I really Feel like PJ did an impeccable job with his Rendition of the Charge of the Rohirrim. The Scale, the score, The emotion Bernard hill put into that scene was pure cinematic Magic. I appreciate the 80s rendition also because it remained true to the books in so many ways.

I love how intimidating and efficient Sam’s dialog is here! He’s confident as all heck as the orc is begging for mercy: “I’ll THINK about it! I have some questions, filthy one!” 😆 And simple phrases like “What was in contest?” You just don’t hear that kinda talk often. A simple choice of words to prompt the simplest answer. If Sam had asked “What could possibly turn them against each other?” it’s sounds like he’s WONDERING, rather than DEMANDING. “WHY were they fighting?” A quicker sentence, but one that prompts a longer storytelling in response. “Well, we have a captive hobbit, and they KNOW he has a shiny coat somewhere. He hasn’t told us where it is yet, but they both wanted to claim it for themselves, and they’re disputing the laws of ‘Dibs,‘ yada yada yada.” “WHAT WAS IN CONTEST?” “The Hobbit’s pretty coat, once he reveals its hiding place!” Such a snappy and efficient exchange that says so much with few words. I dunno why that stuck out to me, but it did. And I just wanted to give kudos to the writing. Sounds like the kind of encounter you get in a D&D game, but can end up repeating things and talking in circles before finally getting the information.
