You guys are awesome! Your British videos are My favorite 😊😊😊😊
Can you please do one on Cesar Chaves?
I was born in the East end of London, in Bethnal Green, my Grandmother used to clean for the Krays, I have a photo of me as a baby on Ronnie Krays knee as my Grandma took me cleaning, when my mother was ill.
At Christmas we would get a hamper courtesy of the Krays, which went on for many years.
It wasn’t until the 1970’s that I realised how dangerous they can be, but as my Grandmother said, “The East end always closed ranks”, and looked after each other.
My Grandmother died in 1995 in Tower Hamlets and at her funeral, I was introduced to a number of Uncles, I never knew I had, apparently they had been helping her majesty being rehabilitated.
It’s amazing what you learn about your family.
This episode brought a lot of those memories back.
Thanks for sharing.
They were monsters there is nothing glorious about them
Got lucky. Both were nonces
@@BobbyFlay14we’re they pedos?
@@sxintG there are many stories about the upstairs rooms at pubs being used by them to take very young boys to
Tom Hardy does an amazing job playing both Krays in the move "Legend ".
Yes! He is amazing in that movie! 🩵👍
He should've gotten 2 academy awards for that one. So much humor in the film - great acting, and soundtrack/score.
@@Kerwin-Kendell If you put it that way Kerwin I'll have to watch "Legend".
The original movie with the twins from Spandau Ballet was better
@@EllinoItalos maybe it was. I watched part of it, but will watch the whole film since you say that 🥃
Born in east end. In a pub Crown and Sceptre know as the Jug House. It's now a Chicken Halal take away. We did not pay anything to the Kray gang but they were always there to help my Nan. East end was a tough place to grow up but much safer than it is now.
As a father of identical boys. I laughed my ass off at the narrator saying something they did made them have a close bond. There is no closer bond out there than identical twins. They don't need any help with it. They come out of the womb that way. And it's a rare occasion that identical twins do not have a bond that incomprehensible by other people. It's hard to even understand, and I see them day after day. They don't even have to speak to one another many times.
Twins often communicate via silent transmissions of thought.
@@quantumpotential7639 There's no compelling scientific evidence that twins, or anyone for that matter, communicate telepathically.
@@quantumpotential7639i love that ❤
Hi, I lost my twin brother a few days before Christmas 2009. I still feel aa though half of me died that previous night. I Found him dead, and our mum with me. I'm convinced this triggered the PTSD I now suffer from. As twins, i feel to hard to have your own identity, as you're brought up only aa pa0rt of a pair- one of "the twins"...
It's still bloody hard every day...
I want a reson to laugh again...
@quantumpotential7639 not entirely true in my own experience...
I think this is the BEST documentary about the Krays I have ever seen to date. We here in America have definitely heard about them. I grew up in the Chicago ghetto and we knew about these guys over here. Great Job!
Had me laughing at times (what they used to get up to when they were younger).
I saw an ad for a movie about the Krays on BBC in about 1970. Some guy was laughing maniacally as he sprayed down a room with a stream of bullets from a submachine gun. I've never forgotten it.
Loml
Fascinating, disturbing, terrifying. A great story, well told.
Amazing quality on many photos/videos of faces of people in this series.
Never in my life did I ever thing I'd hear Enugu mentioned in a UA-cam video. I literally lived a couple hours southwest of there.
Descendants of the family unfortunately have colossal egos because of these two.
My grandmother worked the taxis taking children to verious special schools, two of which were memebers of the kray family and they were vulgar kids who spat and swore at my grandmother and threatened her, they loved bringing up that they uncles were the kray twins which made them better than everyone else...
The big burly taxi driver who worked with my grandmother often told the two little thugs on multiple occations that this is swansea wales, nobody gives of toss who the krays were or who their Descendants are as their gang empire and power disappeared like a toxic fart in a hurricane when they went away....
