- In this video I take you through repairing your Ryobi bench top sander. If your bench top sander is making a loud noise when its turned on, it could be that the bearings need to be replaced. This video shows you step by step how to replace the bearing, what tools I used and where I purchased the bearings.
(I receive a small commission from Amazon to help make videos for my channel if you use the links I provide)
Here is a link to the bearing puller I used to pull off the bearing.

If you want a less expensive but better quality sander here's a link to the Wen bench top sander. I own both and I think the Wen is a superiors sander for less money. It even has more and better reviews on amazon. 4.6 stars at the time of this video.

I love repair videos. This is the type of repair I’d try too.
it really wasn't hard at all.
Thank you for posting this I have the same issue on my machine and my hubby couldn't figure how to get it off either
No problem. It worked good for a few months like this and then the barring in the motor started getting really loud. I haven’t figured out how to replace that one yet. I’m sure it’s much more complicated.
Can’t wait for the other one to be fixed.
It got loud again. I think it may be the motor bearings now. I have looked into fixing it and its more complicated but not imposable. I just haven't decided to get a higher end one or just keep fixing these. I use them a lot for hours so it might be worth it for me to upgrade.
Mine is a harbor freight one. Same design principles as the Ryobi. Busted bearing. Ran it into the ground making spoons and rounding bowl edges.
Yea they seem to all be the same. My motor baring is starting to go now. I dont know what would be better, to just keep buying the cheaper brands and replace it every few years or buy an expensive different type and hope it last a long time.
Great video. I have one of these and it's good to know I can do this if I need to in the future. :)
Thank you, I think if I get one again ill get the protection plan because I know with as much as I use them they only las a year.
Heat expands metal which is what you want
thanks
