Great video. Probably one of the best ‘how to’ videos I’ve seen on UA-cam. I haven’t done the job yet but everything (and more) that I need to know for the task ahead is covered. Brilliant. Thank you for taking the time to do it.
Thanks for the video, I had tried removing the fascia without much success, but starting from the spot next to the steering wheel really helped. I use some thin flexible metal strips for this kind of work, the the top ones were just too tight and I ended up simply pulling on the whole thing until it snapped out of place. Those clips they use everywhere are a nightmare... wish me luck for the disassembly of the rest.
Great video and explanation 👏🏻👏🏻 I wanted to ask what’s the black circle button that goes in the circle hole which on the frame with 2 screws and do I just stuck it in to fill the whole or it has a certain meaning?
Great video thank you! Is there any diagrams around that show the wiring info for the standard unit? As I want to add a subwoofer but do not know which wires are which.
Kia dealers should be able to print you a diagram from the Autodata manuals that the mechanics use or failing that if your dealer won't help you could ask a car shop if they have an adapter cable that goes from your wiring to a aftermarket radio, that way it's just plug it into your wiring and follow the colours. The vent has four long clips on the rear that hold it in place, the plastic clips can only be accessed by removing the cover panel,I suggest getting a Haynes manual or such like and make sure to take care as they are not very strong.

Hi 👋, do you happen to know if the steering wheel controls can be kept in use when installing a radio? I can’t find an answer to this online. Any help much appreciated, thanks.
Sounds like you will be needing a steering control interface. Example - www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kia-Picanto-2011-On-SONY-Car-Stereo-Radio-Steering-Wheel-Interface-Stalk/181450458540?hash=item2a3f4a45ac:g:CuoAAOSwSlBYrw~-
Hi. The Sony WX-900BT Double Din is a good price & does support most modern file formats used on Android. Also you won't have any bother finding a steering control adapter, price around £120.
my apologies, I've not been clear. Thinking about one of the touchscreen android-based head units available on ebay or aliexpress. Thanks for the inspiration though
Just to be clear the Sony one will work with the steering wheel controls? If you go for a normal Sigle din dab radio will you need the £120 adapter? Thank again for your advice/ information.

Can you tell me what the output specs are of the standard sound system in that Kia Picanto? I am trying to do a small upgrade but I don't know if stronger speakers will help. Do you know what the Watt speaker output is? I am not looking to put in a subwoofer or amp, just looking to improve the sound power and volume. Thanks.
Sure, the original basic radio is 4x8 watts rms. A decent pair of coax speakers would be a nice upgrade from the card cone originals. You would improve the clarity by a fair degree.
I simply needed both hands to start the trim off. The trim on these cars is one of the worst I’ve ever come across, very tight clips and liable to crack.

You should be able to use any double din radio but without the outer trim that comes with them(the black surround bit that unclips).