In our class at school the was lots of varnished over initials carved into the old single pupil wooden ink well type tables we used, mixed with the new 2 seater desks that were just arriving. In Our house masters office was a desk he let you look and touch at if you won 5 credits. The desk had the initials " RK" etched into it. Our school was Daneford Boys School where the Krays had attended and we boys were in awe of that desk. What is even more surreal to me is, Micky Flannagan the comedian was in my class. And when I saw an old school mate from primary/secondary school in Hoxton market who told me he was a mini cab driver but was going to be a professional boxer and did I want tickets, I politely declined thinking it was B.S. The boxer was Michael Watson. Then I spent my youth thieving with the Mickey Blue-it crew and run a pub for a south London gang, the Tibb's. My life was a quiet one compared to many others. An era never to be repeated and a time without modern technology where everything was possible. If you had the bollocks to do it.
I love Mickey Flanagan!
What drivel
hahaha are you jealous 😁@@johngilmore697
Did ye aye 😞
I went to daneford school from 1970. Till 1975. I remember seeing free the krays etched into a door in a classroom. I was 13. Did not know then who they were but then I read the book about them a few years later It’s a good read
As Jeremy Clarkson once said, "The Krays were the reason why the Mafia never got a foothold in London".
That’s tabloid journalism from Clarkson.
The Krays went to USA to try and get in with the Mob.
The Mob offered Reg some work, but only if he sacked Ron, who they knew was a nutter.
Obviously Reg refused.
Kinda hard considering oceans separate the mafia from the krays.
@@MrIlleismdidn’t stop them from getting to America from Italy
@@FTT2002The mafia helping the US Army take Sicily might have had something to do with that.
Jeremy Clarksons still a jew hating prick, ironic really.
I’m Canadian but I watch all things British as my father was a Brit. I can recognize this voice anywhere, David Starkey, am I right? Love your work and mind, Sir. Thanks for this. I just wish you used more real photos of the twins and their associates. Please do one on Reggie’s wife Francis, her story is so sad. I read 2 books on her and I’m just fascinated with this family. Ronnie was a complete nightmare. Just found this channel which I’m excited about as I’ve browsed through and I can’t wait to dig into this content. I love history, it’s so important. Please do one on that dope Harry Windsor, I’ve seen some of your thoughts on him and I agree 100%.
Absolutely excellent episode ❤
It's pretty sad and pathetic when you see young people idolising people who committed disgustingly evil crimes like the krays. Wannabe gangsters are always weaklings inside, that's why they wannabe a gangster at the expense of innocent victims......
I agree the idol worship of these two boggles the mind. They killed people, stole from people and tore families apart. What makes them worthy of celebrating?
Excellent documentary! I was a child when the Krays met their end and, at the time, they seemed just a couple of gangsters who had come to the end of the road. Obviously the reality was completely different: they were a serious danger to many people. I think the evidence overall was that they were great manipulators, even down to "charity" fund raising, benefitting greatly from this and , when in prison they were treated differently and profited from books and interviews, which they never should have done.
Very Informative, Bravo !
“Give Ron your f-king sausage!”
😂😂 so good!

" Ronnie Kray do you know my face? Oh don't say you don't please say you do...oh oh, I am the last of the famous international playboys..." - Moz
Really enjoyed that Tom Hardy flick about the Krays
The Hardy flick is utterly crap; it's saving grace is Hardy's performances.
I've seen several documentaries about the Krays and this is the only one that mentions their gypsy/Roma heritage. I never knew they were and always assumed they were just your average English people.
Roma alway criminals
What is the average English?
@@nigecheshire9854 White Anglo Saxon I guess.
@@TheBreechie in all the ones I've seen they didn't say much about their family background and whatnot aside from talking about their grandpa. Of course England is a place where many types of people have conquered and settled over the centuries, not to mention all the people that have moved there from elsewhere. So I suppose their heritage isn't out of the ordinary
charlie chaplin also...not that they mention that...elvis presely...among others..
