Pretty sure the resolution of Dorry & Broggy's duel was just Oimo and Kashi going there to pick them up. Kinda like you and a buddy will play video games way too much if someone doesn't come by to remind you of the time.
I love the idea that Dorry & Broggy didn't actually know how long they were fighting. So Oumi and Kashi roll up and Dorry and Broggy are just like, "Hey guys, it's been a while. We haven't seen you for, what, almost 15 years?" And then they freak out when they're told they've been dueling for a century.

I think Devon was there to find an answer to the Seraphin, since they really hurt Blackbeard on Amazon Lily. We know that the Elders are on top of the seraphin chain of command, so looking like Saturn would mean they could control them. I also think it was Augur who teleported food to Luffy bc he knew Luffy would distract Saturn making it possible for them to touch him
Blackbeard with an army of Seraphim sounds like a true nightmare

I think based on the dialogue, they wanted Vegapunk but ofc Saturn is in there. They don't know the chain of command for seraphim but at least know that Vegapunk created it. So the story is BB sends the two to copy Vegapunk to get control of seraphim/pacifista but luck gives them Saturn instead and thinks that was enough.
Why is this not the best ending for a chapter? You were right about Carabu all along, and now he probably won't be around the Strawhats anymore.
Usopp's reaction to his Giant masters was awesome and Luffy in his nika form chatting with Bonney is great not to mention Sanji doing big business with his love haki also Catarina Devon with Augur warp in then warp out with a cold line and Saturn's form now xD

Merphy, apparently Sanji didn't kick the laser. Sandman (one of your reliable One Piece translators) said that the onomatopoeia used in that scene is the same one used for a balloon popping or a gunshot. Sanji DESTROYED light with a kick

Sanji deflecting Kizaru’s attack was so damn sick!

Oda is such an amazing writer to have his characters, even minor ones, make us feel so much emotions. Caribou is a statement to his godly writing skills
Also, dorry and broggy's fight ended because of luffy and ussop showing them that it was pointless in the first place
The resolution to the fight was on little garden itself when Mister 3 sabotaged the fight and they got to patch things up. The fight Zoro and Sanji had over which hunted animal was bigger was the same fight Brogy and Dorry were fighting over

My favourite scene in this chapter had to be Luffy telling Bonney he's been by her the entire time. This is fantastic both metaphorically and physically because Luffy takes what Bonney says at face value, but for Bonney, who believed in the Sun God, to be told "I've always been by your side" must have hit deeply for her.

Its so funny because as an audience we have known for years why caribou was dangerous ( his knowledge) yet the strawhats never knew so they never bothered to take him seriously.
Devon touching Saturn is one of the scariest things to ever happen in One Piece and it lasted literally one panel. Like whoa - that gave me bonechillies. Such a scary small yet HUGE interaction.
Best chapter of the year, Egghead keeps moving the plot more than any other arc post time skip, this might just be the best One Piece has been since Ive been reading weekly for the past 15 years.
Caribou being a Blackbeard fanboy makes sense.
Don't worry about Caribou, Merphy. Blackbeard will be like "I don't need weaklings on my crew, but that is a nice logia you've got there."

Yup. Zoro fans (and im one of them) will say anything to make him feel like he's holding back against whoever he's fighting and refuse to accept that other characters are either stronger than him, or almost as strong as him.
Lucci made luffy use gear 5. Its nonsensical to think zorro is beatting someone who can do that with ease.
But but Lucci is still using and needing awakening for Zoro and and Luffy when gear 5 on his own terms harumph
Zoro isn't "playing with his food". He wasn't using 3 swords at this time, but he was earlier. He's just switching up between styles, like he usually does.
Would be the opposite of smart for Zoro to "stall" Lucci, considering he felt Saturn's arrival and already knows Kizaru is there. Would be a lot smarter to finish him quickly, and help where it's needed.
If Zoro could've finished Lucci in a second, he would have.

