    Ugh, the Simplex 4030 still gives me nightmares when I heard it for a fire drill in elementary, middle, and high school. That thing was so loud, when it went off due to a malfunction and caught me off guard in the hallway instead of being in a classroom and ready for it, I was nearly rendered deaf because of it.
    As for the Edwards 380, I believe there's a church down the street from my house that still uses it, even after almost 35 years living here and seeing other places modernize their fire alarm systems.

    This sounds cool because the alarms have very similar pitches and sound cool together

    I dare you to connect an electric fan to one of the power bars, and then turn the panel to alarm and see what happens to the fan while it's in alarm.

    I always though that the alarms choose there own coding, not the panel, or is it different with the newer panels.

    • @NewAgeServerAlarm
      @NewAgeServerAlarm  9 років тому +2

      Emmire Vargas Some alarms can code themselves, some can't. Pretty much all modern panels can code the alarms. A lot of old panels couldn't. It all depends on how the system is set up.

      Alright, thanks I have a cheap knock off of a normal specter alert. It has siren and high-lo but dosnt have a continuous option. I'm saving up for a panel, I have a pull station wired to a battery and the horn knock off. Can you recommend a starting panel for me.

      ***** Can you try and get a hold on a 4003EC or if you find one at a building can you record it? My school has one though they only have the TrueAlert Speaker strobes on the first floor in the middle and in the gym but when I tried to record them, the TrueAlert(LoudAlert) horns are loud and you can barely hear them over the horns since the speaker is at a low volume and the only place where I can get a good recording of it is in the gym.

    • @NewAgeServerAlarm
      @NewAgeServerAlarm  10 років тому +2

      ***** Nah it's too new of a panel to get ahold of. If I ever do an inspection of a building with one then I could record it.By the way, the 4003EC is a rebranded Wheelock SAFEPATH.

    At 6:10. I have heard that if you put a non-polarized bell or horn on a NAC, you will fry your NAC. Some panels have built in protection against this but cheaper panels don't. And, I have heard that non-polarized stuff will cook the NAC in minutes. I would imagine that relays would do the same reaction. But yes, I think non-polarized stuff will fry the NAC.
