Rotary sprinklers waste water, a soaker hose would help to conserve even more.

Totally agree about rotary sprinklers. We use only drip irrigation for all our foodscaped areas. One of our main tips in the video was to switch from sprinklers to drip. I’m not sure how soaker hoses compare (probably pretty close), but drip is 95% to 99% efficient.

How do you keep your Creeping thyme clean? Mine filled up with sticks and leaves and I was afraid I couldn't clean it out without hurting the plant.

I think you could pull it out by hand being a bit careful without too much trouble. We don't have sticks and leaves in ours but we do hand weed weeds that are right in with the thyme. Even if you do a little damage, it should recover and refill in fairly easily.
