There is a silent audience very eager for the progress of this game, those of us who played Arma 3 in the heaviest form of MilSim. To have this experience we need a lot of mods, in a poorly optimized game from 2013, so getting a modern game where everything was easier is a dream. But for this, systems like drawing on the map, Tarkov-style inventory, medicinal system and radio system like Arma's are the barriers that force us to stay in the same game for so long. The reality is that we must create our own Arma competitor, I see OHDS as the perfect place for this in a few years.
absolutely, as much as I wish I did, I dont have the know how to develop games or code. i can barely model low poly objects. so watching this and seeing the progress is very exciting. Been here since the project reality days, and I'm so glad that he's making his own and has a system to allow the community to make a game that everyone enjoys with features and items they want.
@@CoolCraig31Yes but no. Air defense systems and offense systems are really more suited to their role as an airframe. No CAP would be comprised of 64/28’s, and would instead be full fixed wing fliers. So you’re looking at a misapplication, but it would be highly suited to a CAS and Medevac escort role. But for the 64’s you might pair them to the 60’s as you would pair the 28/52’s with the mi-8’s. Balanced gameplay would comprise most of ground-based air defense systems.
@@torchbaugh ok sorry not too knowledgeable on air combat formations I was just thinking about how similar both look and that it might be more fair because of their size and hitbox and that neither of them has too much of an advantage over the other like how the viper in battlefield 4 is the best attack helicopter because of how small and nimble it is compared to the other nations attack helicopters.
@@torchbaugh I will say I do prefer how the hind looks over the havoc. The havoc is probably deadlier since it's a newer design, but the hind looks like an absolute unit.
It for sure does, it’ll just take a bit more time. But the framework is there and the speed of development between blue drake’s team and community is awesome.
I suppose it's going for functionality and gameplay flow while slowing it down enough to have some thought while keeping it fast enough to not be overly slow. But that being said they do plan on slowing things down more after the implementation of vehicles along with more features like construction and rally points that will make things more team based. You know to make things slower later when everything has been tested. Like they're testing now in the video.
@@nungbear1398 Not just that. The movement is too fast, weapon sway is non-existent, firefights are too long. Everything is fast paced compared to Squad.
The one thing I would like, is that there would be more coordination, something like a squad system and the squad leader could give orders on where to go, and if your squad is empty, you could be in charge of bots, something like what we have in Arma 3, those AI squad commands were and still are pretty sweet.

You're not kidding. Things really are gaining momentum lately! I'm in awe watching OHD, the dream game, come together as a preferable alternative to Squad, Insurgency, etc. ✊
Suggestion: if you are the gunner/driver of a vehicle, other friendly vehicles should have a flashing strobe so that it's easier to recognize a friendly vehicle, infantry on the other hand can only see the vehicle strobe if they use the binoculars and no other way around.
I admire how you run this project with patience and resilience, following a your vision. It is definitely hard to do this in a world where people constantly look for instant gratification. With every video we can see progress. The game is not yet ready for prime time but every time I jump in for a play session it feels better and I can see the progress!

Outstanding work! This is sorta a funny take from others though, "if you have large maps, you won't have good infantry play." Arma disproves that on its own, let alone something even better made that O:HD. Really looking forward to what's top come with this.

This game is starting to look really good. Hopefully it somewhat plays like the damocles mod or aek-971 mod for battlefield 2 in singleplayer mode albeit with smarter bots. Love playing those bf2 mods in singleplayer. Keep up the good work Bluedrake!
Hi drake, i really like the idea of this project and im hype for the real real release of this game (like with all the basic stuff, vehicle, building etc.) but in my opinion it take too long. Indeed, there is already a lot of mod that add several vehicule while u didn't even add one or 2 + there's also a lot of mod that add several gun and faction while there is not that much in game. U guys have the best programmers and work hard so im wondering why does it take so long to release stuff that is already released with mods. I wish u the best and hope to see new updates soon !

