Need to show the pole sleeve style is displayed outside against a wall. There are different hanging options I have read and I am confused. Some say the union should be to the flags right as seen on observers left. Other method is the union should be to the East or North when hanging against a wall. I for years have hung mine against the front of the house with the union to the North which places it on the observers right.
Great topic! When your flagpole is outdoors, you can place it anywhere you want - North, South, East or West. As long as install the flag with the star field is at the top, you are fine. When your inside, it gets trickier. You can still place your flag display just about anywhere in the room. When displayed either horizontally or vertically against a wall, the union should be uppermost and to the flag's own right, that is, to the observer's left. When displayed in a window, the American flag should be displayed in the same way, with the union or blue field to the left of the observer in the street.
I have a five foot pole but like the look of wood poles better. But however I like the look of the flag better than the banner. Do they make a 2.5 by 5 foot polyester flag?
We offer a 2.5 X 4 size which would look best with your 5 ft. pole. Our US2124T is a heavy duty polyester is currently out of stock until at least Nov. We do have a cotton grommet in this size - sku US2124C or a nylon banner hemmed - US2124BAN - in stock right now.
@@kylestaker9279 If your banner has a pole hem at the top or can only be read correctly when placed vertically, we recommend that you have you pole at 90 degrees. Otherwise your pole can be at 45 degrees.
@@marceloalmeida4065 yes, the American flag is rectangular. But that isn't what makes a flag different than a banner. Flags have canvas heading and grommets while banners have pole hems.
A flag is determined by country or institution in sigma not by grommets or holes. No coffin would ever be draped with a banner over a coffin, nor would anyone salute, pledge, etc to a banner.
Thank you. Great Explanation! Loved it.
