The interviewer does a great job. He knows the best material he'll get is just letting Karl and friends talk about one or two subjects that he gently introduces.
Ricky is a b£llend. I guess it generates content but pilkington gets little to no money from this, whilst Ricky doesn't share his millions with his "best" mate

Karl is too down to earth for the whole celebrity lifestyle act. His answers are always going to be realistic and to the point. That's why we love him I guess. He doesn't try to dress anything up or pretend it's something it isn't lol.
That's why you never hear about him anymore, he hasn't got the ego for showbusiness. It's annoying though because he might be my favourite person alive, but the reason for that is because he's such an atypical media personality. I love hearing him on the XFM shows where he was just a shaved chimp hitting buttons.
Ricky told HBO that he wanted to name it that but like Kenniets said and HBO said it wouldnt of sold so thats why they went with "The Ricky Gervais Show"
Jason Howard Do you not know who Ricky Gervais is? Yes he can be a prick but he is undoubtably funny. With masterpeices like the office and extras under his belt some child on the internet dosen't really bother him.
If Ricky "wants it all to be about him", why does he let Karl do pretty much *all* of the talking in this video? Ricky and Steven both know that Karl is the sole reason why this DVD exists.
Ghost of Ronin Steve is just as important as the other two because he keeps the conversations grounded/balanced. Without him, Ricky would get too angry at Karl for being stupid/not understanding science & Karl goes down ridiculous tangents that eventually nobody can understand or he keeps complaining about something. Also Steve’s anecdotes are always hilarious.
@@Ro-Ghost Steven is the most clever of all of them and I love watching him. Steven and Karl together would be absolutely hilarious. Sometimes Ricky can be a little to much and I could do without him sometimes.
These three lads make an awsome comedic team, indeed. Ricky and Steve are very witty, and add Karl to the mix, the act becomes well-rounded (...no, not due to Karls circular head).
I've watched this since the beginning, I still don't get sick of it, my wife hated Ricky from the start of the office, just not her cup of tea, she watched idiot abroad, now she's a fan, she says Carl reminds her of me, and to be honest I can relate to a lot of things that he says, absolute harmless entertainment 👍

I'm not alone in saying how much I like RSK and still listen to them often. But recently I've found it harder to enjoy them because of Ricky. For the last two years I've seen Ricky slowly writing Steve out of his success. It started as mild suspicion and ended up with Ricky at the Oxford Union. He didn't mention Steve once, even after a question mentioned Steve.
How do you know it’s because of Ricky? Maybe Steve was getting more and more jealous of Ricky being the most famous or something similar? Or thinking he was the most talented and Ricky was stealing the lime light? You never know what happens when the cameras aren’t on. What I’ve always got from Steve is, he is a bit of a moaner and all talk. He moans at Karl for not having a go at certain things, or not being open minded, but you can tell Steve wouldn’t do half of the stuff Karl had to do on his travel show. Always got the impression Steve didn’t like Karl very much and was only there because of Ricky. We know Ricky has talent as he has done some great series without Steve. Shame those 3 aren’t all still together but people do change and move on to separate things.

Possibly controversial take here: Yes, Ricky is funny, Stephen is even funnier than him, but, Karl is downright hilarious because he's just a typical northern guy, brutally honest and easy going.
Ricky stop telling Karl he's lucky to be with you and Steve. you havnt made anything half decent since the office. Karl is the talent here we all know it
Ash Wynn Karl doesn't have any measurable talent. Talent at what? Ricky and Steve need to be there to ask him stuff and get his mind working. Karl is extremely lucky to have become friends with Ricky or otherwise he'd still be a nobody.
Hmm, do you want to hear the interviewer talk or Ricky, Steve and Karl? If they're talking he doesn't have to interact, his job is to steer and enervate the interview.
Its remarkable, they've all managed to get through an interview with the Guardian without once being accused of Racism, Misogyny, ect ect and all the numerous other words that they can come up with. Sorry, rant over, these three are just magnificent!!

The start of the video where the interviewer said Stephen merchants name first really hit a issue between the two that still exists to this day- no one seems to mention Stephan was the creator of the office and extras too everyone just thinks of Ricky when these shows are mentioned - Ricky took all the glory
And it’s even called the Ricky Gervais show lol. I would be pissed off if I was Steve. Ricky does hog all the limelight. I mean The Office was Steve’s idea originally anyway.
Possibly controversial take here: Yes, Ricky is funny, Stephen is even funnier than him, but, Karl is downright hilarious because he's just a typical northern guy, brutally honest and easy going.
4:30 onwards the content is absolute gold! Karl Pilkington is so fucking unique.. May He live a happy long life..
Ricky stop telling Karl he's lucky to be with you and Steve. you havnt made anything half decent since the office. Karl is the talent here we all know it
Ash Wynn you should watch derek
Derek lol. what a mess that was. deeply offensive
Used to think Ricky was acting in The Office.
extras is good
Ash Wynn Karl doesn't have any measurable talent. Talent at what? Ricky and Steve need to be there to ask him stuff and get his mind working. Karl is extremely lucky to have become friends with Ricky or otherwise he'd still be a nobody.
Karl's real and that's true strength. He don't care what people think he's just himself.
Could that interviewer be any less interested?
yeh, they might as well talk to the wall. he's fucking insultingly shit and pointless.
Xan is playing it up, he's very funny actually and doesn't take anything too seriously. He's a good critic.
Never heard of the guy. He looked like someone who already had a promotion and just didn't want to take part in this.
Hmm, do you want to hear the interviewer talk or Ricky, Steve and Karl? If they're talking he doesn't have to interact, his job is to steer and enervate the interview.
and yet he didn't steer it at all, Ricky did. And do you even know what enervate means? hahaha
Its remarkable, they've all managed to get through an interview with the Guardian without once being accused of Racism, Misogyny, ect ect and all the numerous other words that they can come up with. Sorry, rant over, these three are just magnificent!!
The more I see of Steve Merchant, the more I admire his detached coolness.
I know what you mean, post XFM Steve genuinely is pretty cool
Seems OK but, if things don't go his way I'll bet he's highly strung
I’m happy to be involved Karl.
Here I am, in the comments section... Getting involved.
Sick of it.
S'weird init
Does yer 'ead in :-D
I can actually hear that in Karl’s voice 😂😂

Can't be doing with it.
I'll wait till it comes out in a charity shop.i get a bargain and it goes to a good cause.