I'm having A BLAST in hearing and seeing Merphy mimic Caribou in a disgusted manner 😂😂 It's always a good day for me as a OP fan when a new Merphy chapter review drops!!
The power levels aren't that far apart in raw strength. Kaido and Big Mom are kind of exceptions, but Ennis Lobby Lucci didnt need to scale that much to reach endgame strength, and Zorro, still evidentally stronger than him, isn't strong enough to curb stomp in a clean fight without taking it seriously.
I don't know how much I trust Caribou's little revelation. He pulled pretty much the same act all the way back in Sabaody and we found out his ultimate goal was to kill Luffy once they were together on a crew. I don't think this mysterious contact he's been talking about this whole time was Blackbeard. I think he might end up being some kind of triple agent or something. But I think Blackbeard is probably going to see through him and he's finally going to get the send off you've been asking for.
I agree, I came to this realization when I thought about it. His unknown contact is a man he's never met in person before? This just seems like a plot to get off the island.

I just want to say that there was a small panel between Kizaru going "Nah, you just die already." and his actual attack, where you could clearly see him closing his eyes, because he is clearly conflicted.
"Kizaru is going to turn!"-theories are still on the menu!
Also: I think Kuma's and Augur's warping capabilities work quite differently. Augur's warp seems to be instantaneous, while Kuma "pushes" himself (or others) just very, veeeeery quickly. Kuma's might go farther. But Augur should be quicker.

Zoro did use 3 sword and KOH in the previous chapter. Also, Sanji did not merely block Kizaru attack but destroy Kizaru laser/making it explode.

One detail you missed in your hilarious Kiazru rant was that he closed his eyes when he attack bonney. He's doing his job, it's eating his soul. Defect or not, this is greatly affecting him.

I believe the Giants' battle ended because Oimo and Kashi (after being told by Usopp during Enies Lobby) went to Little Garden to find them and convinced the two captains to stop fighting. It was mentioned either this chapter or a previous one during like a cover story I feel like.
They originally planned on going to Little Garden and take their captains with them. But then Usopp informed that Dorry and Brogy were still fighting. So Oimo and Kashi decided that they should wait a little more before checking on them. In a cover story we see Oimo and Kashi leaving Water 7 with their destination being Elbaf. Then after the time skip we see Dorry and Brogy still fighting on Little Garden in a cover story. So Dorry and Brogy must have returned to Elbaf only recently
My guess for the Blackbeards' plan:
Have Catarina copy _Vegapunk's_ face, so they can command the Seraphim in any scenario where an Elder Star doesn't show up (either giving them a military advantage or forcing one to make an appearance for possible further scheme reasons). The Seraphim made an impression on Teach on Amazon Lily after all.
But then they just run into _Saturn_ and go "oh that makes things easier" *yoink.*
And so yeah Teach now has an Elder Star's face on one of his subordinates which is _terrifying._

As I read the final page, I was convinced this would be Merphy's favorite chapter. Yep. Absolute peak, nothing else compares to that last page chock full of swampy goodness. We finally see his dream

I bet there's going to be a logical reason for Sanji's block, like VP had integrated the holo-repulsing tech into the future boots. Anyone could block Kizaru with their foot, but only Sanji would think to do that.
At some point in the series, Caribou is going to say "undulate" and it's all gonna be over
Caterina and Van Augur probably read about what's going on on Egghead in the newspaper and warped over quickly, I don't think they were absolutely clueless about Saturn being there. They found out and were able to arrive very quickly.
Also: Caribou is so fighting Bartolomeo at the final war 😶

My favorite Reddit theory about what Devon and Van Auger were at Egghead for was Vegapunk. Specifically if they can take Vegapunk shape maybe they can take his authority for the authority chips? Or in other words if Devon can copy Vegapunk she could command the Pacifista. now she has Saint Jaygarcia Saturn she has an even higher level of authority not to mention maybe his powers to boot. Either way because Devon said mission complete as soon as she copied someone and she was not there for Saint Jaygarcia Saturn originally.
