From what I can tell the eagles of middle Earth avoid getting involved in any conflicts unless they have no other choice Which means the problem got bad enough for them to actually get involved
@@Bandersnatch41 According to the Hobbit book, the eagles were actually very vulnerable to bows especially bows like the ones that took out Smaug. They avoid men because they would shoot arrows at the Eagles to protect their sheep. I no doubt that orcs would likely do the same or worse
Unfortunately it doesn't, at least not where the books are concerned. The whole story is about a passing world, a damage irreparable, a wound never to heal. That is why many tried to tie it with both World Wars and the end that they brought to Europe as it once was.
man I never saw this version of LOTR as a child. I remember the well drawn Hobbit animation but only the horribly rotoscoped LOTR "animation" that had no detail/design. This is obviously done by the same production company as The Hobbit animated feature I grew up with.
Amazing that you could think of the Rankin/Bass production as superior to Bakshi. The Bakshi version is a masterpiece and heavily influenced Peter Jackson.
I think most of us the public at large are closer to Gollum and it is so sad to get all to have to great lengths and he ended up accidentally dying sad I feel for Gollum than all other characters or maybe I was taken by surprise when a Catholic Seminary alum realized how dark a character I was ... But I believe I am so kind and now believe that if I am this kind then there must be an opposite and I know I am the kindest person who attempts to encourage all walks of life and strangers but I guess the dark can't be overcome for people know who I am anyway

Why did they add the Eagle's carrying the whole army back to Minas Tirith? They carried six thousand people?! This seems such a weird unnecessary addition.

He does not do so in the book. In the book, he acknowledges that he wouldn't be here without Gandalf, who brought everything to pass, and Frodo, who made victory possible. He asks that in token of this, Frodo bring the crown to him, and Gandalf set it on his head. That was skipped here.

When I first saw her in Fellowship, I thought she would be replacing not just Glorfindel but Legolas too.

Yeah... their okay until they quote the book; that's when the lyrics get bad, "Oft hope is born, when all's forlorn".Cringe. What a weak rhyme.
Some of the songs were weirdly great though. The Grey Havens music recycling the Hobbit theme was quite moving.
