To play as Master Hand in the Adventure mode all you need to do is defeat Galeem in the first instance, then Dharkon right after in the Dark Realm, fight the way through the Final Battle world and defeat all versions of Master and Crazy Hand, approach them between Galeem and Dharkon and you'll be able to play as Master Hand in a stamina version of him while you fight copies of every Smash Fighter. After that the only way to do it again is to replay the entire adventure mode up to that instance.

Fun Fact: Master Hand is canonically the announcer in Smash Bros. This is the reason why the announcer laughs when the Master Hand boss fight begins and the probable reason on why he isn't playable regularly (excluding World of Light).

I know you've been able to mod bosses in for a while now but making them unlockable is a thing now? Weren't custom fighters tied to existing ones unlock conditions? Such as Sandbag being linked to Dr.Mario and unlocking as he did. Did you just replace an existing fighters unlock or is this entirely custom and possible?

It's a very tedious process and isn't really practical, but it's 100% unique to the modded character and it works!
