Watching these guys who are all incredibly good skiers, look like they're struggling, just tells you how absolutely incredibly difficult those conditions are. Y'all killed it! So impressive.
I think prioritizing control over tricks is something that would also make the FWT better. With tricks, the skiing doesn't get better, it's just more insane trick every year so eventually it will turn into a slopestyle competition. We have seen that with downhill MTB events like RedBull Rampage.
Wow. I am a skier but not a freeride skier. Those conditions were BRUTAL. Loved your video. Impressed with your skiing. Enjoyed that more than watching some of the Freeride Tour videos!!!
Wow! This is so mind blowing, I have only gone skiing once in my life and it was such a beginning slope. That was fun, and probably 18 years ago when I did it. I don't even know how you'll get on top of those slopes/drops, do they fly you up or is there a way to climb it that makes it easier?
Captivating. I love that you gave us such an immersive view of your experience, but you also highlighted the other competitors. Best in the youtube game rn no question
dude sick vid man, was nice to get to know about this thing i kept hearing about from all my swedish homies in Engelberg. Were the text titles scanned writing on duct tape??
Whats good Noah! haha yes this is the competition all the Swedes rant about. Yeah Casey (the Editor) wrote the titles on Tape and scanned them, I love the DIY look
when you mentioned "first american...." i had difficulty placing your accent and figured you became naturalized, but reading that you were born in boston has got me scratching my head. were you raised in a scando/germanic household? nice content btw
Skiing shitty frozen thin snow in places like these is a skill in it of itself. Wish they would just wait for some powder it would more enjoyable for both skiers and audience.
Freestyle is my weakness, ice doesn't look that scarry but damn droppin stuff in this conditions takes some balls boys :) I don't think i would ever be able to send it, how do you even learn this stuff effectively in terrain? Aelx learning damn fast about competitions, next year might be top 3 :) and it actually makes so much sense with controll facture, it just looks so damn elegant when Edwin is skiing, perfect technique :)
Thank you for the kind words! I don't know if I have any good advice here, I would just say practice when the conditions are good and then when the conditions are bad try to ski alittle under your highest ability to leave room for margin in case things go bad.

Just the noise of those skis on the ice freaks me right out... that is some frightening sh!t...!!
hahah i agree when I just hear the audio it gives me flashbacks.
As an east coaster, it's just a normal day.
The conditions looked impossible, especially with little experience at this location; so a huge congratulations on your top 10 finish!
Alex what are your tips to learn a backy? Great vid btw!
Wow, super cool putting out refreshing content alex!!

This was very enjoyable, swedes are crazy for freeriding on ice, you're even crazier for joining them haha
that snow sounded so sketchy... unreal to see someone backflip off a cliff onto ice with such composure
Hey! Great footage. Im new here actually, and being norwegian, was a little shocked to hear an american speaking swedish. How did you learn Swedish?
Awesome video! Your videos are so unique🔥

Control in Freeride translates to style/confidence and dominance
Excellent stuff
Thank you!
Sick vid
Thank you!!
Great video ❤
Thank you!
I think I could be the fastest ever here...from start to death!
u going back next year? if you seem to understand better now wouldn't you do better next year?
What a sick video… letting you know how jealous the west coast American skiers are right now btw
Thank you!!
Bra svenska Alex!
Tusen Tack!
Norsk bedre
Olaf 🤣
Whats your nationality? I thought you were american no disrespect. Great video btw
I am American 🇺🇸 ! But I speak fluent Swedish
@@AlexHackelNetwork how come? did you live sweeden?
Nice!!!
TUFF
Aye! Thanks!
Song during your final run? @AlexHackelNetwork
Great vid! Please ski this again next year and become the first American champ. Legend.
This is the goal!!
FIRST!!!!!!!!!!
Insider trading ;)
Snow seems like East Coast Crust
Believe it or not (And take this from a person who has skied a lot of East Coast ice) This may have been worse
Lol - Yikes!
That’s absolutely insane
Silver belt at suggy >>
I got this on the list for sure!! looks so sick
Är du svensk mannen?
Most of these descents look suicidally reckless to me. None of these skiers had any concept of what they were doing on this set of turns.
Move your bindings back.
What would you say is the proper mount for freeriding?
experience not experiance
" 3. experiance" ?
Must be the Swedish way of spelling 😂
@@Laurahackel made me smile cause he explained "i start as american" ... it fits the descaription
❤
Tack Kungen!
Förvånade mig när du började prata svenska😂
haha ja det inte många amerikaner som kan svenska :)
send me some 1k skis plssssss
I have been trying to enter the Olympics for 30 years now, Must be the toughest Event in this world…your „logic“ gives me a headache
so sick to see you venturing into freeride!!! 🫶
Thank you
