I’m working in surgery atm and surgeons do typically go by ‘Mr’.
Bit strange, I agree! It’s actually a historical/status thing oddly.
Centuries ago, surgeons weren’t actually ‘medical doctors’, as in they didn’t require a medical degree or whatever.
They were usually craftsman - woodworkers, ironmongers, that kind of thing. Basically people who were just generally very good with their hands. So they weren’t ‘dr. Xyz’ they were ‘Mr xyz’
It’s stuck through to modern day as a sort of throwback to the olden days; although, of course, to be a surgeon nowadays you absolutely do need a medical degree and they could go by ‘Dr’ but just choose not too!
That's actually a pretty increbile fact tbh. I'm actually doing really well (how about yourself?) other than the ailments I'm doing just fine 😂😂

What diagnosis did they give you? Once they become surgeons, they go by the title MR instead - i was shocked at this too! It looks like its going to an interdisciplinary meeting where they all chime in what they think, i hope it goes well for you 👌
Yeah that's pretty much what he informed me about the meeting, and hip displacia back on December, just waiting to, see what, options I've got... Any of the 3 initial options results in surgery (just depends how drastic they need to be) 😂