“It took a lot of love for me to hate him the way I do” Francis shea
I love the Narrator because he sounds so absolutely Proper as if a Butler recalling their ‘adventures’. I think I’ve seen 3 Gangster movies since 1980. “The Krays” with the guys from Spandau Ballet ,a 2020 low budget ‘Gangsta’ movie about black youth gangs feat. ex celebrity villain Dave Courtney called “The Takeover” & “It’s All Going Off “ about Liverpool Drug dealing villains from around 2000. All were hugely entertaining. Thankyou for this study of the Kray Twins & Co. 😁👍
Is the Krays the movie that Tom Hardy made when he played twins?
Yes
Keep up the amazing work guys! Your documentaries are always too notch! Please consider doing franz Joseph!😊😊😊😊
Yes! I find Franz Joseph fascinating...I think he would have been much happier in literally any other "career", which is the exact opposite of who you want ruling an Empire on the brink of collapse. I am a certified historian who focused on the collapse of the Habsburgs and the lead up to WW1, so I would LOVE to see Franz Joseph.
Superb as always! Would you consider making one for Charles Bronson, or must one be deceased to qualify for a feature video?
The one from Chile or Luton.
@@briancohenthepfjmassive.4769I hope he means the Charlie Bronson that's been held unfairly by the injustice system.
I used to work with an ex prison officer who was in service in the same prison Bronson was being held.
He told me Charlie was an okay sort of bloke until he wasn't.😂
Free Charles Arthur Salvador.
He's an old man and is, therefore, no longer a threat to society.
Love it thank you
I cannot fathom why thousands of people had so much sympathy for two arch criminals that they attended their funerals !
A lot of people felt protected and were helped by big gangsters, especially in their home towns. Respect amongst enemies is more profound then you would think. After Escobar died, Netflix couldn’t film within 20 miles of his hometown, people still speak highly of him and refused to let them taint his legacy, when you have nothing and a few give you something, regardless of where it came from is a big deal.
that`s because people are idiots violent by nature and can`t think for themselves
Like the nauseating spectacle of people queuing to see the Queen's coffin? How could anyone show a monarch respect? It was shameful for the country that the world witnessed the nation crawling past the head of state's coffin!
That was the East End. A lot of poverty for generations and distrust of the coppers.
@@grrr.9998 well said.
Something I remeber being told about the twins was they did a lot of bad things but they was good to their mum.
Mentioning cable street, my grandad brother was there, I believe him when he said the opponents of Moseley weren't locals, he never heard a cockney accent, they were Northerners, Welsh Miners and Jewish Socialist/Communists. All bussed in. He also said that Moseley refused to march so the Left attacked the police. No surprise there.
Legand is a fantastic movie!
Morning...would you perhaps have a doccy video about Lady Thatcher? Thanks

You should make a video about McCarthy and Mccarthyism
Keep up the good work!
The Richardson gang weren't known as "the torture gang" before the press coverage of their trial. Every one in London referred to their gang or crowd as "the firm" some people might have seen the Krays as THE firm
I loved growing up in Shoreditch , Hoxton market was my playground I went to St Monica's primary school happy days.
Having watched many doco's on the Kray twins , including the movie "Legend" it seem they were a creation of their own environment, and did what it took to protect themselves from day one, and their business ,through out their lives, as unorthodox as it may seem ,and the Richardson's gang were no better, but along with the murder of George Cornell an Jack Mc Vitie which was so public ultimately led to their down fall... along with members of "the firm" testifying against them to save themselves while all the time enjoying the fame and fortune that the Krays generated, and the numerous marriages that Ronnie had while in prison , was again others trying to cash in on their fame .
Truth is far stranger than fiction.
Gréât documentaire 👌
It was a rolled up mattress tied not an actual boxing punch bag
I have never heard of this unbelievably horrendous crime, l'm beyond shocked. Those creatures should never be allowed out. My thoughts are with the Family of this innocent beautiful Boy 🕊
Would you do video on the Richardson brothers ?
