My wooden box collections : From Viva Hate Records I got Agalloch red vinyl version. I got Opeth white vinyl version, and Enslaved white vinyl version and the box is signed by Ivar and Grutle . From Prophecy Productions I got Tenhi and Empyrium vinyl set. Cool stuff.
My only box set of CD is a box set of 4 Doo wop CD's. I live them dearly. The only CD's I refuse to take any where. My grandfather gave them to me, because we both love Doo wop. We also bonded over the doo wop. So if anything happened to them I'd be devastated.
Wow! I did not know about the Roger Glover & Friends: The Butterfly Ball box set. I love that album. I have the 25th Anniversary one CD edition. Looks like the box set is a real collector's item now.

Yeah lots of these boxsets now go out of print super quick. I’ve found I have to buy them right away or next time I turn around they’re gone. Some like the most recent Depeche Mode boxset or Thin Lizzy boxset sold out before it even went on sale and some people who pre-ordered didn’t even get them. I lucked out and got both.
The Rare Cult box is awesome! I also have the Demo sessions box set that came out a year or so later. Absolutely mandatory :-) Great collection you got there. Cheers.
That Rare Cult isn’t easy to come by these days at a reasonable price either ! I’d heard of the demos sessions but misse out on that one entirely argh !!!
My absolute favorite changes based on my musical mood at the moment but my favorite type are the boxsets filed with unreleased material like Bruce Springsteen Tracks or Bon Jovi 1,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can’t Be Wrong.
Hi Brendon,here's one for you! What is your take on stickers on cds? Do you remove from wrapping and put on cd case? Do you put stickers in cd tray as to not spoil the cover artwork? For me it's stickers on jewel cases are good but inside on digipacks. Bit of a nerdy question but I'm sure you've been asked before!?
Dude you and I have very similar tastes the Magnum, Killing Joke, Cult box sets all top quality !! That Magnum box is quite hard to find and pricey these days !
One of these days I need to search out the value of some of my boxsets as currently I have no idea. Once they’re in my collection I’m not paying attention to them or prices if I see them since I already own it. But I’d be curious to know which of them are rare/valuable or not. I had no idea the Killing Joke was one that was highly sought after.
@@BrendonSnyder once they go OOP many of them tend to go for dumb money, but of course they are really only worth what someone is willing to pay for them in the end. The two that are fairly vailuabke are the Magnum and Cult boxes, not sure about the KJ I have the 2 cd (actually it’s 4 CDs in double jewel cases) set not the actual hard back book 4 CD set like you have. That said as a guy who really became obsessed with focusing on box sets years ago, I defiantly have box set envy of your massive collection. I’m somewhere in the 120-130 sets so mine pales in comparison to your dude !!

Haha…yes it sure is! I got the cassette tattoo because it’s what I grew up listening to and I wasn’t something music related but also something nostalgic.
Glad to hear you want unique and exquisite collections. I once made my own City Boy box set from several cut-out-bin caasettes. $6! Most inexpensive box set, although I did a full color ink jet two-sided foldout. My PowerPoint skills = Free!
I enjoy these videos. Do you have any of the Jethro Tull boxsets? They have a large amount of rare tracks. I have not see all of these so sorry if you covered this before
No, none of the recent Jethro Tull boxsets because the same bonus tracks are on the Steve Wilson remixed albums that can be bought separately. Usually the bonus discs are live shows and surround sound mixes which are of less interest to me.

You know I love Yes, but I don’t need multiples of the same concert tour. I do have a special edition CD/DVD of one of the shows that was released by the same label a decade ago. So since I have that I feel I have enough. But I would like the box it comes in, that crate is pretty cool!

I didn't want to spend the money, but I waited a few weeks after release and got on sale. Saved over a hundred bucks so I was happy.😎
Not really. A boxset is as it sounds, something contained in a box. Usually there is more like a book, poster, replica merch, etc. However some of the early 90’s boxsets have been reissued removing all the extra items and just keeping the music in one of those thick jewel cases. So I’m some cases it could have been a boxset and would still count today. Also generally a boxset is 3 discs or more.

No I don’t scan any of them. It defeats the purpose of the physical collection which is why I buy them in the first place. As for competing your collection, just buy a subscription to a streaming service so you can have access.
If this doesn’t get people collecting cds again, nothing will. Nice collection!! I didn’t know some of that stuff even existed.

I cut around the sticker, leave it on the plastic and stick it inside the booklet.

Luckily most of these sets are streaming too so I don't have to shell out the huge bucks to get all the rarities!
