And when you have a teammate in front of you who is crouching down with a shield, you can't get too close to him or your gun will go up, which is a point I don't understand
Honestly my problem isn't the wallbanging, it's that the AI doesn't process objects and hence can just see you right through and headshot you through. It'd be far more immersive and actually good design if say, crossed a threshold, had a brief shootout, and retreated behind a wall, and the AI takes a guess and starts blasting rounds at the wall closest to the threshold. Wait SWAT 4 did that and that game didn't even have wallbanging. Great job Void. Truly the tacticool experience we've anticipated.

It is realistc with the right mods. I'm not defending the devs when i say that, btw. But i prefer having a quality game to enjoy than waiting for them to put their act together, which has become abundantly clear, by now, they'll never do.

Yeah same issues since EA still present in 1.0 which kills any mood to play the game but this is funnily one of the less egregious terminator AI moments you could have. The worst is when they wall bang you two rooms away in perfection or you get dropped in a nano second as soon as a pixel is in their field of vision.
this WAS in early access and was much worse, the AI wouldn't even trigger the trap after walking through one leading to players sometimes getting baited into trapped rooms and getting blown up, it got patched, thus AI won't pass through doors that were booby trapped. And now it seemed to return with the 1.0 release

It makes fights more dynamic, as you have to be aware of everybody you dropped and cuff them asap. what I don’t like is the fact every suspect is ex SOF for whatever reason. Sure the vets and the disciplined security sure, they can be a bit cracked and still make sense. But they claim to be going for realism, yet there is no possible way to talk a suspect down, and Im pretty sure real SWAT would prefer no shots fired. Yell at them and they go “No way no how.” “I am not giving up!” and now they know where you are and their reaction speed gets even quicker. Then you have less lethal, the rewarded playstyle, firstly glass can’t be broken with any LL. I would imagine a beanbag slug would be quite capable of doing that to normal residential windows. The suspects also often just shrug it off like nothing, they have a 5 second seizure while you and your team tell them to drop the weapon, then “This is how we do it in the army!” now you’re dead for using the incentivized play style.

If they suspect that IEDs are planted inside a building, they aren't going to be sending people inside until they've properly checked everything. This is what I'm saying, everyone keeps coping that the game is just difficult and "realistic", but the A.I. is just fucked, obviously you can play around that, but it's just not interesting, it doesn't present any meaningful challenge and doesn't act in any way that is "realistic". I died 37364889 times before completing this mission. When i finally did complete it the first time, i didn't immediately press Y to end it. Instead, I opened another door and got blown up by a door trap!!! Then, I died 93936748 more times before i could complete it again.
AI bot shot me through glass in Port Hokan with 10mm mp5 and nearly killed me. When i fired whole mag back i realized my 5.56 ap rounds didnt even penetrated same glass he was in front of or hurt him.........
If the bad guys had these skills IRL we would be seeing alot more officer down body cam videos the devs need to pay attention to IRL scumbags that dont have these skills they mag dump in the general direction with their glocks lol.
This is why the game isn't cop simulator it isn't even swat simulator tbf... Swat faces a lot of unskilled suspects and that's why they have very little casualties in missions... This game has suspects that are terrorists trained and laser you through small holes in a steel sheet from 3 blocks away... So yeah they are not realistic but I won't be honest if I said I didn't have fun playing the game with my friend... sure the AI is realistic is a fucking cope and it's not just because suspects simply refuse to surrender in most cases and are more trigger happy than surrendering... Maybe you survived because of a bug or something. But after the trap triggered, I clearly remember the pop-up at the bottom of the screen (civilian killed). The civilian in the toilet to the left of the door was killed, and the grenade trap explosion could not be stopped by the wall... It was like SWAT opened the door and the trap behind the door triggered, and despite being behind the wall, SWAT was dead... If you say so, the grenade traps in this game will be meaningless
Both times I ran through open doorways on low ready without stopping, it might've been that i was just quick enough to run out of the damage zone. Though I remember one situation where I'd opened a door, triggered the trap, took only a step back or two upon hearing the click sound and survived, just that i was badly bleeding. @@abrony-cafe
probably the way the trap is programmed it goes off when any npc walks through it, and they "fixed" the enemies killing themselves on their own traps constantly in testing by just making them immune to the explosion

This is what it feels like to be a delta guy in FEAR 1 fighting the replicas.

Of course with the general rule of numbers going out the window with swat sending only 5 members to deal with trained terrorists that are sometimes 17-19 in number wearing full body armor and sporting everything from a TEC9 to an AR with good aim.
For me it's personally bearable and enjoy the game but it has it's moments when they wallbang you from 3 blocs away like the postal service map..
I did survive 2 door traps in a single mission once. Like the bot here it was by being on the other side of the wall
Maybe you survived because of a bug or something. But after the trap triggered, I clearly remember the pop-up at the bottom of the screen (civilian killed). The civilian in the toilet to the left of the door was killed, and the grenade trap explosion could not be stopped by the wall...
It was like SWAT opened the door and the trap behind the door triggered, and despite being behind the wall, SWAT was dead...
If you say so, the grenade traps in this game will be meaningless
Both times I ran through open doorways on low ready without stopping, it might've been that i was just quick enough to run out of the damage zone. Though I remember one situation where I'd opened a door, triggered the trap, took only a step back or two upon hearing the click sound and survived, just that i was badly bleeding. @@abrony-cafe

I'm confused as to why these guys can set off their own traps that way.
probably the way the trap is programmed it goes off when any npc walks through it, and they "fixed" the enemies killing themselves on their own traps constantly in testing by just making them immune to the explosion
