Some notes you may want to consider when using this: [Grass and glass wall] Wool landing on the same block as the fence can put it out of range of the hopperhocks. It's better to use a grass/dirt block with glass on top of it in the places where he put a fence. This will stop sheep from getting stuck in the fences, still allows the grass to spread to diagonally adjacent dirt blocks, and prevents sheared wool from falling onto the blocks that the fences would be on. [Removing the need to separate sheep] If you don't want to separate your sheep, remove all blocks directly above the drum of the gathering and place a dirt/grass block above the drum. This one block area will be where all wool will be absorbed by the hopperhocks underneath the dispensers. Place an open crate exactly 12 blocks above the drum and attach a hopperhock next to it (be sure to give it some mana). This will let the hopperhock pick up sheared wool on the levels where the sheep are, but won't pick up the wool it already dropped into the hole. If you have more than one sheep farm floor, place a [grass and glass] wall on the four blocks around the hole to keep sheep from falling in. Because your hopperhock is one block off-center from the drum of the gathering, your sheep farm area (excluding the wall) will be 21x20 blocks centered on the drum, shorter on the side opposite of the hopperhock. In other words, it will be the area where the hopperhock's range intersects with the drum's range.
You have no idea how excited i got when my phone notified me of a video and i saw it was one of yours thank riskable my craving is sated for a little longer lol
Amazing, absolutely perfect. You're a certified genius. I couldn't think of any possible way to do this but the use of all the augments and lenses is just fantastic.
Well, I set everything up correctly. Made a couple minor changes to fix timing issues. Everything works exactly the way its supposed to. Aaaaaaaand the sheep won't eat to regrow their wool. Lovely.
I made a smaller mana genrator. It fills a manapool in 1 minute and 15 seconds. And takes about 8 gaia spreaders WITH potency lenses to actually push it all though. The full size is 5 blocks wide, 3 blocks thick and 7 blocks high. However, its semi-automatic. Which is a problem for most, honestly I like when my stuff is semi-auto it makes me feel useful. But that's me. Though, this is the single best mana generator I've found so far on youtube. Good job.
Great to see another video, I always love your videos! Don't worry about the slow upload, I think we'd all agree quality is so much more important than quantity, and it's (Unfortunately) clear you're not quite popular enough for using UA-cam as a career. Hopefully someday... One minor thing I would suggest, give the Daffomill a dominant diluted mana pool, just in case the pool you have it bound to gives away all its mana, and the setup stops functioning.
+minecraft15555 I was concerned about that with the Daffomill as well but after running this setup for a while it doesn't make a difference. As long as the farm isn't shut off for a *really* long time (real life days worth of the chunk being loaded) I don't think the Daffomill will ever run out of mana. It uses up so little... Even a smidge of it's mana bar is all it takes for it to do its thing and it uses such a tiny amount of mana so as to be nearly imperceptible.
Sorry but that series is over... They reset the server! I mean, I might be able to squeeze another episode out of the remaining footage but it probably isn't worth it. Not many people watch my Let's Play series and they take *so much time* to make. Maybe I can be convinced to start a new one with a new world if there's enough interest. I dunno. I *did* want to make a full series like "Story Time with Riskable" but I'm not sure how I should go about it.
+riskable I think you should start a single player world and start a series. your videos on botania are the most detailed ones n your edits are pro like! I have only respect for your sincerity towards your work. don't worry about the user base. it'll increase. but I'd like to believe that all the subscribers you have are legit ones. quality over number xD
+riskable from my excpirience speed lens are better in terms of throughput. At least when using normal mana spreaders. (a mana spreader with speed lens facing up into a mana pool is able to keep up with a gourmalis eating toast (pams Harvestcraft) at max capacity. A mana spreader with with potency lens is NOT able to do that.
It needed one tiny improvement for me to work out perfectly... it shot whit and orange wool at the same time because there was no delay but one repeater fixed the issue
I wonder... is that mana spreader and the force relays really necessary? It looks like all they're doing is triggering the redstone, which could easily be done with a simple redstone line (maybe another repeater in case it doesn't quite reach) to ensure it gets triggered in sequence, something a few people in the comments have complained about since it gets stuck.
HELP! I've built this exact thing, and the spectrolus sometimes gets stuck on either orange or cyan wool (coincidentally, the second ones on either row), which as you know slows down the whole process.
From my testing, this is because the first and second repeaters in each row fire simultaneously. This sometimes causes it to eat the second orange/cyan wool before the white/light grey wool, wasting it and causing the system to get stuck on those two colors. The fix is to replace the redstone on top of the first two droppers with 2-tick repeaters. This guarantees that the first two droppers in both rows fire consecutively, rather than simultaneously.
Hope this video still gets comments sometimes. I built this but for some reason the elven mana spreader in front of the prism doesn't fire its pulse at all, even with a dominant mana pool behind it Anyone might know why?
