Leftover Coffee 02 - SYNCHRONIZING

Leftover Coffee Expression 02 - SYNCHRONIZING was filmed on location at Snowbird by athlete Alec Finke. This was a time of record breaking snowstorms that hovered over the Wasatch in early December. Skiing with Alec at Snowbird is no random technique or concept but a basic principle that motivates me to use my mind and body together. From my perspective, skiing at Snowbird and more specifically skiing at Snowbird with Alec is a synchronizing experience. The terrain in combination with how Alec moves around the mountain is so encouraging for me. This week I felt like myself again after a long and hot summer.
That being said, Snowbird's challenging and intimidating nature is endlessly humbling. As soon as I think I’ve skied a line in perfect synchronization with the flow of the terrain, I am at the top again staring down at something completely intimidating. I drop in hoping my mind and body are connected in a rhythm that matches the speed and steepest of the line. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't. Either way, I know I will meet Alec at the bottom of the line smiling. Skiing at snowbird with Alec will always give me the rush of adrenaline and fear that keeps me entertained and fully addicted to this sport. I cannot wait for our episode together, where we get to showcase his unique style.