You know... It would be very cool to see cargo helicopters for infantry in this game, helicopters like: Mi-8 CH-47 Chinook. I think it will be possible to make such helicopters for evacuation cases in single missions, or in a multiplayer game plan, such as escorting troops to the front. (In such cases, I think it’s worth thinking about enlarging the map, but this will affect optimization, if the situation allows you to do this, it would be awesome!)
it would be amazing if most vehicles have stabilizer on their weapon and could be switched on and off. it would be helpful for helicopter gunner, tank gunner, apc gunner when they are mobilized especially in high speed
Honestly with all the options you can modify I'd be super hyped to see someone finally do an arcade shooter right without the microtransactions or anything. Would be a huge step tbh
I'm not sure how I feel about civilians being controlled by players. Players might not "role-play", but instead, try to troll or something and intentionally run into your bullets. But overall, I'm really excited for the future of this game! Keep up the good work!
I think there is enough of an objective to prevent that, but it is optional so servers could turn it off if there is a problem. On the flip side any issues with it being ai controlled wouldn't be there.
I think dedicated (probably ai manned) anti air vehicles would be a good addition with helicopters. I know stingers will be a thing but I think it would add a whole new dynamic that I don’t see in many other games of placing AA at the beginning of the match, then subsequently evading and destroying it.
I know this is a big ask, perhaps impossible even, but I’d love to see this come to consoles someday. I don’t have a gaming PC and will likely never have one, so my gaming resides entirely on console.
Again Blue I really like your game, and don't take this the wrong way, the only thing u guys should change is the small arms gun sound, they sound way to weak and unrealistic, so please make them sound little more punchy, I think a lot of players would appreciate that and it would give a lot of other big shooters a run for there money !

Limit the ammo to the helo and make rearming with a 1 or 2 minute load time. So the helo is not too OP. Same with armor the last time I played I'd went strait to there spon and spon camped, it was shooting fish in a bucket, murdering them.
Bungie was going to do that for the game Monkey Nuts, but that evolved into Halo. It's a cool concept and I almost wish I could see what that would've looked like, but Halo is good as it is.
Have you thought about adding a fuel meter to the vehicles as an innate balance? I.e the apache can only have a loiter time of around 5-10 mins before it is required to RTB?
Not to nitpick but, are the rotors on the Apache really THAT long? It looks like they are clipping through the tail rotor. Dope to see the progress being made though! Hopefully I can figure out why my computer black screens when I try to play it
Maybe kind of a wierd question but could you make it so faction‘s camps change depending on the map. For example the Cold War U.S. team could have 3 designs depending on maps. Desert (already in game), M81 (for woodland envoirements) and snow/ urban (a half life heck like m81 woodland but in black white and gray, like the one used in operation urban warrior for snow envoirements).
The only thing that i dislike about operation in my opinion is that it becomes a running simulator given how far apart spawn points are and the lack of squad mate spawning and the AI are kinda cracked and just snap on to you and one shot you.
I know this game is focused on competing with modern multiplayer shooters, but I have ideas and zero coding, modeling, animating, rigging, etc. I want mechs.
All those new mods and game modes feel a bit intimidating for a newcomer. how accessible are those? Also, how is the playerbase with them? can they fill up a server?
Any mods on the server will automatically download when you join, so you can just click and play. That was a big feature of the last update. They are all on the steam workshop so you can check them out yourself pretty easily. There are usually a couple servers filled.
Ok I was a little bit wrong, all of the targeting is in the missle, the antenna is iff identification, telling you if the target is a friend or foe, Blue Drake just made a short about it
man so ive been following this since you started and i absolutely love what your doing. but holy shit hire a sound designer because the audio is like a game from the 90's. im being dead serious, if your audio was better, your game would be massively impacted. i havent heard you talk on that subject in over a year, back when you "upgraded" the audio but man its just lacking punch. audio does so much for a game like this
example, when grenades go off it sounds like i slammed my elbow on a wooden table. it pulls me so much out of the game. guns like the m4 sound like a 4 year old running through a house with wood floors (even worse actually)
i know i sound harsh, its just bugged me for a long time. i try and get my homies into your game but they like me can only play for maybe 20 minutes before its like "hey id rather go watch another youtube video this feels like 1999." go watch a garand thumb video, hell even try and contact Mike from there he's HUGE on audio design and has made that a major priority just for his youtube vids for several years now. he may me able to help you. or at least ask him if you can get some audio of real guns being fired cuz thats all he does for al iving lol

The bots in this game are very basic/as dumb as bf2 bots. No fun to play with.

Realistic gunfire actually sounds more like firecrackers, especially at longer distances. You're wanting more of a film style cinematic gun sound.

It's the antenna, it's how the missile acquires a lock on the target.
