Nicholas Hoult's character taking photos of the food, knowing he was going to die an hour later...what were those photos for?! My absolute favorite part of the movie, shows how absurdly vain and obsessed he is.
I was the Stand-In for Ralph Fiennes on this. We Shot it in the Summer months down around Savannah. Mark Mylod was an amazing person to work for and he was emanating positive vibes the whole time. There was a scene where they needed me to stand-in for Fiennes and I was standing with my back to the rest of the cast for about 20 minutes. And then John Leguizmos starts talking to me for a few minutes, and when I turned around he lost it, because I had the same build and hair cut as Fiennes we were carbon copies from behind. Janet Mcteer and Paul Andelstein teased me about it. love interacting with that cast.
Before this movie was even released, when there was just a synopsis, I expected cannibalism to be involved. This isn't the type of movie I normally watch but with such a great cast, I couldn't help myself.
I absolutely adored this movie. It was such an obvious stab at real world society and is easily in my top 15 movies of all time. So yes please give me more details
That chicken thigh dish was a nice touch, I was like nah this guy’s got jokes 😂 I wish he didn’t blow up the place at the end and we could have another one like this
@@thumperson3359 it's a horror comedy so technically it fills both fields as a horror movie with scares, shocking scenes and such and as a comedy with jokes and such!! You could call this movie a satire horror comedy. This is one of my favourite movies ever, mostly because i'm in the restaurant industry aswell.
Great summation. One of the most random sidenote I'll give is most people don't realize this, and its a very common error. Anya Taylor-Joy's first name is pronounced "Ann-ya" not "On-ya".
would definetly watch a Part 2 and also would love to hear your opinion on why you believe they just stood there while being burned to death in the last scene?
Great analysis, great presentation, great ending, great all around. This is one of the best videos I have seen on New Rockstars in ages and that is saying something. Wonderful wonderful work, Jessica! I thought MT was my fav here, but you are crushing it.
There are not a lot of movies that leave me horrified and uncomfortable, but this one certainly did. The only movies that have made me feel this same was House of a thousand corpses, Rob zombies Halloween, and the saw films. This is the first film I've watched that made me feel this way but was actually a good movie in my eyes. Idk just the part where they've all excepted they're going to die and they're having the marshmallows and chocolate put on them, and then having to watch a few scenes of them in the fire was indescribably disturbing to me. This film was excellent but def left me with a lasting 'taste'.
Any recommendations or suggestions on movies that keep you guessing like this one ???? I went in uninterested and now I want to find movies on this field of cinematography

He was a legit villain, damn well played too.
Wow 🤦🏿♂️
maybe he was posting on social media simultaneously
@@anonymouslearner2454they mentioned in the movie there was no cell service on the island
@@fidel425 Aha right!
I did not even connect the fact that Margot was the only one that got bread! LOL This was such a great video and I love your energy!
Tortilla is a form of bread

Absolutely need a part 2. The critic's assistant always changed his mind which makes him hiding in a chicken's shed really fitting.
I love that for the 3rd course, the plate was the phone cord that his father used against his mother which led to the stabbing. It is visually amazing
After I finished the movie I was so hungry
Same it made me crave a cheeseburger so much
Yeah
Facts
Had to go make a cheeseburger
I made a cheeseburger afterwards
Would definitely watch a part 2!
They’re all dead
@@filthyxitalians7564 part 2 of the video, with more easter eggs, not part 2 of the movie

That's what I expected to
That's what my boyfriend expected.
It's like you guys know when I watch something. As soon as I finished the movie, this pops up. I love it
I love how serious it is but it made it so funny
Ralph Fiennes is one of the great actors. I adore him.
Has had my heart since The Grand Budapest Hotel.
The Menu is poetry. You can’t deny that
but good poetry? nah.
you dont know what poetry is...
You're right
@@thumperson3359 yes it is
Making Tyler do what he did was a dark chef’s kiss for me, this was a crazy watch I really enjoyed it

A few moments thru the movie I thought, this reminds me of Midsommar, then the ending really sealed the deal!
The cheeseburger seen one of my favorites. That’s where everything culminates to the main issue and true meaning of the movie
Can you explain? I didn’t understand what happened there

Need to part two!! Thank you Chef ❤
5:17 that coming back in the tortillas, another nice touch
I don't know if this will get a Part 2, but I loved The Menu and I love this video.
As someone who's been in the food industry for sixteen years, "the mess" hit home for me
"Balance of power. The money and the talent should be more equal."
YT has shown to have forgotten this
Like your pacing a lot. I’m glad you got through the entire movie so quickly. Really cool extra details.
Absolutely will watch part 2 with ya!!
This was my favorite horror movie of 2022 (which says a lot!) so it's awesome seeing you guys cover it.

Oh wow, no wonder the body language and posture of the kitchen staff looked so legit.
Didn't even realize the critic duo were named Phil and Lil
Beautiful Jess! Love seeing a fellow PNWesterner succeeding! This was beautifully dissected!
I was waiting for thisss! You are the only one I fully trust to create easter eggs like this.

Definitely part 2!!!!
If The Menu teaches us anything, it's *don't go to a restaurant where Voldemort is Chef*.
This movie surprised the hell outta me! I absolutely loved it, every one in it did such an amazing job.
Yes! We request a part 2!
Watched this movie last night and absolutely loved it.
Yes! A part 2 is needed

Great review!
I still nvr rlly got why the assistant had to be killed
I need more, this was soooo good! ❤
This movie gets better the more times I watch it.
What a coincidence: I’m making this cheeseburger for my bf for his birthday tonight! I promised him NO explosions.
Need a part two please!!!
Part 2 please😁 I love this movie, it needs you to figure out that the heck is going on.
I liked the foreshadowing of the ending with the burning out lines at the start 👏🏽
Soo glad you made this! I was just saying "Why didnt they cover it?"
Bravo!!! This was awesome.
plsss make a part 2. i need it D:

Hey, you’re doing non superhero movies, cool! Love this movie and thank you for behind the scene and additional information.
Yass part 2 plz!
Looking forward to part 2!
No one really mentions how Nicholas Hoult successfully made Tyler super obnoxious. Great acting
Ralph Fiennes would be a sick Dracula after watching this movie.
My cousin treated me to a 2💫 Michelin restaurant meal AFTER I had watched The Menu. The food was fabulous...and I made sure i thanked everyone 😅
I just watched it last week so it's perfect timing for me lol
I love you all! We love you chef! Now let’s die!
Great breakdown...makes sense now. I liked the movie but thought it was weird they resigned to their fate in the end.
Part 2!! Love your analysis. I'm off to rewatch the movie now :)
