This live version may lack the momentum and energy of the studio cut, but wow does it show off their voices.

When Phoebe exercised what I can only assume was otherworldly restraint to not yell the final “never a god”, I almost did it for her but then marveled in the calm of Lucy carrying the bridge into the finale. This version is just stunning

its really interesting to me how they all used different tunings, lucy with a capo, phoebe with her open tunings in her songs, and julien with the barred chords

I am absolutely blown away by these three and by this song in particular - acoustic or electric, it is fantastic from lyrics to melody to arrangement, and I swear I could listen to it on repeat for an hour. All of them are incredibly talented. Lately I'm obsessed with Dacus's voice. So good.
As a 55 year old musicologist, I'm absolutely captivated by the immense talent of this trio. Such a rich harmony of beautiful voices. boygenius has been on my heavy rotation as their celestial voices soothes the mania of my days.
