- In this video I will show you how to sublimate 100% cotton t-shirts. Sublimation printing can only be done on polyester material. This is the exception. I will also show a couple of alternate ways of doing this which you should avoid.

Its does work on dark shirts you just have to use sublimation sheets for dark clothing

the ink is one with the shirt after sublimation so i would think it could withstand numerus washes and still be fine
@@Santanapain sublimation sticks to polyester fibers but not well to cotton fibers, that's why sublimation printing is recommended to do on shirts of at least 40% poly blends.
@@ChPuppets although polyester is preferred to get a more vivid print you can sublimate on cotton as well the only difference is that it will be less vivid (that’s why we put silicone spray; to make the colors pop a lil bit more) but even at that the transfer is still one with the shirt as you heard in the video. The print is essentially dyed into the fabric you get what I’m saying? so I can imagine it can be washed how ever many times as you want and still be ok.
@@ChPuppets some people just don’t want to sublimate on poly, and feel 100% cotton is more higher quality or cotton shirts is all they have, ya feel me

Hey guys, does anyone know if this polyester spray can cause rashes or any alergic reactions in childrens? I am thinking of sublimating some kids clothes and I wanna use 100 % cotton, to avoid any alergic reactions. Thank you in advance for your answers
People can be allergic to ANYTHING! It’s crazy. I’m sure just using a warning and ‘ or sharing the ingredients on the spray prior to selling, but I don’t see it being a problem, as you should wash the shirts after making 24 hours after making them, before selling them.

This is perfect short and answered all my questions
I tried everything in the video (multiple times) and the shirts looked great...for all of 3-5 days. Image faded on the shirts I didn't even wear. And the 2 I tested in the wash, faded about 85-90% after just 1 wash. Any suggestions 🤔
Try washing the shirts inside out and on delicate
@@scrubasurous9929 I did that and it didn't make a difference. And that doesn't help or explain the fading of the unworn shirts. I did find some transfer paper that works pretty good on cotton. Sublimation still fades, just at a slower rate. I'm going to try it out in my ink jet printer and see how it works. The reviews says, it's good for transferring images from a ink jet printer. PPD: Photo Paper Direct.
Shirts gotta be 100% polyester.
The polyester shirts going to cost you 6 to 7 dollars a piece if you gonna use the spray or mix like him only do it on 50/50 shirts or shirts that are 70 /30 7/30 will give u vintage look with out the spray
If u use 100% polyester no need for the spray also
Is the Pippen image copyrighted? If so how do you avoid copyright claims? Also what is a good way to find images that aren’t copyrighted?
Any image you find on Google, Pinterest, Tumbler, etc are all protected by copyright law, unless specified (even if you edit it on photoshop). If you wanna go that route, best to stick with word of mouth for your t-shirt business. I suggest coming up with your own designs especially if you want to sell online. Otherwise there’s a chance you might get sued 😬
Go on Google images and then select the option that says Usage Rights then select Commercial & other licenses

Did it work as advertised? Any fade from washing?
TIP: If you’re printing on 100% cotton fabric with any inkjet printer you need to use JetPro inkjet transfer paper instead of ASUB, regardless of the dye sublimation ink modification. The spray is not effective and the quality after wash is horrible.
Cotton needs a polymer transfer paper in order for the ink to properly adhere to the fibers, the spray does not provide enough of a polymer coating. Hope this helps!

yes but you need paper for dark colored
No sublimation inks are translucent. You need to print on a white polyester substrate and apply it to the dark garment.

Fantastic tutorial. Only thing worth mentioning is that shirt cost under $ to make but you have to ship the item and order 200+ shirts at a time to get shirts under $2. That’s my experience. Still the best tutorial out there
