A good artist will always have knowledge of different kinds of music. Every genre has its good music. Be yourself Sped. I appreciate your honesty. Cool video. Once the lead guitar came in (at about 13:38) it felt like a whole new level of magic. Maybe the combination of the two passions, guitar and cinematic music, really coming together, igniting each other and taking your music into that new place, that place you've been longing to go to. Very cool milestone!
Dude I fucking love you man. Your perspective here is spot on. You are on the right track I know it. Continue being creative and sharing your works. The internet is what’s to blame for us being so self critical of our art. It wasn’t the same pre internet. Back then people had no idea what potential talent there was, they just made the music they felt and we all loved it.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate you! I have caught myself saying to Gab on a regular basis "I don't remember ever being this concerned with music before" and stuff like "when did I become so worried about what people have to say." It's wild that you said Mike Oldfield because that exactly what I was thinking and I haven't thought about him in years. I am amazed and inspired. That solo was somewhere between Carlos Rios and Steve Lukather, kind of like Sped Spedding, just awesome... good on ya mate, well done!
Thank you so much! You’re mixing me in with some giants there. 🥹 And yeah I actually meant Oldfield more in the sense that I was announcing the instruments as they were coming in. 😂 But it is reminiscent of his work anyway. He does spooky building textures well.

Best video you've posted.. hands down.. obviously (as you know) i'm a huge Oldfield fan because i like singular instrumental pieces of music.. really excited to watch and listen to this (added to my spotify).. transition at 12:35 really connected, loved the change - violin, flutes and haunting vocal.. can't tell you how much i loved this, genuinely..
Thanks so much Mike! So glad you like it, the response has been incredible. Very supportive. 🥹 I did think of you when I was editing it and I’d mentioned Oldfield, haha! Yes that change just breaks it up. It pulls you out of the intensity that built and then slaps you right back in with it cranked up a little higher to play us out.
I absolutely love your track Sped, it definitely took me on a musical journey. Outstanding job! I completed my first film music track several months back. When I first started to write the music, I had no idea it would move in this direction. I started with a bass line and used the Bandmate feature in Superior Drummer 3, which detects what you played and suggests a suitable beat. That was the bass and drums completed. Next up, I got my old MIDI keyboard out the cupboard and used the Nexus 3 Hollywood bundle to provide some triumphant orchestral arrangements. Lastly, I added the guitars. I mainly play rock and metal style guitar, so it would have been rude not to add a raging guitar solo in the middle which appears unsurprisingly rather unexpectedly. This is my first attempt at venturing outside my comfort zone and I have to say I really enjoyed the experience. I will definitely attempt another similar arrangement soon. For me this is what the journey of writing music is all about. The excitement of not knowing where the initial few notes will take you. Keep on Rockin!
It sounds like we had very similar experiences! 😂 Love that. The solo was the last thing I added in. Initially I thought make it more about the orchestration and leave it be but I’m glad I went with it. A nod to the 80s. When I first started with that opening cello line o had no idea where it would end up, happy with it though. And the feedback has been incredible.

One of the most useful things any aspiring guitarist who wants to understand scales, chord structure, intervals etc. can do is buy a cheap keyboard. Even if you have no plans to play the instrument seriously, having all the notes laid out in an easy to use, one button per note, straight line is a great help with learning the theory which you can then transfer to the more confusing layout of a guitar fretboard.
I love it, great job! As a guitarist and composer myself I have forsaken my writing by NOT including myself playing and recording a guitar part in the tracks I create. I think your track is the nudge for me to begin including live guitar in some of my tracks! Thanks for sharing and best to you! BTW - I love your humor.

I also, in general, don't support subscription models. I've seen rebellions on BBSs when a certain company tried it arbitrarily recently. But the stuff is fun to play with.
I believe you can actually buy all their sounds on a standalone drive. Same with Superior Drummer. Payment plans get some stick online but the way I see it: it’s also a good thing as it means people (like me) can try the very best without spending a fortune and it means companies have that continual income to better the products and create new packs. Swings and roundabouts right? 🙏🏻 I’m fortunate with external storage as I go through a 10tb LaCie each year with UA-cam. 😂

Saddens me that this has such low views. I may have missed it but how does the interface work? Does it read guitar and transform it into those sounds/tracks? Love your channel. The algorithm has reminded me to watch again. It's not all bad I suppose. The AI.

@@SpedSpeddingI used to work under the table for this guy in high school on stuff but I mostly do it for enjoyment now. That’s what my UA-cam has been for the past 5 years. Building a portfolio for a wrestling company like AEW, WWE, Impact or a local promotion to see what I bring to the table as a producer, graphic designer, writer, commentator etc any skills that I may be able to utilize within a wrestling company to make them better as a whole cause I would love to be on wrestling television one day or performing in some type of way within that industry locally and working my way to something bigger.
Saddens me that this has such low views. I may have missed it but how does the interface work? Does it read guitar and transform it into those sounds/tracks? Love your channel. The algorithm has reminded me to watch again. It's not all bad I suppose. The AI.
Thank you! Hopefully it catches on. It’s important that I try new things on the channel.
It doesn’t do that. I used my midi keyboard to play all of the parts in. Glad the AI put me in your path again!
Ah, I see. Yes it is good. It's a great channel man. Keep it up.@@SpedSpedding
Apologies if i've missed this in the commentary but where did the artwork come from?
I made it myself on photoshop. I wanted something reflective of the title so I created a silhouette of some kind of mythical demon. 😂 If you look closely there’s some devilish hands clawing their way out of a pit at the front. I’ll share the full res on patreon.
Poundland ? More like M&S
An excellent overture son
Mark my words , you'll garner attention with that piece ,wanted or not.
🤩 I’ll take an M&S comparison any day. Haha! Thank you, and here’s to hoping. It’s out there for all ears now, the seeds are sown so to speak. 🌱
Reminds me of Yakuza boss fight music
What’s that?
@@SpedSpedding it's a video game series just UA-cam Yakuza

Please please say you aren't jumping the shark!
I have no idea what this means.
Here's looking at you kid
👀 looking right back!
confronting fear is the destiny of a jedi.... your destiny. Sorry to quote from one of the worst star wars films, but its a good lesson. You had nothing to be afraid of, indeed continue to be proud of your compositions. I wish I had the impetus (and time, and equipment etc etc) to try something like that.
Aw thanks mate, really appreciate that. Hope you're doing well? And you know what, any Star Wars quote is fine by me, as we know I adore the franchise. Time is probably the most important thing I mentioned here, I'm sure if we could clear out weeks of the year where we knew all financials were taken care of and it wasn't our only holiday away from work responsibilities we'd all be capable. Remember the start of covid when everyone just started backing bread? 😂 It's time to start cookin' up some symphonies.
@@SpedSpedding start of covid we had a kid haha but fair point I did start learning how to make neopolitan pizza... do(ug)h!
Jazz is just mistakes
not sure what i like more...the song or your shit jokes!! phenomenal...keep it up and keep the subscription!!
The world biggest unsolved mystery. 😂 Thank you o will!
Nice Sped, nice...
Thanks for watching!