Don't forget the Piranah Brothers, Doug and Dinsdale!
I think they were fantastic...luv bad boys❤
I find it hard to believe the knocked erveryone they punched as youngsters unconscious, it sounds very unlikely whether they were boxers or not, some of this information obviously comes from fans of theirs
Fascinating.
Thumbs up Big like 👍 👌
Thank you - I realise that they were criminals but I have a certain respect for them. I worked in the City with an eastender who spoke in a hushed voice about them but she was certainly a fan as she said that the protected the people against (other) criminals. It’s quite a sad story all told
I don't hate the Krays, I did not always agree with what they did, I don't know what it is about them, but I don't hate them, I only wish they sorted out my EX, boyfriend for me, Because I hate him, he did a lot of really bad things to me, so in a way I suppose I wished I met them. I will say this, I always had a soft spot for Redgie. ❤❤
Love this channel. And the narration is impeccable, if not a little quaint! "A derogatory term for a homosexual gentleman " (Wasn't it actually " A fat poof")?!
AKA "The Piranha Brothers", the classic sketch on Monty Python's Flying Circus.

I wonder if the Kray brothers were the Piranha brothers on Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Of course they were!
Just done a video on Ronnie 😅😊
if they were about today there wouldnt be so much crime in London today
Now that's kray kray
They were hard buggers who, by chance, became successful in their endeavors.
My God. try increasing the dose.😊
Extremely well done.
My only criticism is that you invited comment on whether they mostly good mostly bad. They were bad.
I loke theses guy's. Stand up gentlemen.
Interesting
The Kray brothers, in my eye's were cool as cat's and I admire them
The krays twins are legends and should of been released from prison when they did their time. R.I.P. krays
Deeply missed in the east end.
"Dinsdale??"
Sounds a lot like the Piranha brothers. Doug and Dinsdale were inspired by this pair.

They were often called Ronnie and Reggie well I should hope so that was their name😂

The thumbnail looks like Robert Deniro
Oh right, all skipping over the horse are we? Poor thing!
Rip krays Declan ❤ love ❤ Trev Dec singer songwriter xx respect Declan ❤
This biography closely mirrors that on The Piranha Twins... DINSDALE!
Imo they were bullies. My mum, who knew their Auntie, used to say they only hurt gangsters like themselves and looked up to them being 4 years younger. I still live in the area and most people around here now don't even know about them.
Just a couple of bullies
No actual pictures?
Nice documentary.but the closeups are ridiculous
They only ruled east London the Richardson ruled south London
The Krays were so powerful in their prime that they would tell the judges which defendants to convict and they would tell tabloid editors which stories they were allowed to put on the front page. On one occasion they told John Lennon to write a song called 'Paperback Writer' because Ronnie fancied himself as a novelist. 'Hey Jude' was written for Ronnie and Reggie's mum as a birthday present from Ringo Starr.
The Krays also fixed the scoreline for the World Cup Final in 1966 which is why England scored 2 goals in the last minute of the game.
The Krays even ordered President John F. Kennedy to visit the UK in June 1961 and he did as he was told.
The only reason the establishment turned on The Krays is because Prince Phillip and Prince Charles wanted a foursome, but Ronnie and Reggie turned them down because while Phillip had a massive wanger, Charles is hung like a grain of rice.
If Charles wasn't hung like a hamsters tongue, then history would have been very different.
Muppet.
@@neilreading3552 You wouldn't say that to The Krays faces if they were alive. You wouldn't dare.
Who screwed your head up with the idea that an American president gave a damn about what the Krays thought? What a joke. They had no pull in America as Cosa Nostra would have put them 6 ft under. And Cosa Nostra is responsible for Kennedy getting in as president. You do realize that you are going to be putting this information in front of adults right? I mean I understand that most people on UA-cam are uneducated clowns but seriously?
The Krays were vicious animals, who could've just as well been referred to as the Crazy's.
