Its been a few weeks and rudeus has spent the entire time in his room, starving and only eating when someone gets him
Elinalise is initially asked by geese to sleep with rudeus to help improve his mood, and she declines
Elinalise coaxes Roxy into seducing rudeus
Rudeus pushes Roxy down onto the bed after Roxy keeps insisting, in the anime Roxy took all of the initiative
Elinalise lies to rudeus and tells him Roxy is pregnant to push him to marry her
The giant armadillo they got is named dillo
The only important thing they skipped is Dillo's name. /s

Unacceptable, really unacceptable. The important psychological portrayal, the discussion between Geese and Elinalise was lost, which is too essential for the depth of this plot. Rudy's sadness and his regret for not properly honoring his parents in this life and past lives were not expressed. Elinalise's inner conflict (her love for her granddaughter and her friendship with Roxy) was also not expressed. Now it seems that Roxy is just an opportunistic third wheel, and Elinalise is inexplicably sabotaging her own granddaughter, which is very different from the novel.
it didn’t show the inner conflict Elinalise was having. Geese asked Elinalise to have sex with Rudy because he thought that this 'activity' was how a man got comfort. And Elinalise did that in the past. (She was the one who told Geese that was how a man got comfort.)
However, Elinalise was not into that this time because she didn't want to betray her granddaughter and Cliff.
"After" hearing this, Roxy decided to help Rudy herself. She didn't come up with the idea to have sex with Rudy. Geese did. However, in this version Roxy became the one who immediately thought of having sex with Rudy. Who the fk would instantly think of using vagina to heal a man?
After, Elinalise found out Roxy and Rudy were having sex. She thought a lot and came up with the idea that "I met Roxy first. Then, I reunited with my granddaughter. I love them both so I have to be that guy to suggest Rudy to marry Roxy." However, in this version, Elinalise ran straight to the conclusion that Rudy could fairly love Sylvie and Roxy at the same time because he was Paul's son.
Did the anime show this depth? No, it didn't. Did it show the sadness of Rudy and Roxy's selfish and selfless actions? Yes, it did.
So, it is a 5/10 because it only did half the job. The anime was doing so good in the season but suddenly this come up. It is hard to not feel angry about that.
I strongly suggest that this part must be supplemented by reading the novel.
I was really dissappointed to see Roxy immeadiately in the opening scene. i thought that maybe they would do something different with the anime like giving us a flashback of the bar scene. But no - they never showed any part of it and now anime only are going to miss so much crucial context about what just happened.
Also - it feels here that Rudeus was still pretty messed up even after his night with roxy. From how I understood it while reading, it felt like Rudeus was really revitalized by what roxy has done and he was determined to be there for his family after his talk with lillia. here he just felt really sad still and i can't really put my finger on why it feels this way.
Just the bar scene man - not only does it give context to Elinalise's and the rest of the party members' thoughts but it (for me) highlights Roxy's determination to save Rudeus - as well as why she thinks he needs it (which he does). They also cut out Rudy telling Roxy about his past life (although saying it was someone he knows) which felt very important as well because this was one of the only times Rudeus opened up about his past.
One small thing as well was Rudeus was super violent with roxy during their sex scene because it was his way of venting out anger and frustation - so Roxy taking that all was also a part of her determination to save rudeus.
Overall, what I hate about this episode is how it left out most of Roxy's determination to save Rudeus (thinking about ways on how to help him)
- from talking to Elinalise to have sex with Rudeus,
- to contemplating doing it herself,
- to going through with it EVEN WHILE being just told that Rudeus was married (which was a pretty funny scene since she was embarrassed about all the things she did in the labyrinth not knowing Rudy was already taken and then drinking more beer because of it)

