab a couple now with your recommendation.
Temu is direct from wholesaler, Amazon is bought from wholesaler (most are also can be found in Temu), housed in Aus warehouse for quick next day delivery. Bunnings made to order from Aus businesses that also manufacture stuffs in China. Buying from Amazon / Bunnings is basically filtering the Chinese products at premium cost. The only drawback from buying from temu is some tools are designed for Chinese market, or not regulated locally yet.
Never heard of those silicone seed pots, but could you not buy a bunch of silicone deep cupcake or muffin pans from kmart (they're food safe after all!) and just cut a hole in the bottom of each compartment for drainage? They're like $2 or something.

This video may have just convinced me to have a look at Temu. Also, I'm looking forward to the aquaponics video in full!
Interesting trials. Would love you to revisit all the products after 6 months of usage and the a year!
I've been really happy with the garden beds, compost tumbler, garden arches, and small garden tools from temu.
Whoa I had no idea you could buy larger items like for your garden on Temu! I feel like now I’ve been missing out on so much. Hahaha 😆❤️ Liz
Lov the soaker hose and soil blocker. Thanks for the video and the work that goes into producing this content.
ive bought several of the soaker hoses. i really like them. they are much easier than the ones i bought from garden center.
I’d be keen for the soaker hose. I love a bit of efficient gardening. thanks for this video ❤ liked and subscribed
I have a cart full of Temu garden items but was afraid to purchase them because I thought they wouldn't work.
The soaker hose is a win for me :)
Thank you cause I literally had those in my cart and was unsure!
thanks for the product tips. I've had good results with soaker hose but it is expensive to set up and did perish after 18months. Have looked at Temu drip hose but will definitely grab a couple now with your recommendation.
Thank you for this. I dig the Temu👌🏽
Really helpful video thanks, added a few things to my temu cart!
Temu is direct from wholesaler,
Amazon is bought from wholesaler (most are also can be found in Temu), housed in Aus warehouse for quick next day delivery.
Bunnings made to order from Aus businesses that also manufacture stuffs in China.
Buying from Amazon / Bunnings is basically filtering the Chinese products at premium cost.
The only drawback from buying from temu is some tools are designed for Chinese market, or not regulated locally yet.
Love the soaker hose gotta look into it!
Never heard of those silicone seed pots, but could you not buy a bunch of silicone deep cupcake or muffin pans from kmart (they're food safe after all!) and just cut a hole in the bottom of each compartment for drainage? They're like $2 or something.
I'm am now intrigued about the aquaponics fish tank and the soaker hose. Thanks for the heads up 😊
I love the irigation hose! I need something like this for my garden bed for sure