This is a *really* good question. The reason is simple: Hopperhocks take a few seconds before they pick anything up. The wool from farthest dispenser only takes about a second to reach the Spectrolus. So there's not enough time between the dispensing and when the Hopperhocks are ready to pick the wool up.
The Bore lens is just destroying the force relay block.. Ahhh! I don't know what to do. I've put a warp lens on instead but it isn't triggering the pulse!
Needs to be a Bore + Warp lens (aka composite lens). You make one by combining a Bore and Warp lens in a crafting grid with a slimeball. Just make sure it's "Bore Warp" and *not* "Warp Bore". Don't warp boars!
Yeah, my spectrolus isn't picking up any wool and not producing any mana. I can't see daffomill doing anything either. Although Drum and hopperflowers are doing a great job collectiong wool. Where did I go wrong? :( This is my fist time playing minecraft, and maybe it was dumb to pick botania, but please be nice. I could use some help. :(
Ok, so I know that this one is kinda old, but I'm trying to use it. It definitely does generate a lot of mana, but I keep seeing it either skipping colors (randomly), or the elven spreader just can't keep up. Theflower just generates too much mana. Anyone know of a way to add in a delay on the main burst?
Hey, nice build, but I have problem with the bore warp lens, it is breaking blocks all over the place. Everything works fine except for the lens. Any help would be appreciated.
+soraya kausar This build took me *forever* to come up with. Before I came up with this design I actually had a really expensive (but simpler) build that uses Corporea Crystal Cubes (16 of them!) and a slightly more sophisticated array of AND gates. I was going to make a video of that before I came to the realization that I could solve the unreliability problem of the Daffomill blowing wool entities down a channel using Packed Ice. SO much cheaper! Note: The Corporea Crystal Cube version is in my base on the Botania Patreon server.
Hey riskable, this is a very late comment, but would you know if this set up works on 1.12.2? Me and my friend tried this setup, and the redstone wasn't tiggering after putting in the sand at the end in the hourglass to see the full rotation of it
On my setup it all works but for some reason the last dropper in the sequence, your black one, doesn't get triggered to drop it's wool for some reason. Any ideas as to why?
Running Minecraft 1.14? I've had similar issues with Botania and other mods. It has some relation to the duplicated tile entities and dark chunk bugs. Something you can try too: Use a "circle" of mana spreaders instead of just one to trigger the Droppers... So instead of using the warp lens and force relays to teleport the mana burst you just fire a mana spreader into a diluted mana pool at the other end then have a mana spreader fire it to the side into another diluted mana pool then have another mana spreader fire it back towards the beginning (or just have a recessive spark redistribute the mana indirectly). Another method would be to trigger the redstone repeaters via "just redstone". It'll take up a little more space (you'll probably have to run the redstone "wire" around a bit with some repeaters) but it's not complicated... You just need to get the other side of the droppers to kick off its sequence after the first is complete.
@@riskable Hi there i've got a question. I have everything setup right but my first Force Relay keeps getting destroyed as soon as the mana hits it so i couldn't test if it does put the mana on the mana detector after and triggers the second line. My sheeps ool is regroqing everything gets collected by the hopperhooks i just dont know what to do. I hope you can help me. Have a nice Day :) I'm playing FTB Infinity Evolved on the Twitch Launcher with Minecraft 1.7.10 Botania Version is: Botania r1.8-249.jar
I use a lot of your builds on my private server. So helpful to generate TONS of mana while I'm away. One thing though, I've been trying to figure out a way to store all that mana... No clue where to start, help? LOL
Just use sparks. Point your Mana Spreader at a Mana Pool with a Spark that has the Recessive Augment and it'll distribute that mana to all nearby Mana Pools with sparks on them. So you can just make a big pile o' pools and use that to store the mana.
I seem to be having trouble with my hopperhocks in this setup. They refuse to pick up any wool, no matter how close the wool is to it. This forces me to manually place the wool in the droppers, which seems to defeat the point of this system. I'm not sure what the problem is. I tested out the hopperhocks on normal chests and they seem to work just fine. Any help would be appreciated.
I had this happen when I was developing this build. Don't sweat it! It's a bug with Hopperhocks in general and here's the fix: Just put some mana in a nearby pool and re-place the Hopperhocks. Something about having empty mana pools nearby can cause a big collection of Hopperhocks like this to stop working when there's no mana for them to use (to extend their range). It can happen again later if they don't get mana so make sure that you never completely drain your mana pools (if you're experiencing this bug). I think it has something to do with chunk loading. If your farm crosses enough chunks and you come back to it after being away for a while and there's no mana left for the Hopperhocks to use they just get confused and "stuck".
Thank you for the reply. I attempted to place a mana pool nearby with some mana in it, but I still have the same problem. I replaced all the hopperhocks, but they still won't pick up any wool, even if I throw it down right next to them.

Some notes you may want to consider when using this:
[Grass and glass wall] Wool landing on the same block as the fence can put it out of range of the hopperhocks.