Actually it makes more sense in the anime than LN. It's more likely that Roxy would take the initiative given the situation. Besides Roxy was very unexperienced in those matters.
@@elgranfreezer9117it’s true that Roxy is unnexperience in those matters but that’s why in the NL it shows Roxy resolution to help Rudeus even knowing that her first time wouldn’t be a nice memory. Because Roxy accepted everything from Rudeus and he vent out all his anger and frustration on Roxy. The same Rudeus said later on that he was really harassh with her, he even hurt her a couple times but Roxy accepted it.
It changes from Rudy releasing his grief on Roxy to Roxy harassing Rudy (well not harassing but confroting him with her vagina).
Now, Roxy seems like a total bitch rather than a self-sacrifice girl and I hate it because I like (or at least I liked) Roxy.
The chapter is already over, but I don't know if anyone noticed what Paul said to Rudeus in the labyrinth: " Listen Rudy, I use two swords now. Before, one was enough for me, but now I don't feel comfortable without both. I appreciate each of them and both of them fulfill a purpose. Someday you will understand ". I think he was referring to just this, having more than 1 wife and I am even more sure to confirm it since before telling him Paul looked at Roxy and then told him that it was not the time to tell him "that " since it would sink their morale 😂😂
When people realize MT is not usual fantasy anime, it's a family drama in fantasy world.

It was a good episode, it really shows the true feelings of Roxy towards Rudeus. The Light Novel is great, but this time anime got it better in the sense that it is what really would've happened.
There's a true feeling of love instead of 3rd party ideas or so much external intervention to take Roxy as second wife.

I don't know what was going through Bind's head in this episode.
- Rush was depressed, they didn't even mention that Rudeus spent weeks depressed without eating.
- They skipped the whole interaction between Elinalise, Geese, Talhand and Roxy and how Elinalise "gave her the idea" and also how Elinalise still hesitated to let Roxy know that Rudeus was married.
- In one fell swoop we enter "THAT MOMENT"
-When Elinalize was trying to convince Rudeus, they skipped the moment where he flatly refused to accept Roxy and she tricked him by telling him that Roxy was pregnant.
Yeah they went too fast, and skipped the reasons to accept the very purpose of the episode. I don't think most of the people will buy the explanations given during these 21 minutes
No, actually the anime is better this time because it shows something that Roxy would really want, not an idea of third party.
Besides not lying about pregnancy was good, so it doesn't look like an "obligation" and it is shown as a true desire for having Roxy as wife.
Obviously there's gonna be a lot of skipped content, every episode would need to last 2 hours to include every interaction, dialogue and action of the LN.

Don't know how to feel about this episode as i haven't move on yet with Paul's death. Glad everything turned out fine between roxy and rudy but it's not over until they get home. I was wondering how his sisters will feel about their fathers death. Damn it's still depressing. I really grown attached to Paul this season that i really hope there's a plot twist to revive him somehow

A lot of cut content on this episode, really messes up the characterizations, most important ones are these two imo:
-They skipped Roxy learning about Rudy being married. In the same conversation Geese was trying to convince Elinalize to seduce Rudeus so he gets over his depression, this is where Roxy decided to "visit" rudy in his room. Rudy also was a lot more depressed than what was shown in the anime, he stayed in his room for days without doing anything. He compares it to when he was depressed over Eris leaving, he was literally on the brink.
-They skipped Elinalise lying to Rudeus about Roxy being pregnant in order to convince him to take Roxy as his second wife. Rudy knew he fucked up big time and was trying to do his best to do better, without Elinalise lying he'd have stayed away from Roxy. Elinalise was a friend of Roxy's before she met with her granddaugher Sylphie so she was unhappy seeing Roxy so depressed so she lied, she knew Rudy would take responsibility if there was a child involved.
There was a lot more but for such a controvertial episode knowing these makes a difference in my opinion.
It was for the best they skipped those parts. The LN is great and all, but honestly those details aren't that necessary considering the personality of the characters.
Roxy would have done that for herself, which is shown in the anime. Makes more sense that Roxy takes the initiative given the situation and how depressed Rudeus was.
Not lying about any pregnancy is better because shows a more genuine feeling of Rudeus really loving Roxy than just a mere marriage for obligation.

I don't know what they are mad about, it's pretty normal they cut parts when they're doing an anime adaptation. I have not known a single anime where everything is included as shown in the LN. Doing so would make every episode practically a movie, at least 2 hours to show everything.
for real man, I was an anime only till a few days ago and it was what I expected, this show is not as normal as the thousands of Isekai that are the same thing with different titles...
They left out some things, but I think the blame is better delivered in this adaptation.

We got rid of the bar scene where the group slyly convinces Roxy to sleep with Rudy, and we got rid of Rudy telling Roxy the story of the reincarnated man and her realizing it's Rudy's story.
They cut a lot of context from the LN, so the scene seems kinda out of place...
But oh well, it is what it is.
